Haneul's lips were still pressed against Taekyun's, his heart hammering as if it wanted to burst from his chest.
His wide eyes searched Taekyun's, lingering on every detailbthe sharp jawline, the cold, unreadable gaze, the subtle tension in his shoulders.
Taekyun's hands gripped Haneul's small shoulders, pushing him back gently but firmly, straightening him.
Haneul froze, cheeks burning, still as a statue under the Alpha's commanding presence.
Taekyun pressed a hand against his temple, leaning slightly toward the desk, eyes darkened with stormy emotion.
What just happened?
He thought, mind spinning.
Why does it feel different and so similar to before?
He lifted his gaze, looked at Haneul,
Who was standing there with a slow, innocent smile, cheeks tinged pink.
The sight made Taekyun glance toward the wall, gulping, trying to steady himself.
"You… can go now,"
He said, voice low and tense.
"We'll talk tomorrow."
Haneul's heart skipped, but he bowed lightly, still smiling.
His eyes they're dark, but he hesitated but took a step back.
His pulse raced as he left the room, leaving Taekyun slumped in his chair, hand pressed to the desk, thoughts a chaotic whirlwind. What is happening?
Why?
[The next morning]
Haneul stood in the garden, pacing lightly.
Sunlight glinted off the dew-covered grass, but he barely noticed, too focused on the excitement bubbling in his chest.
Today, he would see Haru.
He hadn't seen her in all these days, and the anticipation made him jittery.
Taekyun sat in the lounge, laptop open, still as always, yet his presence radiated authority even in calm.
Haneul glanced toward him occasionally, noting the unusual quietness, and a small thrill ran through him.
Bora appeared with a tray of coffee, pausing at the window to glance at Haneul pacing below.
She stepped into the garden and lightly took his hand.
"Yaa, it's enough. Sit down.
They'll arrive soon,"
She said, smiling.
Haneul shook his head, excitement sparkling in his eyes.
"I know, but I can't wait! I haven't seen her in so long she must be upset,"
He murmured, almost bouncing.
Bora smiled faintly and returned inside.
After some time,
The car honked as it pulled into the driveway. Haneul's heartbeat skipped.
Taekyun walked out slowly, eyes on the garden.
Normally, he would have been the first to meet his daughter but today, he froze, watching.
Haru's door opened, and the little girl bolted out, eyes lighting up as she spotted Haneul.
Haneul rushed to her, scooping her up in his arms.
Her tiny arms wrapped around his neck, and she pressed a kiss to his cheek.
Haneul returned it, holding her close, feeling the warmth and laughter flow through both of them.
From the driveway,
Lihan stepped out,
Servants whispered to one another.
"See? Something's happening,"
One murmured.
"Look at how close he is with Haru…
even Sir brought him back."
"Yes there's more to him than we thought," Another said, watching them intently.
Haneul walked toward Taekyun, holding Haru securely.
The little girl wriggled, attempting to bow to her father, but Haneul stopped her gently.
He positioned her in front of Taekyun, smiling softly.
Taekyun approached slowly, understanding immediately what Haneul was doing.
He lifted Haru into his arms, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.
The little girl smiled, wrapping her arms around him as they moved inside together.
A servant whispered to another,
"See it's like a perfect family, like mother teaching father how to care for a child."
"Yes Sir deserves this"
The other replied, eyes shining.
Inside,
As Taekyun left to his room after sometime,
Haneul settled into the lounge couch, Haru perched on his lap.
He held her close, warmth spreading through him.
"I won't leave again,"
He murmured, voice soft but firm.
"This time I won't let you go."
Haru smiled, small hands reaching for his cheeks.
She pressed another gentle kiss to his face, then hugged him tightly.
Haneul returned it, holding her even closer.
They looked more like playful children than an adult and a child, laughing and cherishing the simple moment together.
When lunch was served, Bora approached Taekyun.
"Sir, lunch is ready. Haru is with Haneul, I'll bring Haru."
She said.
Taekyun's gaze flicked toward the lounge.
"It's okay. I'll call Haru,"
He said calmly, voice low and measured.
Bora almost had a heart attack no sharp tone, no commands, just soft authority.
Taekyun entered the lounge, eyes on Haneul and Haru.
Haneul looked up, their eyes meeting for a brief, charged moment.
Haru wriggled in Haneul's lap, trying to get down. Haneul held her carefully.
Taekyun's eyes softened as he lifted Haru into his arms.
He looked at Haneul, curiosity and something deeper in his gaze.
"If you want, you can join us for lunch,"
He said.
Haneul's heart leapt.
"Can I really?"
Taekyun nodded.
Haneul beamed, slipping on his slippers and hurrying to follow him to the dining table.
The servants inside froze.
Bora and Liya's eyes widened, disbelief and awe written across their faces.
By the sight almost like a chaebol families in drama.
A tall, handsome Alpha carrying his daughter, a small, delicate Omega following beside them, moving like a real, perfect family.
How can they be this perfect?
Bora thought, staring as they reached the table.
At the table,
Haneul sat next to Haru, feeding her carefully, guiding each bite to her mouth with tender patience.
Taekyun's sharp gaze lingered, lips pressed thin.
"She can eat her own,"
He said flatly.
Haneul smiled, eyes sparkling.
"It's okay I'll feed her,"
He said simply, warmth radiating from him.
Taekyun nearly choked at the sight, but he maintained his composure, quietly observing.
Each time Haneul guided Haru's mouth, cleaned her lips, smiled at her with gentle care, it felt intoxicating.
Haru's face shone with happiness, eyes wide and sparkling.
"Thank you"
She whispered softly in Korean, the words spilling naturally from her lips.
Haneul's chest tightened, holding her close.
Taekyun's gaze followed them, shoulders tense, jaw set.
Watching Haneul with Haru, seeing him so tender and gentle, something deep inside Taekyun stirred pride, desire, protectiveness, and a pang of unexpected warmth.
For the first time in a long while, the residence felt alive with laughter, warmth, and a fragile, growing family bond.
