Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: A Life-Doubting Shin, A Wonderful Wish

Whitley looked at Nail, who was so nervous he was about to start shaking, and shot an exasperated look at the still-grinning, pot-stirring Whis before waving his hands at him, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"Don't worry, we're not good... bah!"

He almost let the classic villain line slip out. He quickly coughed to correct himself.

"We're not bad guys. Coming to Namek was just a coincidence. I believe your Grand Elder has already told you about our arrival, right?"

Looking at the seven Dragon Balls already prepared on the ground, and recalling Whis's earlier mention of "being sensed," Whitley didn't even need to think. It was definitely the Grand Elder on Planet Namek, with his extraordinary abilities, who had foreseen and arranged all of this.

Hearing Whitley's words, the vigilance on Nail's face lessened slightly.

He hesitated for a moment but ultimately dropped his fighting stance completely.

As he walked up to the two of them and was about to speak, Nail suddenly froze as if he had received some information, remaining rigid for a few seconds.

Then, the expression on his face quickly turned to one of reverence. He bowed deeply to Whitley.

"Greetings, Lord God of Destruction! I am Nail, a warrior who guards the Grand Elder of Planet Namek."

Seeing this, Whitley knew it must have been the Grand Elder explaining the situation to him telepathically.

He nodded, his tone peaceful.

"There's no need for such formalities. I'm just an Apprentice God of Destruction. I ran into some trouble while dealing with a giant, dying star, and I happened to find that my location was very close to your Planet Namek, so I came specifically to borrow your Dragon Balls."

He patted Nail's shoulder and said to him gently:

"This matter... I'm the one causing you trouble, actually."

Nail maintained his respectful posture and quickly said:

"No, to be able to help the Lord God of Destruction is an honor for all Namekians."

Beside them, Whis was sizing up the seven large, glowing orange Dragon Balls on the ground with great interest. Hearing Whitley say he wanted to borrow them, he couldn't help but interrupt.

He wore his signature smile, which looked gentle but was actually that of a troublemaker who loved drama.

"Ara ara~ Whitley, using wishing orbs to exercise the authority of a God of Destruction is a form of cheating, you know. If Lord Zeno and the Grand Minister were to find out, you might receive a certain punishment~"

Whitley shook his head and explained:

"Don't worry, I'm not going to use the Dragon Balls to directly complete the work of a God of Destruction. That would be pathetic. I just need them to help me solve a technical problem."

He turned to Nail and said, "Nail, please summon the dragon."

"Yes, Lord Whitley."

Nail responded respectfully.

He stood up, walked to the Dragon Balls, spread his hands towards them, and began to chant the spell to summon the divine dragon in the peculiar Namekian language.

"Come forth, Porunga! And, grant my wishes!!!"

As the rhythmic chant sounded, a strange phenomenon occurred!

The sky of Namek, which was originally bright with three suns and had never known true night, was suddenly plunged into darkness.

Dark clouds gathered out of thin air and spread rapidly!

The light dimmed sharply, and in just a few breaths, the area within a radius of several kilometers went from day to night.

This very rare and strange sight caused many Namekians in the distance to come out of their houses and look curiously at the sky, which was suddenly shrouded in darkness.

BOOM—!!!

A soul-shaking roar, accompanied by a strongly fluctuating golden pillar of light, shot up from the seven Dragon Balls, piercing the cloudy sky!

Within the light, a massive, muscular, and entirely green, magnificent body quickly took shape—

The divine dragon of Namek, Porunga, coiled in the air. His massive body cast a huge shadow, and his red eyes, like searchlights, swept over the three tiny figures on the ground. He spoke in a deep and solemn voice:

"Now—! State your wishes! No matter what they are, I can grant three of them for you!"

Whitley looked up at Porunga, whose presence was far more majestic than that of Earth's Shenron. Hearing its boast of "no matter what the wish," he couldn't help but let out a light laugh and speak with a hint of teasing.

"Oh? Is that so? Well then, my first wish is: help me obtain the ability of the Supreme Kai's attendant, Kibito, to teleport anywhere in the universe at will."

His words carried a hint of probing. He wanted to see what the limits of the Namekian Dragon Balls were. After all, Earth's Shenron had expressed that it "couldn't do it" against a powerful opponent like the Saiyans.

Nail glanced at Whitley. Although he found the wish a bit strange, he still relayed it to Porunga verbatim in the Namekian language.

Porunga was silent for a moment. Its huge red eyes flashed a few times, as if evaluating and fulfilling the wish.

Just as Whitley thought it might beg him to change his wish, like Earth's Shenron, and was preparing to state his real, well-thought-out wish, Porunga actually spoke.

His voice was still steady:

"Your wish is too profound for me to grant completely. But... you can now use Instant Transmission without limit within the universe. However, you will need to sense the precise ki of your destination or have its coordinate information to move freely."

