Previous Story
Kasana woke up, not remembering at all why she was lying on the green ground. Kasana went to the ruined kingdom to look for food, but upon arriving, she did not receive food but an unpleasant welcome from the residents. Kasana left with a sad feeling and took shelter under a tree. Kasana got an apple. Not long after, a wild boar attacked Kasana, and she managed to defeat it. Two more ferocious animals, a wild boar and a bear, came. After a chase to the old kingdom, a small child fell from a tree. Kasana saw this, saved the child, and helped pick fruit. Upon returning to the kingdom, the situation remained tense, and the small child protected Kasana.
The story begins
Kasana and Ellen stared at each other. Not long after, the princess held Ellen's hand.
Princess: "Please lower your sword, Ellen."
Ellen looked at the princess and sighed, lowering her sword.
Ellen: "Very well, Princess, I cannot refuse your order."
Princess: "Thank you, Ellen."
Ellen looked back into Kasana's eyes.
Ellen: "So, what do you want here, witch?"
Kasana: "I'm just bringing your princess back to the castle; I will leave immediately."
Kasana handed the basket of fruit to the princess and walked away from the kingdom. Before Kasana got far, the princess handed the basket of fruit to Ellen, approached Kasana, and held her hand.
Princess: "It seems the wound on your arm is quite bad. How about resting here for a bit while the doctor treats you?"
The princess pulled Kasana's hand to the doctor's place. When they arrived at the clinic, Kasana sat on the bed, and the doctor applied medicine to the wound on Kasana's arm.
Kasana: "Ouch... That hurts."
Doctor: "Please bear with it for a moment. This wound is quite wide, and if not treated, it could get worse, or perhaps you prefer another method?"
Kasana, hearing that, felt confused by the 'other method'.
Kasana: "'Another method'?"
Doctor: "Yes, we can use a syringe to put you to sleep."
Kasana panicked and tried to pull her hand away, but couldn't, as the doctor held Kasana's arm tightly.
Kasana: "No... I don't want an injection! Let go, let go!"
The doctor looked at Kasana's behavior with surprise.
Doctor: "You're a witch, calm down a little. If you still don't calm down, I will really inject you."
Kasana immediately fell silent. The doctor applied the medicine again to Kasana's wound.
Doctor: "That's better."
Time passed. Kasana came out of the clinic, her injured arm bandaged. The princess, seeing Kasana had left the clinic, approached her.
Princess: "Come with me, witch. My mother wants to talk to you."
Kasana was confused about why the queen would want to meet her. Kasana spoke while being led by the princess.
Kasana: "Is there a specific reason why I have to meet the Queen?"
The princess answered Kasana's question.
Princess: "I don't know either. Doesn't it sound good? Mother is looking for you, perhaps to repay your kindness for saving me. Come on quickly, Mother must be waiting."
Kasana and the Princess arrived inside the somewhat ruined palace. Upon entering the throne room, Kasana and the Queen stared at each other. The Queen, seeing Kasana's face, became anxious and tightly gripped the chair.
Queen: "My dear daughter, could you step outside for a moment? I want to talk privately with this witch."
The princess nodded, understanding the Queen's words.
Princess: "Very well, Mother."
The princess left the throne room. Kasana was just confused, looking at the Queen.
Kasana: "Um... What did you want to discuss here?"
The Queen stood up from the chair and approached Kasana, touching both of Kasana's cheeks with her hands.
Kasana: "Queen, what are you doing?"
The Queen looked at Kasana's face seriously and continued to touch Kasana's cheeks.
Queen: "I seem to have seen you before."
Kasana was confused by the Queen's words.
Kasana: "Queen, I don't even remember you. You must have the wrong person; someone just looks very much like me, or perhaps my beauty has made the Queen fall in love with me."
The Queen finally remembered something.
Queen: "I remember, you were the one that rogue king brought here."
The Queen released her hands from Kasana's cheeks and knelt down to Kasana.
