Sun Jing had just finished getting ready for bed when a familiar blue notification window suddenly appeared in front of her.
[Trial of the Sword Dungeon floors 6 to 10 are now open!]
She blinked before a small smile appeared on her face.
"Perfect."
The Trial of the Sword had been sitting untouched ever since she cleared the first five floors and obtained Wado Ichimonji. Between school, training, stray devils, fallen angels, and everything involving Asia, she simply hadn't found the time to return.
Now she finally had a reason.
If she wanted to reach Level 30 and unlock her evolution, this dungeon was probably the fastest way to do it.
Before heading off, Sun Jing decided to check on Asia.
Ever since moving into the mansion, the former nun had been adjusting surprisingly well. The maids adored her, the staff spoiled her whenever they had the chance, and she had even started making friends at school.
The only thing she still struggled with was sleeping alone.
More than once, Sun Jing had woken up to find Asia curled up under her blankets sometime during the night.
Walking across the hallway, she stopped in front of Asia's room and knocked on the door.
"Asia, I'm going to bed."
A few seconds later, the door opened.
Asia stood there wearing a simple blue nightgown, her blonde hair falling loosely over her shoulders.
"You're going to sleep already?" she asked.
"I like having a routine," Sun Jing replied. "Especially a bedtime one."
It wasn't entirely true, but it sounded believable enough.
"I haven't really been following it lately since meeting all of you."
"Ah... I see..." Asia's shoulders drooped slightly.
"I just wanted to check on you," Sun Jing continued. "I want to sleep alone tonight."
She reached over and patted Asia on the head.
"Don't look so sad. I understand you're still adjusting, but this is your home too, remember?"
"I know..." Asia said quietly. "I'm still getting used to sleeping in such a big room by myself."
Her gaze lowered for a moment. "Did... did we ruin your date with Kiryuu-chan?"
Sun Jing scratched the back of her neck.
"No. Not really."
The answer felt more complicated than a simple yes or no.
"It's just..." She searched for the right words. "I don't think I'm cut out for that kind of stuff yet."
"I see..." Asia looked thoughtful.
Sun Jing rubbed the back of her neck again, feeling oddly awkward.
Trying to explain relationships to someone who had spent most of her life in a church wasn't exactly easy.
"It's not that anything went wrong," she said. "Aika's nice. Really nice. I like spending time with her. But whenever people start talking about dating and romance, I kind of draw a blank."
"In my opinion, you shouldn't force yourself." Asia tells her.
Sun Jing raised an eyebrow.
"Those kinds of feelings are important," Asia continued. "If you're unsure, then it's okay to take your time."
For a moment, Sun Jing simply stared at her. "That's actually pretty good advice."
A small smile appeared on Asia's face. "Thank you."
The two stood there quietly for another moment before Sun Jing reached over and gently patted her head again.
"Thanks, Asia. Good night."
"Good night, Sun Jing."

Sun Jing was teleported back into the dojo on the fifth floor, appearing in the same room where she had fought the swordsman guarding Wado Ichimonji. The room was completely empty now, with no sign of her former opponent or the pedestal that once held her sword.
She glanced around for a moment before heading toward the staircase leading to the newly unlocked floors. After climbing for several minutes, she eventually reached the large double doors leading into the sixth floor.
Sun Jing pushed them open and stepped inside.
Waiting for her was an entire army of samurai-type monsters. Twenty armored figures stood throughout the massive room, each carrying a different weapon ranging from katanas to spears.
[Defeat all 20 enemies to advance to Floor 7!]

"Just twenty enemies?" Sun Jing muttered as she reached for the Fairy Bow on her back. "I thought things would get harder the higher I get."
Sun Jing immediately drew back the bowstring as several arrows made from her pink magical power appeared between her fingers.
The arrows flew across the room and struck several of the approaching samurai. Pink explosions filled the area as pieces of armor and weapons scattered across the floor.

Sun Jing continued moving as the remaining enemies surrounded her. She jumped over the swing of a spear before firing another arrow directly into the samurai's chest.
The explosion sent several nearby enemies flying.

She continued firing arrows as she moved throughout the room, avoiding attacks and keeping her distance whenever the samurai attempted to surround her.
One arrow struck two enemies standing close together and exploded.
Another pierced directly through a samurai's helmet.
Sun Jing fired several more arrows into the air before watching them rain down across the battlefield.

Once the explosions stopped, Sun Jing lowered her bow and looked around at the six remaining samurai.
"That should be enough practice with the bow."
She returned the Fairy Bow to her back before reaching toward her inventory.
Sun Jing placed one hand against the sheath as the remaining samurai charged toward her.
She lowered her body slightly.
"Ittoryu Iai..." Sun Jing disappeared. "Daishinkan!"
She reappeared behind the group with Wado already partially returned to its sheath.
A moment later, their bodies were cut apart before disappearing into particles of light.

[Level Up!]
Sun Jing stood upright as she completely sheathed Wado Ichimonji.
"Not bad."
Another window appeared in front of her.

Sun Jing looked over her updated status before closing the window.
"I'll save the points for later."
The doors leading toward the seventh floor opened.
Sun Jing immediately started climbing the staircase, wanting to keep moving while she still had plenty of energy.
When she reached the seventh floor, she found herself standing inside a dark room covered in a thick layer of fog.
"Great. This isn't creepy at all."
Two figures slowly appeared through the fog.
Unlike the samurai she had fought before, these creatures had translucent bodies surrounded by a dark aura. Both carried massive scythes in their hands.
A notification appeared.
[Floor 7 Challenge]
[Defeat Two Samurai Wraiths!]
The first Samurai Wraith disappeared from her view. "Where did-"
She immediately leaned backward as a scythe passed inches above her face.
The second Wraith attacked from behind, Sun Jing ducked beneath its weapon before spinning around and driving her foot toward its chest.
Her leg passed directly through its body. "Huh?"
Sun Jing quickly pulled her leg back and jumped away as both Wraiths swung their scythes toward her.
She landed several feet away and stared at them. "Oh, right..."
She reached over her shoulder and pulled out the Fairy Bow.
"Physical attacks don't work on ghosts, do they?"
