Chapter 44 - Ch.44

While walking Xiao Xue home, I received a transfer from her.

Seeing the amount, I was stunned and sent a message asking if she had made a mistake.

She quickly replied, saying no.

I stared blankly at the thousand yuan, then looked at Xiao Xue, and suddenly felt a bit like I had sold her for a thousand dollars.

Xiao Xue had her head drooped, clearly quite exhausted by that woman. Looking at her, I suddenly felt a pang of sympathy, but then I remembered how frisky and naughty she had been before, and I couldn't help but grit my teeth: I must not be soft-hearted!

Ahem, I certainly wasn't doing it for the money.

Back home, I poured dog food into Xiao Xue's bowl, but I noticed she wasn't very keen on it.

Compared to dog food, I felt Xiao Xue had a greater fondness for carbohydrates, which I could tell because she always ate my noodles, buns, and steamed bread faster.

I also ate my dinner, then took a shower. Although my left hand was still somewhat inconvenient, I could overcome it; it was much better already.

In the evening, a book titled Compendium of Plants lay on my desk.

For some unknown reason, I had developed a strong interest in it. I turned on the desk lamp. The warm orange light spread over the pages, and the aromatic words drew me in. I couldn't help but immerse myself...

The next day.

"Beep beep beep..."

It was the weekend—a rare day of rest for the notoriously strict and harsh 'Old Nun' (Bai Manwen).

She was currently lounging lazily in the bathtub, taking a bath. From the outside, it was blurry and indistinct, but the occasional flash of pale, alluring skin accompanying the sound of water was highly tempting.

Bai Manwen was comfortably soaking in the bath when a sudden phone call disturbed her tranquility, which made her slightly displeased.

Although it was normal for a homeroom teacher to receive calls frequently, she hadn't had a good rest recently, so she felt particularly resentful towards the person who had abruptly interrupted her relaxation. She was too lazy to answer and let it ring. She leaned languidly in the bathtub, moving her hands on the water surface, gently rubbing shampoo onto the pair of mountains on her chest. Although she was over forty, her beautiful breasts were exceptionally well-maintained, full and rounded, with deep red buds blossoming like corollas on the snow-white mountains.

Gently caressing her bosom brought a subtle, strange sensation. But then, unpleasant memories surfaced. The thought of that person made Bai Manwen grit her teeth. No one had ever treated her like that in her life. Even her husband had to be cautious and gentle, looking at her expression, never daring to use force, especially with her beautiful breasts, which he meticulously protected, never daring to knead them forcefully. But she had been treated that way by that person.

Thinking of this, she involuntarily thought of her husband, and a wave of anger surged again. She never expected her husband, who was always subservient and honest in front of her, to betray her. If it weren't for the fact that they were currently in the same boat (bound together by a secret), she would definitely make him pay the price, given her personality.

However, the annoying ringing outside continued, making her mood very foul. It had been going on for ten minutes. Who was so relentless?

"What is it?"

Frowning, Bai Manwen rose from the bathtub. Instantly, her perfect, curvy body emerged from the water, splashing water everywhere. The water on her skin "neither formed into drops nor ran down in streams." In a chemistry teacher's terms, the "beaker" was perfectly clean.

At this moment, she looked like a mermaid rising from the water.

It must be said that Bai Manwen was well-preserved. Not only were her breasts firm, but her buttocks were also exceptionally plump, full behind her, like a large white pear. They had not sagged from years of sitting at her office desk. When she walked, her chest was turbulent, and her buttocks generated waves of white, visibly soft and elastic.

The jungle beneath her crotch was lush and verdant, the hair extremely thick, with a bright, rich sheen. Hidden within was a deep red valley that, as her white legs crossed back and forth, would momentarily appear and disappear, emitting an indescribable temptation.

She glanced at the phone. It was an unfamiliar number, likely a student's parent.

Reaching out, she picked up the phone and hit the answer button.

"Hello? Who is this?" Her tone was not pleasant. She wanted to see what was so important that the person insisted on calling for so long.

"Hello, Teacher. I'm Lin Nan's mother. I wanted to ask about his recent situation."

"What?" Hearing that intensely hated name again, an irrepressible anger flared up in Bai Manwen's heart. Her entire current predicament was caused by one person: Lin Nan. She felt no goodwill toward anything related to him.

"I don't know," Bai Manwen said, almost suppressing her rage.

"What do you mean, you don't know, Teacher Bai?" The voice on the other end sounded confused.