"Are you serious?! I was just kidding, and you actually granted it?!"

Whitley was genuinely shocked this time, his eyes widening.

He subconsciously raised his hand, placing two fingers on his forehead and concentrating.

In an instant, his senses seemed to break through some invisible barrier, extending infinitely into the depths of the universe.

As long as he knew the specific coordinates, he felt he could travel anywhere in this universe at will! He just didn't know if it would be the same in other universes.

And without coordinates, he could still rely on sensing "ki" to teleport as before.

"This... this is an unexpected delight!"

Whitley lowered his hand in pleasant surprise.

He felt that Earth's Dragon Balls were pathetically weak compared to this Namekian version!

The Namekian Dragon Balls had crushed Earth's Dragon Balls. Namek got the MVP!

"I'll have to ask Bulma for a detailed star chart when I get back..."

He immediately thought of the spaceship he had flown back from Planet Sofu; it should have a fairly complete set of interstellar coordinates stored on it.

After briefly experiencing this new and convenient ability, Whitley temporarily suppressed his excitement and continued speaking to Nail.

"Please ask Porunga for the second wish: teleport the Supreme Kai of Universe 7—Shin—to Planet Namek. If it can't teleport him directly..."

He paused, thinking that forcibly teleporting a god might not be realistic.

"Then have it notify the Supreme Kai that the Apprentice God of Destruction, Whitley, has an important matter to discuss with him and ask him to come to Planet Namek immediately."

Nail hesitated for a moment but still relayed the second wish to Porunga as Whitley had instructed.

Whis watched this scene with a smile, a hint of gratification flashing in his purple eyes.

He was happy to see Whitley proactively seeking out and contacting the Supreme Kai.

After all, the God of Destruction and the Supreme Kai were supposed to be partners who complemented each other and jointly maintained the balance of the universe. But Lord Beerus had almost completely cut off contact with the Sacred World of the Kais because of the incident with the Elder Kai, which was not a good thing for Universe 7.

Now that Whitley was willing to take the initiative to repair this relationship and even seek cooperation, it was definitely a huge plus for improving the overall rating of Universe 7!

"It seems the ranking of Universe 7 finally has a chance to improve~ Ho ho ho," Whis thought with pleasure, his gaze towards Whitley becoming even more satisfied.

After Nail relayed the wish, Porunga fell silent again.

Its huge red eyes were flashing slightly, as if it were communicating with the Supreme Kai across a vast distance.

As Whitley had expected, directly teleporting a god was no easy task. It was more likely that Porunga was acting as a "messenger."

After a long while, Porunga's eyes flashed red quickly, and its grand voice sounded again:

"Your wish has been granted. The message has been delivered."

Almost at the exact moment Porunga's voice fell—

Swish!

Two figures appeared out of thin air on the open ground not far in front of Nail.

The newcomers were the Supreme Kai of Universe 7, Shin, and his attendant, Kibito.

The two were clearly caught off guard by the sudden notice. The moment they appeared on Namek, they immediately stood back-to-back in a defensive stance, warily looking around.

Supreme Kai Shin's gaze quickly swept the scene. The first thing he noticed was the extraordinary Whis, holding his staff, and then Nail and Whitley standing beside him.

He sensed the unfathomable yet sacred fluctuations from Whis. Combined with the strange summons and the current environment, he hesitated for a moment, then cautiously walked up to Whis with Kibito, his tone serious.

"It was you, wasn't it? The one who summoned us to this planet, claiming to be the God of Destruction?"

"..."

Whitley was flabbergasted. He pointed to himself, then looked at the mistaken Whis, his expression becoming quite colorful.

Whis also couldn't help but chuckle, covering his mouth with his hand.

"Ho ho ho~ Lord Supreme Kai, I'm afraid you have the wrong person. I am but a humble attendant who serves the God of Destruction."

He gracefully stepped aside, pointed his staff at the speechless Whitley, and introduced with a grin:

"The Lord God of Destruction you two are looking for is this gentleman here."

The scene instantly fell into a subtle, awkward silence.

Supreme Kai Shin followed the direction Whis was pointing and looked at Whitley, a hint of astonishment and disbelief on his face.

It seemed difficult for him to associate the title "God of Destruction" with the rather young-looking, black-haired man in an ordinary battle suit before him.

A faint, almost imperceptible blush appeared on his already red skin, clearly embarrassed by his mistake.

Seeing Supreme Kai Shin's somewhat blushing but trying-to-be-calm expression, Whitley coughed lightly in resignation and took a step forward, maintaining a polite and smiling demeanor.

"Ahem, a pleasure to meet you, Supreme Kai Shin. I am the Apprentice God of Destruction of Universe 7, Whitley."

Shin sized up Whitley, his eyes narrowing slightly, his vigilance not diminishing in the slightest.

