Blanche's POV
I stepped out of the hospital ward and headed toward the main entrance when I noticed the unexpected rain outside.
The downpour hadn't been heavy at first, but it appeared from nowhere.
In just minutes, the pavement was already drenched.
I searched frantically through every corner of the hospital for Carry. When I couldn't find any trace of her, and the rain started coming down harder outside, I didn't think twice—I decided to hunt for her in the storm.
The second I stepped outside and felt the rain, I barely noticed it. I just rushed straight into the downpour, frantic to find Carry.
Rain streamed down my face, mixing with my tears until they became indistinguishable.
With bloodshot eyes and a voice raw from worry, I shouted Carry's name over and over, my calls dissolving into the rain—even though no one responded, I couldn't stop.
I was so consumed with panic that calling the police never occurred to me; all I could focus on was finding Carry.
