Just before the ice could fully encase them, they shattered the obstacles around them and shot upward like two streaks of brilliant light.
Their combined impact caused the entire frozen mountain to explode into countless glittering ice crystals.
The shards drifted down like snow, shimmering with an blinding radiance under the sun...
"'What in the world is happening over there?!'"
Not just on their battlefield, but warriors from every corner of the mountain range turned their gaze toward the massive frozen peak.
To see an entire mountain frozen and then shattered into a river of stars... such a spectacle was beyond their wildest dreams.

Having escaped at the last second, Madara hovered high in the sky. Looking down at the ruins of the mountain destroyed by Kaoru's technique, a chill ran down his spine.

In an instant, Madara expended a massive amount of chakra. His purple eyes burned with intense power, and his hands formed dozens of complex, arcane hand seals!!!

Kaoru frowned, his Mangekyō Sharingan locking onto the technique above. He had seen Madara use this before when he was an Edo Tensei, but never with this scale of destruction.
RUMBLE!!!
For dozens of kilometers around, everyone looked up in horror. Under the gravitational pull of Madara's Rinnegan, the very air seemed to boil. A massive, ominous shadow began to spread across the sky.
Clouds were torn apart as colossal meteors, each hundreds of meters in diameter, broke through the atmosphere.
They descended with the force of an apocalypse, aimed not just at Kaoru, but at the entire battlefield below!!!
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Drawn by the immense gravity, the giant rocks plummeted toward the earth!
"'Look! What is that?!'"
Fighting stopped everywhere. All eyes turned to the darkening sky...
"'One... two... seven! There are seven huge meteors!!!'"
People were paralyzed with fear. Seven meteors over a hundred meters wide... if they fell, they wouldn't just destroy the battlefield—they would wipe out half of the Land of Lightning!!!

Feeling the air vibrate and the pressure slam against his body, Kaoru raised his scarlet eyes to gaze at the descending doom.
In both number and size, this far surpassed the technique Madara used previously.
Even Kaoru couldn't help but admit the sheer grandeur of it.
"'Is this... the power of a god?'"
Every ninja below looked up, their souls seemingly frozen. They forgot to breathe, forgotten to move.
"'They cover too much area... No one in the Alliance can escape... We're all finished...'"
Death was written on every face as the meteors drew near.
"'We have no way to stop such a jutsu...'" Ōnoki looked up in despair.
"'I only hope Kaoru can do something. Otherwise, the entire shinobi world... no, the whole world... will be destroyed here...'"
"'No. Even if the Sixth Hokage shatters them, the debris alone will kill us all...'" Mei Terumī swallowed hard.
"'That's right...'" Tsunade nodded grimly.
The meteors were simply too vast. Even if broken, the shower of fragments would be deadly. If allowed to fall intact, continents would shatter. Either way, it seemed certain death.
Faced with such overwhelming force, everyone felt small and insignificant.
Everyone, except Kaoru.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
"'Uchiha Kaoru! Now, perish along with your Alliance beneath these stars!!!'"
Madara's eyes glowed with a sinister purple light. He poured more power into his technique, accelerating the meteors directly toward Kaoru.
"'Hmph...'"
Kaoru frowned slightly. He had already thought of what Tsunade and the others were worried about.
His sister and friends were down there; he couldn't afford to simply destroy the meteors and risk harming them with the fallout.
"'In that case... defense is the best offense...'"
Floating alone against the sky, blue runes began to materialize and swirl around his body!
Lamb of God!!!
Channeling the mysterious power of his Mangekyō Sharingan, Kaoru gathered the blue symbols into his right hand.
He thrust it forward, and a massive shockwave exploded outward in all directions, rippling and distorting the very clouds!
"'What... what is this technique...?'"
Madara stared at the spreading blue formation, his voice low and hoarse.
"'What is that?!'"
Every ninja on the ground watched in a daze as the blue runes expanded, completely enveloping them.
Kaoru floated there like a deity, his right hand raised high. The blue barrier covered the entire battlefield and the Land of Lightning.
His eyes were calm, cold, and utterly indifferent as he stared up at the seven falling stars.
