Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Why Would a Wild God of Destruction Appear on Earth?!

In the backyard of the Briefs' estate in West City, the gravity room was constantly emitting a humming sound of being overloaded due to a fierce battle.

Inside the gravity room, Goku had a solemn expression, his entire body enveloped in a white aura. His fists rained down like a storm from all sorts of tricky angles, attacking a completely relaxed-looking Whitley who stood in place.

"Hey!"

"Hah!"

"Atatatatata! Hah!!!"

Goku's every attack was swift, accompanied by constant soft shouts, while his hands never stopped, launching a continuous chain of assaults.

But each time, Whitley would just slightly turn his body, tilt his head, or raise a hand with minimal movement to block, easily neutralizing all of these fast and sharp attacks.

His feet had remained within a small circle drawn on the ground, having not moved a single step since the start of the fight.

Although the battle looked intense, both of them were subconsciously keeping the noise down.

After all, they had to keep this match a secret from Bulma.

Both Goku and Whitley still had lingering fears when they recalled the "accident" that happened last year.

At that time, the two of them, on a whim, had a small beam struggle in the gravity room. The resulting energy leakage triggered a small-scale earthquake that affected all of West City.

Although there were no casualties, the panic among the citizens and the fact that the Briefs family was almost injured caused Bulma to fly into a rare, thunderous rage.

It took Whitley a monumental effort to coax her. Only after countless apologies and promises did Bulma's anger finally subside.

If Whis hadn't coincidentally been summoned over by Whitley's attempt, thus distracting Bulma, who knows how long she would have kept nagging in Whitley's ear.

Since then, Whitley had become extremely cautious whenever he was active on Earth, even subconsciously avoiding Bulma during training.

Therefore, today's match was less of a battle and more of a one-sided guidance session from Whitley to Goku.

Only Goku was attacking with all his might, while Whitley was completely focused on dodging and defending.

Swoosh!

Goku threw a swift straight punch towards Whitley's face, but his wrist was lightly slapped away by the other's hand, which moved second but arrived first.

Whitley then bent his finger and flicked Goku's forehead, not too hard and not too soft.

Thunk!

A solid sound from a solid head!

"Hiss—Ouch!"

Goku immediately crouched down, clutching his instantly reddened forehead, hissing and grimacing in pain.

"Whitley, you're... you're so strong! At my current level, I can't even touch you!"

Whitley retracted his aura and teased with a calm smile, "Are you really trying, Goku? How much strength did I even use? And you can't take the pain already?"

Goku looked up, the flames of unwillingness to admit defeat burning in his pupils.

He shot to his feet and said with a face full of confidence, "Just you watch, Whitley! I wasn't even using my full power just now!"

Although he said that, he knew in his heart that even if he used his full power, the result probably wouldn't change much.

Whitley looked at him with amusement and beckoned with his finger. "Come on, keep it down. Let me see what this 'full power' of yours looks like."

Goku took a deep breath, clenched his fists at his waist, and his muscles suddenly tensed.

"HAAAAAAAA!!!!!!"

Along with a heaven-shattering roar, a violent and surging golden aura erupted from his body!

The air in the gravity room seemed to ignite with crackling sounds, and the powerful energy fluctuations caused the entire room to tremble slightly.

A few seconds later, Goku, having completed his transformation, was surrounded by a golden aura, and his presence was significantly stronger than before.

A confident smile appeared on his lips as he got into a fighting stance. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Whitley! Let's start round two!"

Whitley looked at the menacing Goku, his lips twitching as he said in a resentful tone, "You can explain this to Bulma later! And besides..."

"Is that all? I can do that too."

Before he finished speaking, Whitley's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Hah!"

An even deeper, more condensed golden aura, one that seemed to contain an endless aura of destruction, instantly enveloped him!

His hair also stood on end, turning a brilliant gold. His turquoise pupils held a hint of playfulness as he looked at the dumbfounded Goku.

"You... you can transform into a Super Saiyan too?!"

Goku's mouth dropped open in surprise, his expression changing from confidence to disbelief.

Then he said with dissatisfaction, "You never told me you could transform too! Whitley, you're so cunning!"

Seeing the "unhappy" expression practically written on Goku's face, Whitley smiled and waved his hand. "You never asked. It's just a small thing, not really worth mentioning. But I can tell you this for sure, Super Saiyan 1 isn't the only transformation I can do."

