"Could it be… my father lied to me?"
Raditz's expression turned ugly as he glanced at Vegeta again.
"We'll find out soon enough," Vegeta replied calmly.
Arms folded across his chest, he kept his chin slightly raised, his face completely unreadable—no one could tell what he was thinking.
And the calmer he appeared, the more uneasy Raditz and Nappa felt.
Vegeta had come here for one reason: to obtain the method of transforming into a Super Saiyan. If he failed… if his temper snapped—no one here could stop him.
"They're here," Vegeta murmured.
The moment those words fell, Goku and the others descended, landing one after another on the barren ground.
From Goku's perspective, among the three, the strongest was the short one, followed by the bald giant, while the long-haired one was clearly the weakest.
Piccolo, meanwhile, observed them closely. According to what Lord Gran had told him, these three—and Goku and Gohan—belonged to the same race.
And now, seeing the tails wrapped around their waists, it was unmistakable.
Wait—
Piccolo suddenly recalled something.
Didn't Lord Gran also have a tail hidden at his waist…?
This…!
The two sides stood facing each other. The atmosphere in the wasteland grew suffocatingly tense.
"Hey—what's your purpose for coming to Earth?" Goku finally broke the silence.
"What do you mean 'hey'?"
Raditz frowned. He loosened the tail wrapped around his waist and let it sway behind him.
"Can't you see it? With a tail like this, you still don't recognize who we are?"
Goku and the Z Fighters all looked toward their waists.
The moment they saw the tails, shock surged through everyone—except Piccolo and Gohan.
Even Goku was stunned. He had only learned from Bulma that three powerful beings were coming to invade Earth—he never knew their identities.
"Goku… I remember you had a tail when you were little too," Krillin said in disbelief.
"Yeah," Goku nodded.
Yamcha's eyes widened. "So that means… you're the same race as them? Goku—you're not human?!"
"Kakarot… what's wrong with you?"
Vegeta stepped forward, puzzled. "Before any Saiyan is sent away, they're implanted with memories. But judging from you… it looks like you've completely forgotten that you're a Saiyan."
Kakarot…
A realization dawned on Goku.
No wonder Gran had always called him that—it all made sense now.
"Sorry," Goku said, scratching his head. "I hit my head when I was a kid, so I forgot everything from before."
"What did you just say?"
Raditz's voice dropped. "Then what about me? I'm Raditz—your older brother. Don't tell me you've forgotten me too?!"
"What?!"
Goku's eyes went wide.
"Yamcha… I didn't hear that wrong, right? He just said he's Goku's older brother?" Krillin asked, stunned.
"N-No… that's exactly what he said!" Yamcha swallowed hard.
One shocking revelation after another left the Z Fighters reeling.
Even Piccolo felt a sense of absurdity.
Wasn't this supposed to be an invasion? And now it had turned into a family reunion?
"Sorry," Goku said calmly after a moment. "I really don't remember any of that."
The three Saiyans exchanged glances, all seeing the same disbelief in each other's eyes.
A Saiyan… losing his memory from a fall?
Was this guy a joke?
"As expected of trash born with a power level of just two," Vegeta scoffed.
Nappa burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.
Even Raditz's face flushed red—having such a "pathetic" younger brother was downright humiliating.
Their mocking tone made Goku frown slightly.
They claimed to be his kin… but he felt no warmth from them. No sense of family.
"I don't care what race I belonged to before," Goku said evenly. "Right now, I'm an Earthling—and that won't change. So I'll ask again: what's your purpose here?"
Krillin and the others smiled instinctively.
That's the Goku we know.
Vegeta suppressed the irritation in his chest and got straight to the point.
"Kakarot, I'll ask you this—your father once predicted that you would one day become a Super Saiyan. Do you know how to achieve that transformation?"
Father… prophecy… Super Saiyan…
The Z Fighters were completely lost.
Goku, too, fell into deep thought.
Seeing him thinking, Vegeta and the others didn't interrupt.
After a while, Goku looked up.
"So you came all this way… just to learn how to become a Super Saiyan?"
"Yes."
Vegeta's voice turned heavy.
"Long ago, our Saiyan race was wiped out by Frieza. He is our sworn enemy. I need to achieve the Super Saiyan transformation… so I can go back and take revenge!"
As his words fell, hatred flared in Raditz and Nappa's eyes.
The Z Fighters were stunned at first… then a strange realization crept in.
These "invaders"… didn't seem to be here to destroy Earth.
They were here for an answer.
Did that mean… if Goku told them how to become a Super Saiyan, they would simply leave?
"Kakarot, I know what you're worried about," Raditz sighed. "If you know, just tell us. Once we have the answer, we'll leave. We won't interfere with your lives."
Nappa glanced at Raditz but didn't object.
Years ago, they had gathered a group of Saiyans—but all of them died in the assault on Frieza's headquarters.
Another low-class warrior like Kakarot—born with a power level of two—would be useless to them.
If anything, he might just hold them back.
Better to leave him behind… perhaps he could become the last remaining spark of their race.
"Your brother's right," Nappa added. "Say it. Once we have the answer, we're gone."
Vegeta glanced down at the ground.
This planet… was also that woman's home.
He had no intention of causing destruction here.
High above, Gran listened to everything.
It seemed… these Saiyans really had changed.
"Lord Gran, see? Vegeta really isn't a bad person. Maybe you shouldn't—"
Tights clutched her sister's hand tightly to keep from falling, but before she could finish—
"Shut up. Say one more word, and I'll erase you."
Gran's voice was ice-cold.
