"Adrian, that's not what he meant."
Adrian raised a brow, the corner of his lips lifting faintly. "Really? What did he mean?"
"It's just a formality. Besides, we were thinking of making it up to you since you missed quite a lot."
"I see, I had a few tasks to handle, and do you think…"
"You are the supreme alpha after all. The life and death of anyone should matter." Another smirked.
Adrian's gaze narrowed slightly, a dangerous glint flickering within his eyes. "You are all Alphas as well," he replied calmly. "It also matters."
With his point made, Adrian's gaze swept across their faces. Under the soft golden lights of the hallway, their expressions looked uglier than ever; tight, calculating, and poorly hidden behind forced civility.
He scoffed lightly.
"Prince Osborne," Adrian said, tilting his head slightly. "Do you think he was right?"
A faint smirk appeared on his lips as his gaze locked onto the Lycan prince.
Osborne sighed.
The question was tricky.