"I don't mean anything..." Bai Manwen sneered a few times. She wanted to say something, but then she remembered Lin Nan's previous call, and her words ultimately dissolved into a cold huff: "Your son is doing fine with his studies, everything is the same."

"Teacher Bai, what exactly is the situation?" The voice on the phone seemed to detect the displeasure in her tone and became slightly anxious.

But Bai Manwen didn't want to talk to the person anymore. Her anger was on the verge of eruption. She simply took her phone, pressed the hang-up button, and threw the phone onto the sofa.

"Hoo..."

Bai Manwen closed her eyes and took several deep breaths. Lin Nan, Lin Nan, why did she keep encountering him everywhere?

The call had instantly ruined her relaxation. She no longer had the desire to soak in the bath. She quickly walked into the shower, rinsed off the remaining shower gel, dried herself with a towel, got dressed, and walked out.

Silence returned to the room. At this point, a man opened the door from another room, cautiously poking his head out, looking around, and only relaxing after confirming the woman had left.

"Phew... That bitch is finally gone..."

Mu Feipeng, who was authoritarian and imposing at school, was utterly humiliated at home.

Just think, Mu Feipeng was a respected figure everywhere he went outside. If he wanted to, he could easily pick up a gentle, skilled woman and take her to bed that night for a night of pleasure. Wouldn't that be a carefree life?

Alas, with a tigress guarding the house, he had the intention but lacked the courage, always sneaking around. After managing to sneak around a few times, he was discovered.

The mere thought of Bai Manwen's face made Mu Feipeng shiver.

Reaching this level of fear of his wife, he was probably the number one in the entire Yunlong City No. 1 High School.

He gave a self-deprecating laugh. Only then did Mu Feipeng dare to enter the kitchen, scavenging for Bai Manwen's leftovers to hastily fill his stomach. Soon, he had to get dressed up to attend a meeting with the other teachers.

Thinking about the respect he commanded outside contrasted with the humiliation he endured at home, Mu Feipeng couldn't help but grit his teeth. Yet, the thought of Bai Manwen's face forced him to shake his head helplessly. However, a poisonous seed of resentment was planted in his heart. He clearly had his own plans. On the surface, he dared not defy Bai Manwen, but in private, he was an entirely different person.

After eating, Mu Feipeng changed his clothes and left the house.

And so, the couple, each harboring their own hidden agendas, left the house one after the other, preoccupied with their own schemes.

"Bang..."

Meanwhile, in a private office in a large skyscraper, Ning Yao knocked over the tea on her desk due to overly vigorous movement. Her secretary quickly came over to wipe the water off the desk.

At the same time, the secretary felt a slight confusion. Since following Ning Yao, she had never seen her lose her composure like this. She wondered what had happened, likely related to that phone call.

"Xiao Ya, prepare the car. I need to go out." Ning Yao realized her lapse in composure. She took a few deep breaths and quickly regained her calmness.

"But, you have a new project scheduled to be discussed in just half an hour, it was already agreed upon."

Xiao Ya was a woman in her early twenties, with delicate features and short, capable-looking hair. Seeing her Boss like this, she tried to dissuade her.

"Then postpone it. I have something important to do," Ning Yao said softly.

"But..." Xiao Ya hesitated for a long time. She knew that securing this project would significantly advance Ning Yao's progress. She couldn't believe her boss, a notorious workaholic, would make such an irrational decision, especially at this critical juncture.

"Hurry up." Ning Yao slightly frowned. Seeing Xiao Ya still hesitating, her voice became severe and brooked no argument.

"Yes, I'll go right away."

Seeing Ning Yao's expression, Xiao Ya quickly stood up, no longer daring to question her decision, and left to make the arrangements.

"Hoo..." It was only after Xiao Ya left that Ning Yao noticed how quickly her heart was beating.

That bandaged figure was still vivid in her memory, preventing her heart from finding peace. His action with the clothes pole felt as if it had stabbed straight through the screen and into her very heart...

A short while later, a black Mercedes, Ning Yao's favorite color—reliable and steady—sped out from beneath the skyscraper.

But at this moment, her heart was anything but steady. It had been a long time since the surveillance was destroyed. Due to her busy schedule all these days, she hadn't checked until now.

Sitting in the car, watching the scenery flash by outside the window, her mind was a mess...

I woke up early, washed and dressed. After eating breakfast, I took Xiao Xue and rode the bus to Chen Shi's tutoring center.