He smiled and got back into his stance, looking at Goku, who was pondering the meaning of his words. "Come on, don't get distracted. Attack me with all you've got! Let me see how much you've improved after becoming a Super Saiyan!"

Hearing this, Goku immediately refocused, his gaze on Whitley becoming incredibly determined.

His figure blurred and disappeared. When he reappeared, he was directly in front of Whitley, throwing a no-frills heavy punch straight at his opponent's chest!

Whitley didn't dodge. His right hand moved second but arrived first, accurately grabbing Goku's wrist, then pulling and tossing him away!

"Ugh!"

Goku felt an irresistible force, and his whole body was thrown uncontrollably.

He slammed heavily into the alloy wall of the gravity room with a heavy thud, leaving a huge dent in the wall.

"Again!" Goku roared, undiscouraged. His figure disappeared again, moving at high speed to appear behind Whitley, a powerful whip kick sweeping towards Whitley's head with a whooshing sound!

It was as if Whitley had eyes in the back of his head. He still didn't turn around, simply raising his left arm back casually.

Smack!

Another crisp blocking sound.

Goku's ankle was then firmly grasped by Whitley's hand. Its powerful impact failed to make Whitley's arm budge an inch.

"Speed is decent, but the power is lacking," Whitley commented, and with a flick of his wrist, he threw him again.

Goku was sent flying once more, but this time he performed several nimble flips in the air and landed steadily.

There was no frustration on his face; instead, he wore an expression of admiration. "Amazing! Whitley, you're really amazing! From the very beginning, your feet haven't moved a single step!"

"Haha, you're not bad either, Goku," Whitley returned the compliment. "To be able to master the power of a Super Saiyan to this extent in such a short time, it seems your battle with Vegeta was quite fruitful..."

Before he could finish, Goku charged forward again!

And this time, his attacks became even fiercer.

His movements were getting faster, and the power of his punches was increasing!

A hint of approval flashed in Whitley's eyes. He finally stopped just blocking and dodging and began to counter!

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The real battle had begun!

Every collision of their fists and feet produced a dull thud and a visible shockwave!

The power clash at the Super Saiyan level was far more intense than before! The powerful aftershocks of the battle began to violently impact every corner of the gravity room!

The indicator lights on the control panel began to flash wildly, and tiny electric sparks jumped across the panel!

The surrounding special alloy walls, capable of withstanding extreme gravity, began to make a cringe-inducing "creak" and started to slightly twist and deform!

Noticing the change in the surroundings, Whitley's expression changed abruptly, and he instantly retracted his aura.

His golden hair and pupils returned to normal as he quickly exited the Super Saiyan state.

"Huh? Are we not fighting anymore?" Goku, who was just getting into the swing of things, stopped his attack in confusion, his aura still burning. "We were just getting started!"

Whitley shook his head, pointed at the surrounding wreckage and flashing sparks, and said helplessly, "We can't fight anymore. Look around you, if we keep going, we'll definitely demolish this gravity room! The commotion will be too big and Bulma will definitely find out. Do you really want to experience another 'errand' like yesterday?"

Whitley's words instantly brought back some not-so-pleasant memories for Goku.

Yesterday, Bulma had sent him to the industrial zone in the north to move massive and precise instrument parts one by one from the production line, install them, and only then could they be sealed in capsules.

And he had to fill out a whole bunch of forms he couldn't understand at all...

That kind of boredom and fatigue was even more tiring than fighting Vegeta for a whole day!

Goku instantly shivered, and the golden aura around him extinguished with a "poof," his body instantly returning to its normal state with black hair and black eyes.

He shook his head repeatedly with lingering fear. "Absolutely not!"

Seeing Goku's reaction, Whitley couldn't help but grin.

He walked over to the most distorted wall and tried to see if he could fix it.

He pressed it with his hand, but the alloy wall made a sound as if it was about to give way.

He shook his head and gave up on the idea of repairing it.

'Better leave this for Bulma to handle.'

Then he looked back at Goku and said bluntly, "You're still too weak."

"Just by yourself, you can't even make me move my feet. Let's wait for that guy Vegeta to get here, and we'll find an empty, deserted place to continue. For example, the ice fields of the North Pole or that desert where you and Vegeta fought would be good."

He paused, looked at Goku, and a meaningful smile appeared on his face. "As for now... I'm planning to teach you something new. Want to learn?"

Goku's eyes lit up instantly. He immediately leaned in and nodded continuously. "Yes, yes! What is it? Is it a way to get stronger? Whitley, you're such a good person!"

