Like a shroud being pulled away, an exceptional relief coursed through the hall when there was no interruption, no witness, no sudden confession.
Bruce's shoulders sagged with relief. Phina retracted her gaze and turned to the officiating minister. A soft smile curling her lips.
At this point I was sure she was over the moon…that finally she had won this round.
"Did you see that?" Linda smirked beside me, her voice low with amusement.
"See what?" I asked, my eyes still fixed on the stage.
"Your presence," she replied casually. "It's the main reason they're so tense."
I shrugged, unfazed. I wasn't stupid enough to disrupt their marriage. Doing that would only prove I wasn't over Bruce and I refused to give him that satisfaction.
"You shall take your vows now," the minister announced, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
