Kojima felt it instinctively....though he couldn't name it, a primal unease crawled up his spine.
As Arata advanced, the new Mangekyō Sharingan ceased its rotation, revealing faint strands of bright blue lightning running across his body.
Kojima's eyes widened, pupils contracting violently.
That color… that signature glow… it mirrored the Lightning Release Armor he had cultivated himself. His own body seemed to shrink back instinctively.
"No… no, this can't be… I spent so long mastering this secret technique… how could you learn it just by looking?"
Panic flared in Kojima's mind. Then, a thought struck him like a lightning bolt:
Genjutsu… it must be a genjutsu!
The Uchiha clan were masters of illusion; this had to be a trick. What he saw was unreal.
Frenzied, Kojima formed hand signs and chanted, "Break! Break! Dispel this illusion!"
But his attempts were futile. Seeing no other option, he growled:
"If I can't break your genjutsu… then I'll strike directly.
I'll crush this fake Uchiha who dares toy with me!"
Lightning surged more intensely around him. With a burst of speed, he charged.
Arata, however, remained calm.
No jutsu, no genjutsu.....he simply awaited Kojima's approach, his mind already plotting.
Earlier, while his clone battled, Arata had activated the Mangekyō Sharingan's Copy Technique for the first time.
Incredibly, it had successfully duplicated Kojima's Lightning Release Armor, adjusting naturally to Arata's own body and chakra.
He now wielded the armor at the same mastery level as Kojima.
Feeling the surge of blue energy around his body, Arata amplified the output, creating a brighter, more concentrated armor than Kojima's. He moved forward with precision.
The difference was immediately apparent.
With the armor enhancing his nervous system and reaction speed, combined with the Sharingan's dynamic vision, Arata crushed the advantage Kojima had held.
Before Kojima could react, Arata struck, disarming him of his kunai and subduing him with ease.
There was no turning back now. Kojima had seen the Mangekyō Sharingan.....there was no chance of reconciliation, no handover to the village.
Arata's clan was under his control; he didn't need extra manpower.
He pressed his hand to Kojima's neck, considering, but ultimately chose not to kill this talented yet reckless shinobi.
A single strike knocked him unconscious, enough to contain him for now.
After all, Kojima had only mastered the first stage of the Lightning Release
Armor.....there were still two more stages, and he may possess other hidden techniques.
Through Takama-ga-hara, Arata returned to the Uchiha territory, handing the unconscious Kojima to Uchiha Fugaku, who secured him in the clan's secret prison.
He would deal with him once the cooldown of his Divine Eye technique ended.
The mission was accomplished—but Arata's true goal remained.
At a nearby dock, he secured passage on a cargo ship heading toward the Whirlpool Country.
The captain, wary but convinced by Arata's status as a Konoha shinobi, agreed to take him aboard.
During the voyage, Arata learned the truth: no ordinary vessel dared approach the island.
Its waters were riddled with hidden whirlpools and currents, earning it its notorious name.
Once called Whirlpool Island, it had become even more dangerous after the decimation of the Whirlpool clan.
Survivors were few, and settlers rarer still.
Despite its size and resources, the island
remained largely uninhabited and perilous.
Arata gazed toward the horizon, anticipating the trials that awaited him in a place even nature itself seemed to guard with hostility.
After two days at sea, the cargo ship halted at a safe distance from Whirlpool Island.
From the deck, Uchiha Arata could already make out the island's sprawling silhouette.
It was larger than it appeared from afar, the cliffs and forests hinting at both danger and opportunity.
Bidding farewell to the captain, Arata leapt from the ship, skimming across the water with nimble precision, heading straight toward the island.
Meanwhile, back in Konoha, currents of intrigue flowed beneath the village's calm exterior.
Deep within a secluded cave, Danzo Shimura sat motionless on a stone chair carved from the cave itself.
The flickering torchlight danced across his impassive face, revealing only a single, half-closed eye.
In front of him, a subordinate knelt, reporting silently.
"Lord Danzo," the shinobi began, voice low and precise, "we have interrogated those who have teamed with Uchiha Shisui or were rescued by him on past missions.
His Sharingan has evolved....its pattern is unlike the ordinary three-tomoe.
Its observational power and genjutsu amplification far exceed a normal three-tomoe.
We can confirm that Uchiha Shisui's eyes have awakened the Mangekyō Sha
ringan."