Whitley was left speechless by Goku's straightforward "good person card" and couldn't help but pat his head irritably. "Alright, stop flattering me. This technique might be a bit too early for you right now. Whether you can master it or not depends on you."

Goku scratched his head with a pure expression and said in confusion, "I wasn't patting a horse's butt, though. So what is 'flattering'? And what does that have to do with getting stronger?"

Whitley looked at this guy with his peculiar train of thought and decided to give up explaining. "...Never mind, forget I said anything. Stop talking nonsense, focus, and transform into a Super Saiyan again! Then try to maintain that state and do as I say."

Although he didn't understand what Whitley was planning, Goku's desire to become stronger made him obey without hesitation.

"Hah!" The golden aura ignited once more.

"Very good," Whitley's voice became steady and clear. "Feel the ki inside your body. Don't just blindly pursue explosions and power. Try to control it. The goal isn't to make it burn brighter, but to make it as steady as your breathing, to let it flow naturally within you... Yes, just like that. Take your time, you need to get used to this 'normalcy' in a high-energy state..."

Whitley began to meticulously guide Goku on how to control the Super Saiyan energy more finely, reduce unnecessary consumption, and let his body gradually adapt to the transformed state—

This was precisely the path to "Super Saiyan Full Power."

Just as Goku closed his eyes in concentration, trying to adjust his ki according to Whitley's guidance, and the boiling golden aura around him began to stabilize...

The relaxed expression on Whitley's face instantly vanished.

He shot his head up, his sharp gaze seemingly able to penetrate the alloy ceiling of the gravity room and pierce into the endless depths of space!

A sudden feeling of being watched appeared. Although it was extremely faint and fleeting, there was no way it could escape him, who had already reached the realm of Ultra Instinct!

"Who is it?!" Whitley let out a low shout, his powerful perception instantly sweeping across the entire Earth like radar and spreading out into the universe!

Goku, who was sitting cross-legged and trying to control his ki, was startled by this sudden shout, and the aura that had just stabilized around him instantly fell into disarray.

He opened his eyes and saw Whitley looking around with a grave expression, and asked curiously, "What's wrong, Whitley? Are you hungry? I'm getting a little hungry now too..."

Whitley raised a hand to stop Goku's words.

He closed his eyes, and the violent Saiyan aura around him instantly retracted completely.

In its place was a "divine ki" that seemed to have merged with the laws of the universe.

He used the unique perception of a god to carefully trace the source of that spying gaze.

A moment later, Whitley's eyes snapped open, and a smile of realization and amusement appeared on his face. "Oh? This... it's actually that old geezer King Kai? What's that guy doing spying on me in his free time?"

...

Meanwhile, in the Other World.

On a very small planet connected only by a long Snake Way.

King Kai adjusted the small sunglasses on his nose, his chubby face full of worry.

He was currently sitting in his antique car, using his ability to observe the situation in the North Galaxy.

"Sigh!"

He let out a heavy sigh, his round body curling into a ball with worry.

"This Frieza guy is moving too fast! I can't believe that in just one week, another dozen planets have been completely conquered by his army..."

His gaze swept over the fallen planets, seeing scorched earth and countless crying souls.

The cruel methods of the Frieza Force made his heart turn cold—

They often carried out a complete cleansing of the native inhabitants, and if they encountered strong resistance, Frieza would even personally step in and completely destroy the entire planet.

"This is troublesome..." King Kai wiped the sweat from his forehead and muttered to himself worriedly, "The Underworld is about to burst with souls. King Yemma was complaining to me just yesterday that he's so busy he doesn't even have time for a cup of tea. If this continues, the order in the Other World is going to fall into chaos..."

He pondered a solution with a troubled expression. "Ask the Galactic Patrol for help? No, no... those guys are fine against ordinary space pirates, but against a monster like Frieza, they'd just be cannon fodder... Is there really no one who can handle him?"

His gaze involuntarily began to trace back through the history of the North Galaxy, hoping to find a clue.

He saw Frieza's birth, saw King Cold give the Saiyans as a gift to a young Frieza, saw Planet Vegeta turn to cosmic dust in a brilliant explosion, and saw how Vegeta and the others narrowly escaped from Frieza's grasp...

"Hmm? This Saiyan prince..."

King Kai noticed Vegeta. "His power is indeed very strong, but this ki... is too evil, only slightly less so than Frieza's. Are all Saiyans really just madmen who only know how to fight and destroy?"