Queen: "I apologize for the incident that happened back then. Please, don't attack our kingdom again. I will give you anything, just don't attack this kingdom again."
Kasana was confused by the Queen's words and felt guilty seeing the Queen kneeling before her.
Kasana: "Could you please stand up? I look like a repulsive villain."
The Queen immediately stood up and held both of Kasana's shoulders.
Queen: "Do you forgive me for not saving you?"
Kasana: "Could you tell me about the incident you are referring to, Queen?"
The Queen looked at Kasana in surprise.
Queen: "Are you serious that you don't know?"
Kasana: "Yes, I don't know."
The Queen immediately told Kasana about the incident, from when Kasana was put in prison until a month passed.
Queen: "A month later, when my daughter and I were walking in the city, explosions occurred everywhere, and many fires burned the residents' houses. At that moment, I looked up at the sky and saw a woman flying. I couldn't see her clearly because of the sun. After the chaos ended, that strange king died, and I took back control of this kingdom."
Queen: "So, how is it? Do you forgive me?"
Kasana answered in a despondent tone.
Kasana: "Yes..."
The Queen was happy to hear that.
Queen: "That's good. So, what do you ask for?"
Kasana felt confused.
Kasana: "What do you mean, what I ask for?"
Queen: "Of course, my gratitude for you not attacking this kingdom again and for saving my daughter. Just tell me what you want to ask for."
Kasana's stomach rumbled. The Queen, hearing it, just chuckled softly.
Queen: "I think I know what you wish for."
The sound of a door opening was heard. The Queen and Kasana saw the Princess enter.
Queen: "Perfect timing, my daughter, come here."
The Princess approached the Queen: "What is it, Mother?"
Queen: "Didn't you want to learn to cook? Come, my daughter, let's cook together, and the witch will help you cook."
The Princess was happy because someone wanted to help her cook. The Princess immediately took Kasana's hand.
Princess: "Come on, Witch, let's cook together."
Kasana: "Me, cooking?"
The Queen approached Kasana and whispered.
Queen: "Don't worry, many servants will supervise you. You just need to accompany the Princess."
The Princess and Kasana entered the kitchen. The two of them tried to make small cakes that exceeded the limits of the recipe in the book. Chaos ensued. The servants, who were initially only watching from afar, immediately helped Kasana and the Princess make the small cakes. Time passed. The oven finished baking the small cakes. Kasana took the cakes from the oven and placed them on the table.
Princess: "They look very delicious. Let's eat together, Witch."
Kasana: "Yes..."
Kasana and the Princess ate the cakes they had made, and they tasted very good.
Princess: "This is so delicious."
Kasana replied to the Princess's words.
Kasana: "Yes, it is delicious."
In the back, many servants were exhausted from helping the Princess and Kasana make the cakes. One of the servants was still working, taking cakes from the oven and placing them on the table.
Servant 1: "Excuse me, Princess, what should we do with this many cakes?"
The Princess looked at the servant.
Princess: "Please wrap these cakes to be shared with everyone, including my mother."
Servant 1: "Very well, Princess, please wait a moment."
Many exhausted servants returned to work, preparing wrappers for the cakes. Finally, all the cakes were wrapped. The Princess distributed the cakes to all the servants.
Princess: "These are for you too. Thank you for helping me. Come on, Witch, let's also give some to Mother."
The Princess pulled Kasana's hand and walked toward the Queen's location, and the two servants used a trolley to carry many cakes. Upon arriving at the Queen's location, the Princess hugged the Queen and gave her one packet of cake.
Princess: "This cake is for you, Mother."
The Queen accepted the cake from the Princess.
Queen: "Thank you, my daughter."
The Queen kissed the Princess's forehead and ate the cake. The Princess, seeing the Queen eat, felt nervous.
Princess: "How does it taste, Mother?"
The Queen felt happy.
Queen: "It's delicious."
The Princess was overjoyed and felt happy. The Queen approached Kasana.
Queen: "Thank you for playing with my daughter. My daughter is always alone; no one wants to play with her."
Kasana was surprised to hear that.
