Chapter 15 - Each other's family

Heukjin's POV

Water slid down my body cold and freezing but it didn't seem to quell the burning fire within me.

I wiped the wet mirror with my palm huffing heavily. My eyes gazed back at me soaked in lust.

That kid…

He only made an attempt to go further yet I was unable to hold back. If rationale hadn't struck in at the last minute, then I would've had him.

It was no fun to quickly end things, I planned on having as much fun with Sehyun as I could. Till I'd tainted him enough —till I got bored of him.

"Yoon Heukjin, get a grip…"

I turned of the shower and walked out of the bathroom feeling clearheaded a towel wrapped around my torso.

I must've winded offtrack because of the sudden 'dissapearance' of that old wench. Because of her family bullshit, I've had lesser time to spend with Sehyun.

Time was fucking important to me yet they had to pull their chaos now. It was annoying.

I had to put an end it it, I hated it most when my schedule became messed up.

Right now, Sehyun was the most important thing on my schedule, I had to fall through with my plans for him.

I had waited almost a lifetime for this moment i wasn't going to let this golden period while away without making most of it.

No, I was going to make all of it. Make my waiting worth it.

I let out a half laugh my eyes gleaming.

"Lee Sehyun, I have alot of expectations for you, don't let Sensei down." I mummured moving towards the closet.

After changing into a new set of clothes, I walked out of my room towards the basement.

First, I had to take care of the most bothersome thing.

The old hag in my basement.

"Auntie…" I called pulling the door open.

"Hm?" She was seated on her rocking chair engroosed in the scarf she was knitting. She didn't even bother looking up.

Give them an inch, they take a mile.

She must've sensed I was currently not in the mood for playing around as her hands halted with their actions her head rising.

"What does the young master want?" She asked her eyes staring warily at me.

"I'm bored. I've had enough of your hide and seek. It's time for you to be erased completely from this part of my painting." I declared lazily leaning on the door frame.

"I haven't finished knitting this…." Her voice rose slightly about to argue. My eyes squinted at her with disain. "Auntie must've mistook my tolerance for kindness. I do not give two fucks about your worthless scarf." I glowered at her.

She jerked out of fright startled by my sudden coldness. She really thought I was being kind? I scoffed.

"Y-young master but—"

She was becoming persistent like a leech. One who didn't know when to stop.

"Enough!" I snapped

"Hence, I do the talking. You just shut up and listen."

I walked in closing the door behind me flipping the light switch.

I pulled a chair from the corner and dragged it slowly on the floor towards her. The metal scrapping loudly against the tiles.

"Auntie…" my voice drawled.

I placed the chair before her and sat on it propping my leg on the other.

"Let's not result to violence alright, let's continue with the peaceful relationship we have now." I uttered my voice flat.

She nodded not daring to say a word. Her eyes remained fixated on the scarf on her thighs.

Now, this was more like it.

Fear.

This is what you ought to feel in my presence.

"Tonight. You'll be found by the police and be taken back home. You'll hand over the property documents to that fool you birthed and return to Seoul with them." I announced leaning back on the chair.

Her eyes shot up at me dumbfounded at my words she seemed to be shouting: 'this wasn't what we agreed on, why did I accept your help if I was going to turn in the documents eventually?!'

I stiffled a laugh, then let out a maniac laughter. I laughed till my eyes hurt.

"You pathetic foolish woman." I muttered to her hearing.

"You must've had it all wrong, I offered help but not to help you punish your children. I'm not that gracious, what do you take me for? A devil with an angel's heart? Besides, if you can't handle your own children doesn't that make you unworthy of living peacefully?" I watched her amusedly.

"Auntie, the monster that your children are now, you carved them to be perfected that way." I added shaking my head a faint smile on my lips.

She shuddered violently, her eyes rimmed with tears as she glared hatefully at me. I leaned in towards her my hands reaching out to adjust her disheveled hair. "Auntie, that look in your eyes, I grew up seeing it. A lot of it so, it doesn't work any magic on me." I whispered an edge to my voice.

