The night moved and the light dwindled with the rays breaking the silence of loud chatters.
The wind knocked on the window and Vael's eyes gradually opened, he looked at his side and saw Violet's face, a quiet picture mixed with colors he couldn't see.
He looked at hair, when the light touched the strand they reflected like light dancing on a river stream.
The gentle winds caressing her hair brought a fragrance that calmed a storm he was holding back with every breath.
The clock hands moved and they were ready to start the journey.
Violet woke up and got ready, her mana was almost replenished.
Violet and Vael went to a store and brought some clothes, and she brought a leather satchel and packed the clothes.
"So, you're done with preparation?" Vael muttered, meanwhile Violet slowly walked by his side with bandages around her.
"Not yet, I still need some medicine and a weapon." Violet was looking at her hand and then clenched her fist—
The night that made her slip between worlds still haunted her, she can still see Luciel before her, injured, covered in blood—
She should feel her heart ache when she realised no matter how much she tries the chains on her always pull her neck down.
"So, what was that spell you used on that man? That Ice... It's similar to—" Vael mind was creating questions before the thoughts but he knows his doubts were quite far from Violet.
"Ice spell?" Violet eyes slowly squinted with muffled voice—
"Yeah— wait... you don't remember?" Vael stopped.
"No, everything in mind is like torn picture book." Violet stared at Vael face seeking answers on his face, but to her surprise there were only more questions.
"Hmm, I did not see everything, all I saw was you on the ground." Vael sighed and realised the Violet pasts hid more secrets than the memories.
"I see, it's not the first time. Mr. Raven had said before my hands sometimes turned really cold when I tried using another spell, he said it was like I am going against my nature.
I thought it was because of illness but it's weird, I can't really use any spell it's only like trying to throw stone only to find you had snow in your hands all along."
She had a small chuckle, but both of them knew it wasn't humorous but curtained for it.
"Well let's not ponder on the past, we have a destination to reach! I can't delay it more than it already is!" Her steps found a new strength as they pushed the soil beneath them.
Vael exhaled and moved the winds behind her.

Violet's PoV
Vael took to me the apothecary I got treated last night.
It was a dark alley, deep within the village.
The rats and stray animals ruled the alley, the cobbltestones were still wet with some mud and grime because of the shower last night.
There were not any windows in the alley like they feared it would only bring problems more than the winds.
We reached
the wooden door, we entered and smell of dried herbs and concoctions filled my nose.
Vael closed his nose and squinted, maybe for his sharp nose was amplifying the effect many times.
"Where are you weasel!" Vael yelled—
"Don't yell you bitch! How many times do I need to tell you don't yell in my haven!" A hunched man slowly crawled out of the basement.
His face was covered with covered in hair with small ears on his head, he was wearing strings of leaves and belt with vials on them.
"I am male you weasel fucker! Also I am a wolf! From the strongest of bloodline of ancient beast!" Vael opened his mouth with his teeth out.
"And I am an otter Beastkin!" He retorted, I stood there silently until his gaze struck me.
"Look at you... So you are fixed huh? You looked really beaten up when this puppy brought you..." He scanned me from head to toe and then turned his back with a scoff.
"Wolf! Wolf!" Vael stomped on floor.
"Mr. Keeran, can you get me some herbs or medicine like the recipe from this list?" I wrote the ingredients Mr. Raven told me and taught me to make medicine out of them, I slipped him a list and process.
"A new medicine? Listen up girl whatever i make is the best you can get! You think some recipe from a youngling is better than me!" Mr. Kerran scoffed and started grinding some herbs again.
"Tell me what you need and I'll give you better than whatever is in this paper!" He looked at me with a proud grin.
"I would really appreciate it but please can you just atleast give me the ingredients in the list." It was the only thing aside from the memories I have of them.
"Hey, just give her what she asks, we're not burrowing but buying." Vael hit the table.
"Hey don't take your anger out on my table." Mr. Keraan clicked his tongue and then shrugged his shoulder.
"Give me the list." He extended his hand and I handed him the list.
He sighed and brought a monocle close to his eye, he squinted his other eye along with the behind monocle with his lips curled up in the pout.
"What the—" those squinted eyes widened up and his stood up,
"How is this— I never thought— just who came up with this—
This combination— the method— what is this girl! Where did you get this from? There is no one this world who knows how to mix these together! Just who are you?" His face lit up in awe and shock at the same time.
He paced in the room like a rat... Wait he said he is an otter—
I pondered revealing about the instances of another world, for some reason I opened up to Vael, but he told me to be careful from now on in the morning.
"It's just a recipe from my grandpa—"
"Your granpa is a genius little! Grandpa is genius! If I had met earlier maybe I would've saved my son—" suddenly he stopped and then cleared his throat.
"Well, enough of this and let's start... Not just ingredients, I'll make you medicine too!" He said.
I took a breath of relief and sat down waiting with my eyes wander to the walls.

Violet and Vael waited while two intruders stood close to door, ready to ambush them...
"Violet... Don't move someone's here!"
Vael breathed out as his claws came out...
Who are they?
