Without hesitation, she pushed the attendance register toward him. Maurice picked up the pen and wrote both his name and Adrian's.
Afterward, he casually scanned the list. His eyes narrowed slightly as he counted the names already present.
Most of the council members had arrived. As he prepared to leave, the receptionist discreetly glanced around to ensure no one was paying attention to them.
The next moment, she leaned forward slightly, reached into her drawer, and retrieved a thick file.
After another cautious glance around the reception hall, she quietly pushed it toward him.
"For the Supreme," she said in a low voice.
Maurice raised an eyebrow. A knowing smile immediately appeared on his face. "Understood."
Taking the file, he slipped it beneath his arm and immediately left the reception hall.
A few minutes later, he returned to the vehicle and climbed into the passenger seat.
Adrian looked up from the documents he had been reviewing.
