Kelsey looked around at the familiar decor and remained completely silent.
The waiter brought their coffee. They had both ordered cappuccinos.
She actually preferred black coffee, the kind that was pure, unadulterated bitterness.
Quiana has different tastes; she has a major sweet tooth.
Kelsey had ordered after her, seeing her choose a cappuccino, and had just followed suit.
The last time she was in this café, she had been face-to-face with Elise.
She never imagined she would be in the exact same place, at the same table, this time with Quiana.
And with a completely different, guilty feeling in her heart.
Quiana didn't know how to start the conversation.
She had called out to Kelsey on a pure impulse and had regretted it almost immediately after she thought it through.
But seeing that Kelsey looked even more nervous and tense than she did, Quiana slowly found her own calm.
