Chapter 98 - Chapter 97 : Yugao’s Blushing Awakening

The chance of hitting Obito was almost zero.....but like opening a mystery box, the thrill was addictive.

Before leaving, Arata gave his final advice.

Kakashi-senpai, I've already guided your Sharingan once so you could feel how to awaken its Mangekyō form. Remember that sensation.

If you continue training in that direction, you'll one day open it through your own strength.

When that time comes, your perception and genjutsu will soar to an entirely new level.

Also, if you paid close attention earlier, you should've sensed something unique....a power that isn't ninjutsu or a secret technique.

That's the essence of a Mangekyō's ability, the unique dōjutsu each Uchiha inherits differently.

Arata paused, waiting until Kakashi nodded that he'd felt it.

Then he continued, "That power will reveal itself when you truly awaken your own Mangekyō. Every person's ability is different.

When you do, listen to what that power tells you....it'll show you its purpose."

He spent a few more moments explaining the Sharingan's hidden dangers and techniques.

As one who carried the Uchiha lineage, Arata's understanding far surpassed Kakashi's.

After all, knocking Kakashi out and copying his "Kamui" had already been a tremendous gain.....this talk was simply a courteous return gift.

After chatting for a while, Arata brought the conversation to a close.

His real targets.....the Uzumaki mother and daughter...were still under Uzuki Yugao's watch.

While Arata trusted Yugao's ability, he didn't want to tempt fate.

If anything went wrong, his entire mission would be wasted.

When Arata and Kakashi returned, the area was peaceful.

The Uzumaki mother and daughter were still asleep, while Yugao stood guard nearby, alert and composed.

Given the Uzumaki clan's vitality, Karin should have woken long ago.

But her body was clearly exhausted, recovering through deep sleep rather than chakra.

Arata approached Yugao. Seeing her weary face softened his expression.

"Yugao," he said gently, "you've worked hard. Rest now. Kakashi and I will take over."

Though newly assigned to the ANBU, Yugao had already proven herself with her blade and skill.

Still, she was no match for someone like Arata.....and after carrying the Uzumaki duo for hours, fatigue was written all over her.

She had forced herself to stay awake while Kakashi was unconscious, maintaining guard the whole time.

Now, seeing Arata's warm smile and Kakashi's approving nod, she finally allowed herself to relax.

With a small bow, she found a spot near Arata and quietly settled down.

Though she had spent more time under Kakashi's command, something about Arata made her feel safe.

His presence had a calm gravity...soothing, protective, and, despite herself, strangely magnetic.

In this world where death lurked in every shadow, people didn't waste time playing coy. Men and women alike were straightforward about their emotions.

And Arata...handsome, refined, powerful, born of a great clan, second in command of the Uchiha, and single....was a walking invitation for trouble. His charm was almost unfair.

Yugao, abandoning restraint, didn't voice her feelings outright, but her eyes, her every glance, spoke for her.

Arata responded with gentle politeness, urging her to rest.

He wasn't blind to her interest....nor was he immune to it.

Yugao was a beautiful woman with an elegant figure and bright, expressive eyes. To be admired by such a woman? Hardly something to complain about.

Kakashi, on the other hand, could only sigh inwardly.

It wasn't jealousy...just the pain of a long-time bachelor watching romance bloom right in front of him.

Even future Kakashi would still be single, and the sudden flood of "dog food" was a little too much to digest.

Time slipped quietly by. After such a long night, none of them felt like talking anymore.

Both Arata and Kakashi were elite shinobi, and with Arata's immense spiritual strength...half a sensory ninja in his own right..keeping watch was no burden.

A few hours passed, and dawn slowly broke.

Arata stopped tending the campfire and turned his gaze toward the horizon, where the sun crept over the edge of the world.

He loved this moment.....the birth of light.

The sun was still the same here, unchanged even between worlds.

The moon might have shifted, but the sunrise reminded him of the world he'd left behind.

It was in that serene glow that Yugao stirred awake. Half-dazed, she blinked at the man before her.

Arata stood bathed in gold, the morning sun tracing his profile in light.

The sharp lines of his face, the calm confidence in his posture....he looked divine, like a celestial being descended to earth.

His eyes caught the light and reflected it back, warm and dazzling. Yugao's heart skipped.

She hadn't expected, right upon waking, to be struck so hard....not by an attack, but by Uchiha Arata's devastating good looks.

Flustered, she pressed her palms to her burning cheeks and whispered to herself, "Oh no… am I doomed? Someone, please save me…"
