Third POV
Norton Group – Boardroom
The Norton Group boardroom was unusually loud.
Low murmurs filled the air as executives gathered around the long polished mahogany table, some seated, others pacing, files tucked beneath their arms.
The floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooked the city, but no one seemed interested in the view. Something was brewing, something was wrong—and everyone could feel it.
At the head of the table, Bruce George sat comfortably, fingers interlaced, posture relaxed to the point of arrogance.
A faint smile curved his lips as he listened to the ongoing discussion, his eyes occasionally flicking toward the empty seat reserved for the acting chair.
James Norton was still out of town.
That alone had shifted the balance of power.
And the undeniable fact that he was Norton's son-in-law was a covering and backup that couldn't be denied.
