Rhett watched her face closely. Obsessively.
Every time he saw her brows pinch together, he'd ease up the pressure in his hands. Even though he was already being gentle, he still ended up pulling her hair a little.
After a few tries, he got the hang of it.
Honestly, he was a fast learner. Sharp.
In just a few minutes, he seemed to have figured out the trick. He didn't hurt her again after that.
The roar of the hair dryer finally stopped.
Her hair was dry now, smooth and shiny as it tumbled over her shoulders, framing her face, which looked extra pure and delicate without any makeup.
Rhett helped her sit up and picked up a comb.
He started running it through her long hair, his movements careful. "Seems like it's grown a lot," he murmured, almost to himself.
Kelsey turned her face away, refusing to answer.
Rhett saw her resistance and didn't push it. Instead, he asked, "It's still early. Do you want to do something else?"
Kelsey shook her head. "Let's just sleep."
