Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

Cade's fingers flew over sensors. "Nothing. Zero emissions. Zero artificial structures. Just geothermal chaos and…" She paused, frowning. "Massive gravitational distortions. Like spacetime itself is… bruised here." She turned, amber eyes blazing. "Did your cheat code lie, Nakamura?"

Panic clawed up Kaiyo's throat. Failure. Trapped. Hunters closing in. Then, a soft ping echoed in his skull. Unprompted, his System interface flickered. A new window bloomed: NAVIGATION SUBSYSTEM ACTIVATED. REAL-TIME GPS TRACKING ONLINE. A crisp, holographic grid superimposed itself over his vision. The volcanic wasteland resolved into intricate detail. And there, pulsing softly like a buried heartbeat five kilometers northwest of their position, nestled deep within the root-system of the largest obsidian mountain: a single, blinking golden waypoint labeled HTC ACCESS: SECTOR ALPHA.

Kaiyo barked a laugh, half-hysterical relief. "There! Northwest! Five klicks! Buried under Mount Doom over there!" He pointed wildly. "GPS just kicked in! My System's got eyes!"

Cade didn't question. She punched in the new coordinates. "Hold on!" The shuttle banked sharply, engines whining as it dove towards the monstrous, glassy peak. "GPS? Seriously? What else does that toy of yours do, Nakamura? Order takeout?"

"Hey, it found your ass, didn't it?" Kaiyo shot back, gripping his seat as they skimmed razor-sharp ridges. The waypoint grew brighter, guiding them towards a seemingly solid cliff face. "Brace for impact! Or… entry? System says it's there!"

The shuttle screamed towards the obsidian wall. At the last possible second, the mountain rippled. Like water disturbed by a stone. The shuttle plunged through the solid rock as if it were smoke, emerging into shocking, sterile silence. They hung suspended in a vast, white void. Featureless. Endless. Utterly silent. The only sound was the frantic thudding of Kaiyo's heart.

Cade stared, breathless. "Stars above…" she whispered, the awe stripping the edge from her voice for the first time. "It's real."

A synthesized voice echoed from everywhere and nowhere: "HYPERBOLIC TIME CHAMBER: SECTOR ALPHA. TEMPORAL DILATION RATIO SET AT 365:1. OXYGEN LEVELS OPTIMAL. GRAVITY SET AT STANDARD VEGETA." A pause. Then, chillingly: "WELCOME, SAILORS. COMMENCE TRAINING."

Kaiyo grinned, the terror momentarily eclipsed by savage anticipation. He turned to Cade, eyes blazing. "One year, Cade. Starting now. First lesson?" He cracked his knuckles. "Survive me." Outside the viewport, the white void seemed to pulse, hungry.

The chamber door sealed with a sound like a guillotine blade slamming home. Instantly, Planet Vegeta's comfortable gravity vanished. Kaiyo's stomach lurched violently upward as weightlessness seized him—then slammed him face-first into the featureless white floor as gravity quintupled. Blood flooded his sinuses. Before he could gasp, the pressure vanished again. He floated upward, limbs flailing like a drunk spider caught in zero-G.

"Sonofa—!" Kaiyo choked as hurricane-force winds materialized from nowhere, scouring the chamber with stinging grit that tasted of burnt plastic. The wind shifted direction violently, slamming him sideways into Cade. Her armored shoulder cracked against his ribs. She grunted, bracing like a stone pillar against the maelstrom.

"Stop flailing!" Cade barked over the roar, grabbing his wrist. Her fingers dug into his pressure points like iron clamps. "Anchor your ki! Feel the fluctuations!" She planted her boots wide, her own power flaring a controlled 4,200—a lighthouse in the chaos. Kaiyo tried to mimic her stance. The air thickened abruptly, syrup-heavy, choking his lungs. He wheezed, vision spotting. Then it thinned to vacuum-thin, leaving him gasping like a fish on dry land. His ears popped painfully.

