Chapter 344 - Chapter 344: What Is Beerus’s Real Purpose?

After passing through the barrier of Universe 7, the Universe Travel Cube continued warping forward for some distance before quickly entering Universe 6.

Gran did not stop.

He continued controlling the cube as it sped toward the God of Destruction Realm of Universe 6.

Not long afterward, Gran arrived at Universe 6's Destroyer Realm.

He descended onto the ground and glanced around him.

Back when he and Quitela had fought in Universe 6, the entire universe had practically been blown apart.

Yet now, the Destroyer Realm had completely returned to its original appearance.

"I remember I also blew up Universe 5 back then… I wonder if Universe 5's Supreme Kai and God of Destruction have been revived yet?"

Gran stood beside the lake, deep in thought.

Just then, a fat cat burst out from the God of Destruction Palace.

Its speed was astonishing.

In the blink of an eye, it crashed straight into Gran.

BOOM!

The collision produced a terrifying shockwave that caused the surrounding space itself to crack apart.

"GRAN!!!"

The fat cat was none other than Champa.

He clung onto Gran like a ragged cloth, his expression overflowing with excitement.

"You finally came back!"

If an ordinary person had suffered a collision like that, they would have exploded into a cloud of blood mist on the spot.

But to Gran, that level of force was nothing.

"Yeah, I'm back, Lord Champa."

Gran allowed Champa to hang from him.

A year and a half ago, Champa had repeatedly tried to disregard Zeno's orders and interfere in the battle between Gran and Quitela.

Every time Gran recalled it, he still felt touched.

At that moment, Vados slowly walked out from the palace as well.

When she arrived before Gran and saw Champa hanging off him, the corner of her mouth twitched slightly.

Vados shifted her gaze away and looked directly at Gran.

"When did you return?"

"Uh… it's been a little while."

Gran sounded slightly guilty.

He really had returned quite some time ago, but he had been too busy watching the beginning of the Dragon Ball Z storyline and completely forgot to inform Champa and the others.

"What do you mean by that?"

Champa jumped off Gran and stared at him suspiciously.

"Don't tell me you've been back for a long time already?"

"..."

Gran awkwardly scratched his head before nodding.

"Brat! We were so worried about you, and you completely forgot about us?!"

Champa grabbed Gran by the collar and huffed angrily.

Gran gently removed Champa's hands and quickly changed the subject.

"Lord Champa, I actually came here this time because I have something important to do."

Hearing that, Champa finally let go.

"What now? Don't tell me you're planning to collect the Super Dragon Balls again?"

"Not this time."

"Then why exactly did you come to my place?"

"..."

Gran frowned slightly.

Judging from Champa's reaction, he clearly knew nothing about Gran's visit.

So why had Beerus specifically told him to come here?

Champa looked confused.

"Didn't you say you had something to do? Then say it already!"

Even Vados found Gran's silence rather strange.

Gran scratched his head again.

"To be honest… I don't actually know why I came here either."

"???"

Champa and Vados exchanged looks, both seeing the confusion in each other's eyes.

"Well, here's what happened…"

Gran explained how Beerus had told him to come to Universe 6.

After hearing everything, the master and attendant pair became even more puzzled.

Because they genuinely had no idea about any of this.

"What exactly is that skinny bastard planning? I never told you to come here!"

Champa rubbed his chin and sank into deep thought.

Gran also frowned.

Could it be that Beerus simply wanted him to personally reassure Champa that he had safely returned?

But would that really require him to come all the way here?

Whis and Vados could communicate directly anytime.

Vados pondered for a moment before speaking thoughtfully:

"If Lord Beerus told you to come here, then he must have some kind of intention behind it. If you're not in a hurry to return, perhaps you should stay here for a while. I have a feeling we'll discover the answer soon enough."

Champa immediately nodded his plump head vigorously.

"Right, right! Gran, why don't you stay here a little longer?"

As he said that, Champa licked his lips.

As long as Gran stayed around, he would get to eat plenty of delicious food.

Seeing Champa's expression, Gran instantly understood what the fat cat was thinking and couldn't help laughing.

"Alright then. I'm not particularly busy these days anyway, so I'll trouble Lord Champa and Miss Vados for a while."

Back then, Gran had promised the Great Elder of Namek a favor.

If nothing unexpected happened, the Great Elder would likely use that promise during the Namek Saga.

Gran knew Bulma and the others still needed around a month to reach Planet Namek, so there was no need for him to rush back.

"No trouble at all! No trouble at all!"

Champa was so happy he looked like a two-hundred-pound child bouncing around in excitement.

"What an idiot…"

Vados covered her face helplessly, completely speechless at Champa's childish behavior.

Thus, Gran temporarily settled down in Universe 6's Destroyer Realm.

On the very first day of his stay, Gran began preparing all kinds of delicious dishes.

Champa was ecstatic.

He felt that convincing Gran to stay had been the greatest decision of his life.

Every time Gran made a new dish, Champa devoured it immediately.

By the end of the day, his stomach had swollen into a perfectly round ball.

On the second day, the moment Champa woke up, he immediately ran to Gran asking for more food.

Since Champa treated him so well, Gran naturally pampered the big fat cat quite a bit.

As long as it was within his ability, he fulfilled almost every request.

And since he knew countless recipes, he prepared many dishes completely different from the previous day.

Third day...

Fourth day...

After two weeks passed, a gigantic fat cat weighing over three hundred pounds had appeared in the Destroyer Realm.

Even while sitting at the dining table, Champa still wanted to continue eating.

"Lord Champa, look at how fat you've become! And you still want to eat more?"

Vados scolded him sharply.

Hearing that, Champa immediately shuddered and pitifully looked toward Gran.

"Looking at me won't help, Lord Champa. You really have been overeating lately."

Gran sat across from him, calmly sipping tea from a cup.

"But I'm still hungry…"

Champa puffed out his cheeks miserably.

"How about this?"

Gran set down his teacup, stood up from his chair, and loosened his fists.

"Lord Champa, lose a little weight first. Then you can continue eating the food I make."

"Lose weight?"

Champa frowned.

"How?"

Vados chuckled softly from the side.

"Didn't you see Gran stretching just now?"

"What?!"

Champa instantly jumped to his feet and pointed at Gran before pointing at himself.

"You want me to fight you?!"