He felt a wave of disappointment, but the ancient legend of the "Super Saiyan" deep in his heart still gave him a sliver of hope.

"Could it be... that there are no kind-hearted Saiyans?"

With a "let's just try" attitude, he continued to search through the history of the North Galaxy.

During his search, he even saw a Saiyan who desperately resisted Frieza before their home planet was destroyed, only to be easily erased due to the disparity in power.

He even heard his final dying words.

"What he said was... Kakarot? Who is that?"

Just as he was about to give up his search, a very faint but exceptionally pure ki attracted his attention.

This ki was completely different from all the other Saiyans he had sensed before!

His gaze followed the trajectory of this ki, finally landing on a blue planet—Earth.

"Strange..." King Kai was a bit puzzled. "Why is the image so blurry when I look at Earth's past timeline? It's as if some power deliberately interfered with it..."

In a fleeting glimpse, he seemed to see the shadow of a staff flash by.

"Forget it, I'll just look at the present!"

He focused his gaze on the present-day Earth, carefully searching for the source of that pure ki.

The next moment, the North Kai's small eyes widened dramatically, his mouth agape enough to fit a lightbulb!

"Th-that's!!!!"

In his "vision," in a room somewhere on Earth, two immense and suffocating golden energies were clashing violently!

One of the energies was wild and full of savagery, while the other was deeper, more restrained, yet carried a majesty that made one's soul tremble!

And the source of that pure ki was the young man with golden hair and green eyes who was constantly attacking the stronger opponent!

"Super... Super Saiyan?! And two of them at once?!!"

King Kai was so shocked he almost fell out of his car.

"Oh hahaha! Good! Excellent!"

After the shock came ecstasy. He cheered with tears of joy, "So pure, so kind! There's actually a good person among the Saiyans?! This is truly incredible! The North Galaxy is saved!"

He danced with excitement and couldn't help but focus more of his attention, trying to get a closer look.

He didn't even notice that the golden-haired man with the even more unfathomable ki seemed to have... sensed something.

...

Earth, in the gravity room.

A knowing smile appeared on Whitley's lips.

He patted Goku, who was still trying to control his ki, waking him up. "Hey, Goku, stop training for a bit."

"Hmm?" Goku opened his eyes and looked at him in confusion. "What's wrong? I think I was just getting the hang of it..."

"I'm taking you to a good place, let's go have some fun," Whitley grinned like he was preparing a prank. "Hold on to me."

"Huh? Fun? Are we going to eat?" Goku looked bewildered but subconsciously grabbed Whitley's arm.

Whitley said no more. With a thought, Instant Transmission activated!

Swoosh!

The two of them vanished from the gravity room without a trace.

...

The next moment, they appeared in a place with a completely different scenery.

The air here was fresh and pleasant, the grass was green, and in the distance were quaint buildings and giant trees. The environment was peaceful and serene.

"Wow! Where is this?" Goku looked around curiously. He could feel a peculiar power contained in the air here.

"The Sacred World of the Kais," Whitley answered simply, then shouted at the top of his lungs, "Shin! Old Kai! Are you guys here?"

The voice echoed in the empty divine realm.

After a short while, a figure rushed out from the distant temple like a whirlwind, his face filled with relieved excitement. It was the Supreme Kai, Shin, who had been on the verge of going crazy lately.

"Whitley-san! You're finally here!"

Shin was almost in tears.

These days, he had been forced by the Old Kai to cram all sorts of Supreme Kai knowledge, and the boredom was driving him insane. Whitley's arrival was like a gift from heaven!

Kibito followed closely behind, shouting nervously, "Lord Supreme Kai! Slow down! Wait for me!"

However, when Kibito arrived, he found that the Old Kai had already appeared beside Whitley at some point and was chatting with him.

"Oh? You're going to the North Kai's place?" The Old Kai adjusted his small glasses. "No problem, I'll give you the coordinates right now. But little Whitley, what's your business with that fellow? He shouldn't have the guts to provoke you, right?"

"Nothing major," Whitley said with a grin. "He seemed to be spying on me with his ability just now, and I happened to catch him. I'm just going to ask about the situation. Don't worry, I won't give him a hard time."

He had already heard about this North Kai from Beerus and Whis, and knew his personality and hobbies. This trip was more out of curiosity and a bit of mischievous fun.

The Old Kai nodded, then glared at the approaching Shin, his tone full of disappointment. "Look at you! What kind of behavior is this! Is it so hard for you to just focus on your studies? The moment you hear little Whitley's voice, you run faster than a rabbit!"