Her lips quivered nonstop. I beamed at her. "Since you definitely have no choice than to fulfill your end of the promise since I've done my part, we'll follow through with the plan as it is." I said wiping my fingers on the coat she had on.

I stood up. "Don't cry, the world isn't as easy at you think. That's why you should have returned home that day without accepting my help. It's a pity really."

I adjusted my glasses smirking at her. "You still have time to finish that scarf of yours though."

I spun on my heels walking out of the basement. "Also before I forget, don't even attempt to contact Sehyun after. I'll really end your measly life." I slammed the door with a loud bang.

I stood outside the door leaning on the wall my eyes on the ticking clock.

Twenty seconds passed, then a minute, three minutes, then I finally heard it.

Her screams and the clattering objects thrown around. I giggled bitting at my nails.

There was nothing more refreshing than the yells of an hopeless person. It was all they could to to fight back. The height of it all.

"Auntie, you really should've refused my help then."

***

My gaze fixated at ceiling, I stared at the pictures of Sehyun humming softly slowly twirling the glass of whiskey in my hands. Auntie had left an hour ago and I was certain he'd call soon. I was waiting—waiting patiently for his call. To hear how excited he was to inform me his beloved Auntie had been found.

My phone vibrated beside me.

My lips carved up immediately. He was so predictable.

I picked it up hastily but my hand hovered on the green button. The call ended.

My phone vibrated again, I didn't pick up.

In a flash, Sehyun has called over fifteen times. My smile widened. At the sixteenth time, I finally picked.

"Mn? I was in the bathroom then, sorry." I said softly once I picked up.

>I'm sorry for calling repeatedly when Sensei was busy.

His ever gentle voice made my eyes unconsciously gleam.

"Sehyun must've had a reason to call that much, I understand."

>Auntie has been found! She seems to have recovered from her episode and is currently at home.

"Oh? Really?" I tried to sound as surprised and relived as I could.

>Mn. She even recognized me once she saw me.

My brows narrowed sharply. The bitch wasn't trying to be smart was she? I gripped the phone tight.

"She didn't say anything scary did she?" I tentatively asked.

He chuckled softly easing my tensed muscles a bit

>I couldn't even exchange a sentence before Chulsang dragged her away.

Finally he was of some use.

"Wait for me, I'll be there soon."

That bitch couldn't be trusted one bit, I couldn't have anyone disrupting my plans before they even full started.

I was sure he was smiling.

>Mn. I'll be waiting for Sensei.

I heard the flat beep line. I grabbed the jacket I'd dropped on the couch an hour ago and hurried out.

___________

"Get in the car mother!" Chulsang pushed her into the backseat yelling on top of his voice.

They were so impatient to drive her out of their lives. She had lost all usefulness to them, it was tragic.

"Auntie…" I grasped Sehyun's hand preventing him from charging forward. "It's none of our business." I said calmly.

His gaze dropped down to the scarf he has in his hand. She'd managed to give it to him at some point before I arrived.

All this while, she was earnestly making this scarf for him. I gazed at the car she was in. This woman was surprisingly unpredictable.

The car sped off faster than the speed of light despite the bumps in the street.

"I couldn't do anything more for Auntie till rhe very end." Sehyun muttered silently.

I wrapped my arms around his shoulder comfortingly. "You did what you could. Auntie will understand."

Of course she did.

He gazed up at me his eyes glistening with tears. "Auntie was the only family I had left…" he said softly almost breaking.

I froze.

Family?

He considered her that important?

I pulled him into my arms as if enshrouding his entire being.

"What about me?" I questioned sharply.

"Don't I mean anything to Sehyun?"

I hated it that someone else ranked first in Sehyun's world. Hated that I might just be a fleeting phase in his just beginning life.

"Sensei—" sobs covered the rest of his words. I held him tighter unwilling to let go.

"I'll be your family from now on." I pronounced.

I'll shower you with unconditional love.

"It'll be just both of us. We'll be each other's family." I said firmly my eyes resolved.