"Universe 7? God of Destruction? Who are you? As the Supreme Kai for so many years, I have never heard of a god in the universe called 'God of Destruction'!"

His tone was full of suspicion.

Suddenly, as if he had thought of something extremely terrifying, Shin's expression changed dramatically. He shot back several steps, creating distance between himself and Whitley.

His voice suddenly rose, filled with vigilance and hostility.

"Wait! You... could you be a subordinate of that evil wizard Babidi?! Was this a trap set by that guy, deliberately luring me here with such an unheard-of title?! Kibito! Prepare for battle!"

Kibito immediately responded, instantly powering up and assuming a fighting stance, glaring at Whitley.

Whitley couldn't help but facepalm as he looked at the two of them, who were acting as if they were facing a great enemy and were convinced he was a bad guy.

He let out a deep sigh, feeling mentally exhausted.

"I say, you two... are you idiots? What is Babidi..."

He was simply speechless.

"Even if Majin Buu were standing in front of me, with a little effort, one slap would make him beg me not to die. Have you really not heard any rumors or history about the God of Destruction? Is there really not a single related record in the Sacred World of the Kais? Did your predecessor, and the one before that, not leave any records?"

Hearing this, Shin sneered, as if he had found Whitley's weakness.

"Hmph! You even know about Majin Buu! And you say you're not an accomplice of Babidi! Trying to deceive us with your flowery words? Kibito! Go!"

"Yes, Lord Supreme Kai!"

Kibito moved at the word, instantly unleashing his full speed and turning into a streak of light as he charged at Whitley!

Shin also raised his hand at the same time, seeming to prepare to cast some kind of Supreme Kai divine art as a supporting attack.

"Sigh... it's like playing a harp to a cow."

Whitley shook his head, feeling utterly frustrated by their refusal to communicate and immediate resort to violence.

He didn't even change his posture, simply saying casually to Whis beside him:

"Whis, seal off this space for a bit. Don't let this Mr. Kibito run away with Instant Transmission."

"With pleasure, Whitley~"

Whis nodded with a smile. He tapped his staff lightly, and an invisible spatial barrier instantly enveloped the surroundings, completely cutting off the connection between the inside and outside space.

After doing this, he even leisurely cheered Whitley on (adding to the chaos):

"Do your best, Whitley~ If you really can't handle it, it's completely understandable to choose to temporarily avoid the brunt of the attack~"

Whitley's nose almost went crooked with anger.

"Me? Whitley? Need to avoid the brunt of these two weaklings?! Whis, you're always so sarcastic!"

He was really fed up with this angel who loved to watch a good show.

Just then, Kibito had already charged in front of him, his powerful fist aimed straight at Whitley's face!

Behind him, Supreme Kai Shin had also condensed a strange ball of energy in his hand.

Whitley didn't even transform into a Super Saiyan. He just casually raised his right hand.

Slap! Slap!

Two crisp, loud slaps sounded almost at the same time.

The charging Kibito was sent flying back even faster than he had come. He spun several times in the air before landing clumsily on the ground, a clear handprint quickly swelling on his face.

Supreme Kai Shin, who was about to release his technique, saw only a blur. Before he could see the movement, he was also soundly slapped across the cheek. He stumbled, almost falling, and the energy he had gathered instantly dissipated.

The two of them were completely stunned by the speed and power that were beyond their comprehension. They sat paralyzed on the ground, holding their faces, their eyes filled with shock and bewilderment.

Whitley shook his hand, as if he had just swatted away two flies.

He walked up to the two of them and looked down, finally unable to resist lecturing them.

"I say, you two! Did you not hear a single word I said just now?! Huh?!"

"I'm trying to reason with you, telling you that there should be records in the Sacred World of the Kais, and you just assume I'm Babidi's subordinate?!"

"I told you that I, this God of Destruction, can beat Majin Buu with one slap, to prove my identity and strength! And you only remembered the words 'Majin Buu,' is that right?! Huh?!"

"Speak! Look in my eyes!"

Whitley was truly angered. A mighty Supreme Kai, how could his intelligence and knowledge be so lacking? Why was he acting like a brainless idiot!

He looked at the stunned and terrified Shin and Kibito on the ground, holding their faces, and felt incredibly tired.

Seeing that the two Supreme Kais were bruised, swollen, and beginning to doubt their existence, Whis had finally had enough of the show.

He coughed lightly and elegantly stepped forward, standing between Whitley and the Supreme Kais to mediate(?):

"Alright, alright, Whitley, calm down, calm down~"

He wore an impeccable smile, his voice gentle.

"Lord Supreme Kai lost his family at a young age and grew up almost alone. An orphan, you see~~ It's understandable that he didn't have the chance to learn or hear about the God of Destruction~ Please be the bigger person and forgive this god who lacks a bit of knowledge."