Shin immediately lowered his head like a child who had done something wrong. "I'm very sorry, Ancestor! I just... thought Whitley-san had something important..."

Whitley found Shin's desperate desire for a "break" amusing.

He waved to Shin and said comfortingly, "Shin, I'm busy this time. I'll come find you to hang out next time I'm free."

After speaking, without giving Shin a chance to persuade him to stay, he grabbed Goku, who was curiously observing the Old Kai and Kibito.

Swoosh!

The two of them disappeared in an instant again.

Watching Whitley leave, the hope on Shin's face instantly shattered.

He sighed and, under the Old Kai's increasingly unfriendly gaze, had no choice but to follow his ancestor back to the temple with his head hung low, continuing his seemingly endless studies.

...

Other World, King Yemma's Palace.

King Yemma, who was swamped with work behind his huge desk, suddenly sensed something and looked up towards the outside of the palace.

He felt two living auras that didn't belong to the souls of the Other World flash by, disappearing at an extremely high speed.

He closed his eyes and carefully sensed for a moment. His huge body trembled slightly, and then he snapped his eyes open and muttered under his breath, "Is that the newly appointed candidate God of Destruction? And the other one is... a Saiyan? Why did they come to the Other World? It seems they're heading for the North Kai..."

He shook his huge head and decided to play it safe. "None of my business, none of my business... I don't know anything, I didn't see anything..."

After muttering, he immediately buried his head back into the mountain of documents and began to approve them with even more vigor, pretending that nothing had happened.

...

On the small planet of King Kai.

The North Kai had long since lost the excitement and thrill he felt upon discovering the Super Saiyans.

The Supreme Kai had already informed him that a God of Destruction was asking about him because of his spying.

He was now like an ant on a hot pan, pacing back and forth on his small planet, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

"I'm doomed! I'm doomed! This is a disaster!"

He muttered to himself as he walked, his voice filled with panic.

"Why would a God of Destruction be on a remote planet like Earth?! And I even spied on him! And he found out! I'm definitely doomed this time! Is my King Kai Planet going to get smaller again?!"

He paced anxiously for several circles, then suddenly stopped, a glint of "wisdom" flashing in his small eyes.

"Right! I'll hide!"

He clapped his hands and said excitedly, "I'll go to the South Kai's place to lay low for a while? No, no, that guy has too big of a mouth... How about the West Kai? His singing is terrible, but at least he's loyal..."

He made up his mind and immediately turned to go back to his small house to pack a few clothes. He also prepared to take his two pets, Bubbles and Gregory, and immediately start a "spontaneous emergency evacuation."

However, just as he took his first step—

Swoosh!

Two figures appeared out of thin air in the open space in front of him, perfectly blocking his path.

King Kai was looking down, preoccupied with his evacuation plans, and wasn't watching where he was going. He bumped headfirst into one of the figures.

"Oof!"

King Kai felt like he had run into a wall. His round body instantly lost its balance, and he fell to the ground with a thud, seeing stars.

Goku looked at the little fat man he had knocked over and quickly reached out to grab his clothes, lifting him up and placing him steadily on the ground. He said with some apology, "I'm sorry, Whitley's Instant Transmission is just too fast. I didn't notice you just now. Are you okay?"

King Kai was completely frozen.

He tremblingly adjusted his knocked-askew sunglasses and glanced at the harmless-looking Goku in front of him.

Then he slowly turned his head to look at the black-haired young man next to him, who was smiling with a playful look in his eyes.

He swallowed hard, feeling his throat go dry.

After his brain worked at high speed, he decided to play dumb and try to muddle through first!

He coughed dryly twice, straightened the clothes that Goku had wrinkled, and tried to put on a dignified and steady posture.

He first nodded to Goku to indicate that he was fine, then faced Whitley and said in as calm a voice as possible, "Ahem... well, this is a rare visit. I never expected a God of Destruction to grace my humble King Kai Planet... I wonder if this Lord God of Destruction is looking for me, the North Kai, for some important matter?"

Whitley looked at the North Kai's appearance, who was clearly scared to death but trying hard to act calm. He deliberately narrowed his eyes, and the smile on his face became even more "joyful."

He mimicked King Kai's manner and also said in a relaxed and casual tone, as if he were really just dropping by for a visit, "It's nothing~"

"I'm just strolling around."

"..." The expression on the North Kai's face instantly froze.