Kasana: "Why doesn't anyone want to play with her?"
Queen: "It's obvious because her own father held power so poorly, making all the residents hate us. After he died due to the riot incident, I took back control of the kingdom and restored unity between me and all my citizens."
The Princess immediately held Kasana's hand and went out of the palace in the afternoon, returning to the Queen's perspective.
Queen: "Hmph... What should I do? Should I be happy because I could seize power and unite this kingdom with all its residents, or should I be sad about the chaos and explosions that occurred here, making my citizens live in hardship? At least we will proceed. I hope this incident will improve."
Returning to Kasana and the Princess's perspective, the Princess successfully distributed to the residents.
Resident 1: "Thank you, Princess, for giving us this cake."
Princess: "You're welcome."
Meanwhile, Kasana had no one to give cakes to among the residents because all the residents were still afraid of the witch. Kasana put the cakes back into the trolley with a sigh.
Kasana: "Hmph..."
Two servants approached Kasana.
Servant 1: "You look so gloomy."
Servant 2: "I can help you so that the residents are not afraid of you."
Kasana looked at the two servants.
Kasana: "How?"
Servant 1 took out a servant's uniform. Kasana could only stare at the clothing.
Kasana: "Where did you bring those clothes from? I didn't see you carrying any bags at all."
Servant 2: "Don't worry about that. The important thing is to quickly change your clothes. The Princess wants to share the cakes right next to you."
The two servants held both of Kasana's arms and went to a narrow alley.
Kasana: "No way am I changing clothes here! Let go of me, I'm so embarrassed!"
Servant 1: "No one is looking except us."
Servant 2: "We will quickly get you changed."
Finally, Kasana wore the servant's uniform and a wig, standing beside the Princess. The Princess was happy to see that.
Princess: "It looks very suitable."
Kasana felt embarrassed by the servant's uniform she was wearing, but when Kasana and the Princess distributed cakes again, a resident came up to Kasana and accepted the cake happily.
Time passed. The next morning, Kasana and the Queen were in front of the palace.
Kasana: "Thank you, Queen, for letting me stay here for one day. I think I have to go."
The Queen was surprised to hear that.
Queen: "Why?"
Kasana: "I still need to find out about my lost memories."
Queen: "Does that involve crossing the border to another kingdom?"
Kasana: "As long as I can find the answer, maybe yes, I will search all the kingdoms."
The Queen could only nod.
Queen: "I can't stop you. My daughter will surely be sad; she hasn't had anyone to play with for so long, and then you leave so quickly. So, what is your request?"
Kasana: "Wasn't it for food yesterday?"
Queen: "That wasn't your request; you were simply hungry."
Kasana: "In that case, I just want to ask for help with the items I need for my journey."
Queen: "Wait a moment; we will prepare them."
The Queen ordered the servant beside her. When the servant returned, she handed a sling bag. Inside were food items like bread, the cakes the Princess made, a pouch of coins, and a map of the island.
Queen: "Here you go. I hope this helps you on your journey."
Kasana: "Thank you."
Kasana put on the sling bag and left the palace, sneaking out so that no residents would see her. Finally, Kasana walked away from the kingdom, looking at the map. When Kasana put the map back into the bag, there were many wild animals behind her. Kasana ran to save herself from the wild animals. Accidentally, while running, there was a strong wind, and Kasana's hat, which was lost yesterday while fighting the wild boar, was suddenly back on Kasana's head due to the strong wind.
Kasana: "I almost forgot about you. It's so strange for a hat to return on its own."
To be continued
The story continues, showing Kasana's storybook 3: accompanying the princess to play. Kasana brought the princess back to the kingdom. There, the Princess pulled Kasana's hand because the Queen wanted to meet Kasana. Upon arriving at the throne room, the Queen was waiting for Kasana. The Queen told Kasana to play with her daughter. Kasana could only accept. Kasana and the Princess made cakes and distributed them to everyone. Time passed. The next morning, Kasana began her adventure to search for her lost memories.