"Focus, dumbfuck!" Cade snarled, dragging him upright as hail the size of marbles materialized overhead and hammered down. "Your System cheat—use it! Analyze the pattern!" Ice pellets ricocheted off her pauldrons. Kaiyo blinked blood from his eyes—he'd bitten his tongue—and forced his mind inward. ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS ACTIVE. Data flooded his senses: gravity spikes every 11.3 seconds, wind shear vectors cycling counter-clockwise, air density oscillating between 300% and 10% standard. Patterns emerged: brutal, but predictable.

He grinned, bloody and savage. "Got it!" He wrenched his wrist free and planted his feet wide. As gravity spiked again, he leaned into it, ki flaring through his legs. He didn't buckle. The wind howled, shifting northeast. He pivoted, bracing diagonally. "See? Easy!" he shouted, triumphant.

Cade's eyes narrowed. "Too easy." She raised a hand. The chamber walls flickered. New data screamed into Kaiyo's mind: RANDOMIZED VARIABLES ENGAGED. PATTERN ERASED. The hail turned to scalding rain. Gravity inverted. Kaiyo screamed as he was flung ceiling-ward at mach speed.

He slammed into the featureless white ceiling—hard. Bones groaned. Blood sprayed from his nose. The chamber spat him back down. He hit the floor rolling, gasping, vision swimming. Cade stood untouched, arms crossed, armored tail twitching impatiently. "Predictable patterns get you killed," she stated flatly. "Your cheat-code brain needs chaos."

Fine. Kaiyo spat blood. He closed his eyes, diving deep into his System interface. Forget passive analysis. He needed active control. He visualized menus: TRAINING MODULE GENERATOR. He slammed mental commands into it. Define parameters: Survival. Power Growth. Combat Efficiency. Partner Synergy. He fed it scraps of data—Cade's fighting style, Zarbon's terrifying 45,000 power level, the chamber's insane environmental shifts. Generate missions. Track progress. Reward milestones.

The System whirred. TRAINING MODULE INITIALIZED. OBJECTIVE-BASED PROGRESSION ENGAGED. New windows bloomed:

DAILY GOAL: Maintain Ki Shield under randomized environmental assault for 1 hour. Reward: +5% Ki Efficiency.

WEEKLY CHALLENGE: Land 10 consecutive hits on Cade using Spatial Compression variants. Reward: Unlock Micro-Singularity (Ki Control Lvl 5).

LONG-TERM MILESTONE: Achieve Combined Power Level (Self + Cade) of 30,000. Reward: God Ki Seed (Dormant).

Kaiyo grinned through bloody teeth. "Alright, System. Let's play." He shoved himself upright, Ki flaring weakly around him—a shimmering, unstable bubble. The chamber obliged. Gravity spiked sideways. Acidic fog billowed from nowhere. Kaiyo staggered but held his shield, eyes locked on the mission timer ticking down in his vision: 00:59:47.

Cade watched, skeptical. "More glowing boxes in your head?"

"Better," Kaiyo panted, straining against the corrosive fog eating at his shield. "It gives goals. Numbers. Rewards." He nodded towards her. "Your turn. Accept the partner sync. Lets it track your gains too. Make this hell efficient."

Cade hesitated, amber eyes flicking over the phantom interface only Kaiyo saw. Efficiency was her language. Survival her creed. She gave a sharp, single nod. "Sync it. But if it glitches and fries my brain, Nakamura, I'll rip yours out through your nose."

The System pinged. PARTNER SYNC CONFIRMED: CADE. COMBINED POWER LEVEL TRACKING ACTIVE: 4,243 + 4,200 = 8,443/30,000. A new objective appeared for her: EVADE KAIYO'S GRAVITY SPHERE FOR 5 MINUTES. REWARD: +100 BASE POWER.

Cade's lips twitched—almost a smile. "Hmph. About time your toy was useful." She dropped into a fighting stance as Kaiyo's hands glowed with unstable gravitational force. The chamber walls pulsed, ready to amplify the chaos. The year stretched before them—brutal, quantified, and suddenly, terrifyingly possible.
