Catherine's POV
The free period time came as I made my way toward the cafeteria. I had no intention of eating, but the central hub of the campus was the best place to keep an eye on the shifting tides. I found a corner table with a clear view of the main entrance, pulling my phone out to double-check the recording I had made in the car.
I was barely settled when I saw Sasha walking in. She was trying to maintain that regal, untouchable posture she'd spent years perfecting, but it was cracking. Every few steps, someone would whisper loud enough for her to hear, or a group would break into a chorus of mocking laughter as she passed.
In the center of the cafeteria sat the "power table." Lucy was already there, flanked by Sasha's ex lap dogs: Rina, Mia, and Zoe. They were leaning in, hanging on Lucy's every word. It was a pathetic display of loyalty to whoever held the crown.