Hearing this, Whitley looked at Whis with a look of utter amazement.

"As expected of you, Whis!"

He screamed internally.

"You open your mouth, and good heavens, you're an old master of sarcasm!"

In short, after Whitley's "physical persuasion" and Whis's "art of language" mediation, Supreme Kai Shin and his attendant, Kibito, finally, while still holding their stinging cheeks, half-believingly and with lingering fear, temporarily accepted that there was indeed a god in the universe called the God of Destruction, who was on the same level as them but seemed to be a very capable fighter.

But looking at the still-flickering eyes of Supreme Kai Shin, it was clear that he had not yet completely believed Whitley in his heart, and had only chosen to compromise for the time being due to the other's unfathomable strength.

Seeing Shin like this, Whitley knew that he had to show him something real to completely win his trust.

He sighed and brought out his trump card.

"In your Sacred World of the Kais, is there a legendary Z Sword?"

Shin's heart jumped, his expression changing slightly, but he immediately forced himself to calm down and pretended not to know.

"The Z Sword? I don't know what you're talking about."

He was extremely anxious. That sword was the greatest treasure of the Sacred World of the Kais, said to contain supreme power. Its existence could not be known to outsiders!

Whitley chuckled and directly exposed his pretense.

"Stop pretending. That Z Sword is stuck somewhere in your Sacred World of the Kais. And there's a long-standing legend that says whoever can pull out that sword will gain great power, right?"

He looked at the instantly pale faces of Shin and Kibito and continued with some amusement:

"Actually, that legend isn't entirely wrong. That sword can indeed make a person's 'power increase greatly,' but the reason is not the sword itself."

He paused, looked at the two who were staring at him curiously, and said slowly, narrowing his eyes:

"It's because in that sword... is sealed one of your ancestors from many, many years ago, who was sealed in there for... some reason. A Supreme Kai from countless generations ago."

"Wh... what? A Supreme Kai from countless generations ago?!"

"Sealed... an ancestor?!"

Shin and Kibito cried out in shock at the same time, their faces filled with disbelief.

This news was too shocking for them, completely subverting their understanding of the Z Sword!

Whitley was finally satisfied with their reaction. He smiled happily and said to them:

"When I have time later, I'll make a trip to the Sacred World of the Kais and personally pull out that treasured sword. You'll understand then. Now, I've called you here because I really have something important to discuss with you."

And so, Whitley explained in detail the problem he had encountered—how to safely deal with the extremely unstable giant blue giant star that could collapse into a black hole at any time and cause a huge disaster.

He emphasized that he was currently unable to perfectly destroy it in an instant without affecting the surrounding star fields and therefore needed the power of the Supreme Kai to assist him.

But what kind of assistance he needed... regarding the professional cooperation between gods, he was, after all, a novice. He had no choice but to turn his gaze to the most professional person present, Whis, signaling that it was his turn to explain.

After receiving Whitley's look, Whis did not give a clear explanation, but just smiled lightly.

He elegantly raised his finger and pointed to the sky above them, and to Nail, who was waiting nearby, so nervous that sweat was beading on his forehead, but not daring to make a sound.

He said with a light laugh:

"Ara~ Whitley, we can discuss the specifics of how to cooperate in detail later. But for now, shouldn't we make the last wish first? I feel... Porunga can't hold on for much longer, you know?"

Reminded by Whis, Whitley suddenly remembered.

He looked up and saw that although the giant Porunga coiling in the air still maintained its majestic form, its huge green body seemed to be trembling slightly.

The light in its red eyes also seemed to be less stable than before, and you could even see a hint of strained effort and anxiety on its face.

"Uh... sorry, sorry!"

Whitley felt a little embarrassed. He gave Porunga and Nail an apologetic smile. "I was so busy talking, I completely forgot about you. I'm really sorry for keeping you waiting so long."

Porunga in the sky and Nail on the ground both let out a sigh of relief at the same time.

Their movements were extremely synchronized as they both took out a handkerchief from somewhere and wiped the cold sweat from their foreheads.

Whitley looked up at the struggling Porunga and rubbed his chin, quickly thinking about what to wish for with this last wish.

After thinking for a long time, a brilliant idea suddenly came to him, and a cunning smile appeared on his face.

He cleared his throat and said loudly to Porunga:

"Listen up, Porunga! My third wish is: restore my girlfriend, Bulma, to the physical state and appearance of her eighteen-year-old self!"

"Uh...?"

The moment the wish was made, the entire scene fell into a strange silence.

Everyone present, even Whis, had the same thought in their minds:

"Are you... serious?"

Whitley looked at the bewildered Supreme Kai Shin and the "I can finally get off work" looking Porunga.

He had only one thought in his mind right now, and that was to finish his work quickly, and then...

I must go home immediately!!!
