Sera absorbed his words slowly. "Will it hurt the baby?" she asked. "Getting my wolf back," she continued, "will it hurt the baby?"
"I… I don't know. These are questions we will ask," he said carefully. "We won't move blindly." He bent slightly so he was closer to her height. "You carry the shadow wolf."
That alone changed the rules.
"Normal werewolf biology don't apply," he continued. "Ravok's blood runs through that child. But I think," he added slowly, choosing each word, "if the child is fully formed, only you can hurt him."
Sera swallowed. The idea that she held that much power terrified her.
"I don't want to hurt him," she whispered.
"You won't," Charles said firmly.
Reawakening a suppressed wolf required tearing through whatever had bound it. Some wolves never recovered.
"You will not do this alone," he said.
"Great. Before we do anything, I need to know he will be safe." Sera affirmed.
