Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Quitela’s Plan

"I think I've heard something about that."

Angel Cognac held his staff at his side. He had only heard about this matter in passing through conversations with his brothers and sisters.

"Then do you know the name of the disciple Beerus took in?"

"That I'm not too sure about. I only know that Lord Beerus and Whis accepted a disciple—nothing more."

Cognac wasn't lying. Among the angels, the identity of Universe 7's candidate God of Destruction had never been mentioned.

As for the candidate's talent… he had no idea whatsoever. The whole thing was wrapped in mystery.

"Then what about the clash between Universe 7 and Universe 6 a while back? Do you know what that was about?"

Quitela stepped forward, staring up at the sky with a puzzled expression.

Eight years ago, Beerus and his brother had erupted into a tremendous confrontation—so great that even the angels were forced to intervene.

After that, many gods whispered about the incident, yet neither universe revealed even the slightest detail.

It was far too suspicious.

"No idea."

Cognac was confused as well.

Rumor had it that his eldest sister had been present that day, but when he asked her, Kusu said nothing at all.

Silence drifted across the Realm of the God of Destruction of Universe 4.

"Lord Quitela, I also heard that Universe 11 has a candidate God of Destruction now…"

Cognac suddenly remembered something, but before he could finish—

Quitela waved a dismissive hand, the gleam in his eyes growing sharper and colder.

"I don't care about that clown. I'm far more interested in who Beerus's disciple is."

Back in the God of Destruction battle, the only one who walked away completely unscathed in the end was Vermoud.

But…

That was only because he played dead. That clown had never entered Quitela's eyes to begin with.

Noticing Quitela's expression, Cognac finally understood and spoke with careful gravity:

"Lord Quitela… I know the grudge between you and Lord Beerus. But you aren't planning on making a move against Universe 7's candidate God of Destruction… are you?"

Cats and mice were natural enemies—creatures born on opposite ends of the food chain.

Quitela and Beerus were no different. After years of accumulated hatred, they had always been hostile toward each other.

Of course, from Beerus's side, he might act hostile, but he barely cared about Quitela at all.

Perhaps because he was at the top of the food chain.

Perhaps because… he possessed absolute power.

But for Quitela, things were completely different.

If he ever had the chance to eliminate Beerus, Quitela would never show mercy.

"Lord Quitela, if you make a move personally against Universe 7's candidate, it'll spark a conflict between both universes!"

Cognac's tone grew increasingly serious.

"If the Grand Zeno blames you, you might not escape punishment!"

If Quitela were to act personally, Cognac would absolutely intervene. Of course, he didn't say that part aloud.

"Who said anything about me personally bullying a candidate God of Destruction?"

Quitela scoffed. "Aside from that cat Beerus, what other God of Destruction is even worth my time?"

"Then… what exactly do you intend to—"

Cognac didn't finish. His staff suddenly erupted with a blinding light.

"W-What is this?!"

Quitela recognized the light as well. Cold sweat poured down his face—his reaction was even worse than Beerus's would have been.

"Lord Quitela! By order of the Grand Zeno, all Gods of Destruction are to report to the Grand Zeno's Palace immediately. No delays permitted!"

Cognac read the message aloud.

"What?! Don't tell me it's that hide-and-seek game with the Grand Zeno again…"

"That, I'm not sure of."

Cognac himself was startled. He continued, "Lord Quitela, we need to depart. The Grand Zeno has ordered us not to be late."

"Wait!"

A flash of calculation passed through Quitela's eyes.

Calling all Gods of Destruction… meant Beerus and Whis would also leave Universe 7.

A universe without its rulers

A perfect opportunity.

"Cognac, send the Warp Cube to Orma immediately, and tell him—"

"Lord Quitela, are you insane? Orma is a third-stage divine-realm powerhouse! Are you truly planning to spark conflict between two universes?!"

"Tch. I'm not doing anything. Orma simply wants to challenge Universe 7's candidate God of Destruction. What does that have to do with me?"

He clearly understood an angel's limits—and so Quitela showed no fear whatsoever.

"...…"

Cognac lowered his voice. "Lord Quitela, are you certain about this?"

"Absolutely. Hurry, Cognac. We're leaving soon."

"…Fine. But if this causes a conflict between universes, Lord Quitela, you'll bear the consequences alone. I won't die anyway."

Cognac couldn't help sighing.

He was an angel—bound to neutrality, responsible for preventing battles between Gods of Destruction.

But…

Quitela was not personally fighting Beerus. He wasn't even lifting a finger.

Cognac's predicament was exactly like the scenario before the Tournament of Power

when Quitela incited Sidra of Universe 9 to send assassins after Frieza.

Quitela never acted directly, yet it still violated the Grand Zeno's decree.

But according to an angel's rules—Quitela still hadn't technically crossed the line.

Which meant Cognac had no choice but to obey.

"It's only a candidate God of Destruction, not a Supreme Kai. Nothing will happen. Relax, Cognac."

Quitela sighed. "Let me indulge myself just this once."

"...…"

Cognac didn't argue further. He raised his staff.

A Warp Cube lifted into the air, wrapped in silver light, then shot upward like a meteor.

"Lord Quitela, the order is carried out. We should head to the Grand Zeno's Palace."

"Then let's go."

Quitela sneered inwardly.

You think you'll surpass me before you've even taken on a disciple?

Keep dreaming.

A burst of rainbow-colored light ascended into the sky as the two of them departed for the Palace of the Grand Zeno.

At the highest authority center of the multiverse, countless streams of divine light descended one after another.

Angels and Gods of Destruction from every universe gathered.

The first to arrive was Universe 10. Then—

Universe 7.

Universe 6.

Universe 4 arrived last.

The moment Quitela landed, he saw Universe 10's Kusu and Rumsshi standing at the front.

He nodded at Kusu, then turned to look at Beerus crouched in the corner.

As expected, no other God of Destruction bothered acknowledging Beerus.

Reasonable enough—within the Grand Zeno's realm, nearly every God of Destruction bore a grudge against him.

"Lord Beerus, it seems we've been isolated," Whis whispered with a playful smile.

"Tch. A flock of nobodies. Who cares about their opinions?"

Beerus scoffed.

There he was, squatting alone in a corner, looking very much like he was the one being bullied.

Little did they know

they were lucky he wasn't the one bullying them.