Although Chen Shi could have given me a ride, I certainly didn't have the nerve. Not only was I hesitant to be the third wheel between Chen Shi and Chen Ge's intimate relationship, but being around such wealthy people also made me feel out of place. She might say she didn't care, but I couldn't act like I didn't.

Arriving at the location, I walked up with Xiao Xue, attracting a lot of attention along the way, as Xiao Xue looked simply too beautiful.

I felt vaguely nervous. A strange feeling appeared in my heart, as if I was unworthy of Xiao Xue.

Stepping quickly into the classroom, I saw Chen Shi standing at the podium preparing lessons. Quite a few people had already arrived and were asking her questions.

In fact, it wasn't just questions. I noticed Chen Shi could answer a wide range of topics. She seemed to be like that with everyone, chatting broadly but always with restraint, absolutely never crossing the line.

She was like the long dress she wore: passionate, yet reserved and proper.

However, I had rarely seen her open side; it must have been reserved only for Chen Ge.

In my opinion, this was the manifestation of true love. Many people say that traditional romance is practically non-existent now, but I think if Chen Shi and Chen Ge's relationship wasn't incestuous as I suspected, they would be the perfect model couple.

She saw me arrive, asked the students to wait for a moment, and came down, smiling and petting Xiao Xue's head.

Many students were curious about Xiao Xue and gathered around to pet her. Although most people were extremely gentle, a few were malicious, handling her roughly, causing Xiao Xue to whimper uncomfortably a few times.

I saw it and felt a wave of anger. The old me might have hesitated, but not anymore.

I reached out, pulled Xiao Xue closer to me, and said calmly, "Don't hurt Xiao Xue..."

The room instantly fell silent. Then, a large group of people left, losing interest, muttering things like I was petty, or why was I acting so proud over just a dog?

I didn't care what they said. To the current me, these people mattered far less than Xiao Xue in my heart.

"It's fine to pet her gently, but rough handling is not allowed." I ignored their comments and raised my voice slightly.

At that, even fewer people came forward to pet Xiao Xue.

I was momentarily stunned, and then felt a little uneasy. Did I act too aggressively?

Chen Shi looked at me with a smile, leaning closer to whisper, "Don't worry too much about what others think."

I was startled. I looked up at her. She was still smiling warmly at me. At that moment, an unprecedented feeling bolstered me, giving me immense confidence and courage.

"Mhm," I nodded softly.

Then Chen Shi took Xiao Xue away, saying she would ask a colleague to look after her.

Adult teachers should be much gentler and more careful with the dog than the children. It should be fine, especially since Chen Shi was the owner of the tutoring center—no one would dare to misbehave.

Moreover, having the dog in the classroom would undoubtedly distract some students and affect their learning efficiency, so Chen Shi's action was understandable.

A moment later, Chen Shi returned to the podium, took out her textbook, and began writing on the blackboard with chalk.

I looked at the elegant handwriting she left on the blackboard and felt a moment of reflection.

Honestly, I deeply respected teachers who still insisted on lecturing themselves, rather than those who only read off a PowerPoint, which might be a vintage item from a few years ago or even earlier. Some teachers seemed to have only two things to do in class: open the PPT and read it aloud.

Fortunately, being in the Rocket Class, my teachers were generally excellent, each with their unique teaching philosophy, and naturally didn't just follow the crowd.

In fact, there was one teacher who read off a PPT before I arrived, but he was quickly transferred away.

That teacher wasn't entirely bad; his teaching was okay, but just okay. In the context of the Rocket Class teachers, he seemed a bit out of his depth. He taught us mathematics, and our math scores were relatively low among the other Rocket Classes. Then, he was transferred out of our class.

The prevailing rumor later was that the 'Old Nun' Bai Manwen was dissatisfied with his students' performance and successfully petitioned to have him transferred.

Bai Manwen's opinions were rarely ignored; she had that much influence. Many of the suggestions she had made over the years were adopted, such as not turning on the hot air conditioning in winter, and not stacking books too high on the desk, etc. We were the first class to be required to follow these, but later I noticed other classes also adopted these rules, likely initiated by Bai Manwen.

Perhaps from an adult's perspective, the stricter the teacher, the better, but I was not a parent; I was a student.

"Please turn to page 102 of your textbook..."

Chen Shi's voice brought me back. I stopped overthinking and focused on listening. Her voice was high-pitched, melodious, and infectious, quickly drawing me into the lesson.
