Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The Psychologist

Colin looked out over the desert, then quietly picked up a shovel and began to plant trees.

As for why he was doing it here—well, simply because he liked it. He loved the feeling of creating something from nothing. And since he enjoyed it, he came. Maybe, before long, this entire wasteland would be covered in green, and it would look beautiful.

Besides, with all kinds of rare and strange plants around, it could even become a tourist attraction. He might as well make a profit while he was at it—killing several birds with one stone.

And the best part? Neither Poison Ivy nor Harley Quinn required a salary. All they needed were basic supplies to live on. Maybe he could even bring in a few more villains to help with the planting—after all, free labor was free labor.

He'd decide when he came across the right ones. If he ever encountered another unlucky villain, he'd just send them here to plant trees. Poison Ivy and Harley would definitely welcome a new friend.

Harley sat comfortably on a chair woven from vines, chewing on snacks while watching Colin work. So he really can plant trees, she thought, a bit surprised.

"Mmm~ these taste amazing!" Harley said between bites, completely satisfied with the food Colin had brought. She hadn't eaten anything this good in a long time.

Poison Ivy nodded in agreement, quietly eating while watching Colin. The sight of him working gave her a strange warmth. Handsome, invincible, and good at planting trees—he was the perfect embodiment of her fantasy partner.

Unfortunately, she only had viewing rights, not usage rights.

If someone could truly be with Colin, that person would have to be his one true love. After all, from his superhuman perspective, people were little more than moving lumps of flesh, crawling with oily parasites. For Colin to overlook that and still love someone—that could only be called true love.

He'd once told her that he could adjust his vision to look closer to that of an ordinary human. It helped him feel a bit more comfortable.

But as Ivy's mind wandered, it began to twist into darker thoughts. If only I could drag my toes across his chest... that would be thrilling.

She sighed inwardly, realizing how perverse her imagination had gotten. Could he tell what I'm thinking right now? she wondered. If he knew I was fantasizing about him... what would he think?

Whether or not Colin knew, the thrill of it made her pulse quicken. Her imagination spiraled further—fantasies of Colin's touch, his tongue, his body against hers...

Her breathing grew shallow. Am I... toying with an invincible being?

But Colin remained focused, shovel in hand, carefully planting trees. His telepathy was turned off. He didn't want to know what others were thinking all the time.

People's minds were rarely pleasant places. Even the most well-mannered gentleman could harbor filthy thoughts. Still, Colin didn't see it as wrong—as long as they didn't break the law, people could think whatever they wanted.

Because humanity was full of contradictions—dark desires and pure intentions coexisted in the same soul.

He once met a man whose mind was filled entirely with sexual fantasies, yet that same man had risked his life to save a child from a robber.

After planting for a while, Colin walked under a patch of shade formed by intertwined plants and took a sip of water.

"Ivy went to the bathroom," Harley said casually.

"Oh." Colin didn't pay much attention. Planting trees was Ivy's passion; she had no reason to slack off.

Harley studied him for a moment, then smirked. "You're still a virgin, aren't you?"

Colin: "…"

His gaze slowly turned toward her.

"I knew it! Want me to help you fix that?" she teased with a wicked grin.

"Are you that bored?" Colin sighed.

Before crossing into this world, he had just been a high schooler with a strict upbringing—no dating, no relationships. He'd planned to find a cute girlfriend in college, but before he could even enroll, he was transported here.

Once here, he awakened his powers—and immediately began seeing the grotesque truths of people's bodies. It disgusted him so deeply that he avoided physical contact altogether.

He took another sip of water, trying to stay calm. He'd been working hard to overcome that revulsion.

At first, he wouldn't let anyone touch him. But over time, he improved—he could now even tolerate Monica's massages without discomfort.

In his early days, that would've been unthinkable.

"I'm just really bored~," Harley said, running her fingers through her hair and leaning forward suggestively.

Her posture made her intent clear.

"You're impossible," Colin muttered, turning away. His expression shifted slightly, realizing where her mind was going.

Harley smiled faintly and stood up. "You've got a psychological issue," she said with mock seriousness. "I can help you. I can make you comfortable with women again."

After all, she was a trained psychologist—and she could see exactly what his problem was. She slowly began to approach him.

"No need. I'll handle it myself," Colin replied calmly.

Harley took another step forward—but suddenly found herself unable to move closer. An invisible force held her back, like an unseen wall.

She huffed in frustration and finally gave up.

Just then, Ivy returned. Colin caught a faint, unfamiliar scent and glanced at her, eyebrows raising slightly.

Harley noticed immediately. Being a woman herself, she instantly realized what Ivy had been doing.

A mischievous grin spread across Harley's face. "Did Colin notice what you just did?" she asked playfully.

Ivy didn't seem to care. "I called his name," she replied coolly.

Harley let out a cackle. "You're such a bitch."

"You're one too," Ivy shot back.

Colin, meanwhile, was already gone—flying through the sky.

Below, he spotted Lois Lane and Clark Kent driving leisurely down a long stretch of highway, laughing as they went.

He knew they were on their way to find Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. It was technically work, but the two of them treated it more like a vacation.

He smiled faintly, then turned his gaze elsewhere—scanning the world for people who might need help.

Moments later, his eyes locked onto a new target.
