Chapter 211: Starfall Pavilion
Starfall Pavilion is located in the southern region of the Central Plains.
In terms of the number of disciples, Starfall Pavilion has the smallest number among the so-called Four Pillars Pavilions. However, while the numbers are few, the quality far exceeds that of the other three pavilions. Almost every disciple within the pavilion possesses considerable talent for cultivation.
Because of this, many people in the southern region of the Central Plains know that if you encounter a disciple from Starfall Pavilion, you should never underestimate them based on their age or other factors. This pavilion never accepts mediocre people.
Additionally, Starfall Pavilion is the most mysterious of the Four Pillars Pavilions. The other three pavilions are eager to let everyone know of their existence, boasting about the grandeur of their headquarters, making it obvious to anyone that these sects are powerful. But Starfall Pavilion is different. Unless you are someone extremely familiar with it, it would be nearly impossible to even find the location of the pavilion.
"We're almost there... the way to enter Starfall Pavilion is a bit special. Unless you're familiar with it, even a Dou Zun-level powerhouse would find it impossible to enter," the Wind Sovereign explained to Yao Yan and the others as he looked at the familiar mountains in the distance.
"It's been many years..." Pill Master sighed as he gazed at everything in front of him.
"It's indeed been many years. The Starfall Pavilion that you and I founded together, and yet you became the idle manager, barely even coming to the pavilion. If it weren't for me giving you the title of Pavilion Master, I bet the disciples wouldn't even know you exist!" The Wind Sovereign complained with some grievance as he looked at Pill Master.
Back when they founded the sect, it was Pill Master's idea, but after its establishment, Pill Master rarely visited. All the work was left to the Wind Sovereign, while Pill Master enjoyed his time elsewhere. Looking back now, it was still a bit frustrating.
"Ahem..." Pill Master coughed lightly and explained, "You know I'm not good at managing things."
The Wind Sovereign merely complained without dwelling on it. He then waved his hand and used spatial power to wrap the ship, taking control from the Fire Sovereign. After about fifteen minutes of traveling through the mountains, they arrived at a forest sea.
"What an interesting formation," the Fire Sovereign instantly noticed something special about the place, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Hehe, this is Starfall Pavilion's Starfall Grand Formation. This formation wasn't man-made; it was naturally formed, making it quite unique," the Wind Sovereign explained to the Fire Sovereign. He then took out a jade tablet from his pocket, activated it, and a strange starry light spread from it. As the light expanded, the space in front of them turned into a spatial portal.
"Pass through this portal, and you'll enter the true Starfall Pavilion," the Wind Sovereign explained and guided the ship through the portal.
Upon entering, the scene before their eyes seemed to shift, as if the world was changing. What was once an endless forest suddenly revealed a towering mountain. On top of the mountain, some buildings were vaguely visible, and the sounds of sparring and duels could faintly be heard.
"This place is technically a space constructed from meteorite star power. Of course, this space cannot compare to the huge spaces built by a Dou Sheng, and its size is only that of a city. But for a sect, it's more than enough. Since it was naturally formed, even a Dou Zun flying overhead would have a hard time detecting it," the Wind Sovereign chuckled.
The Fire Sovereign began examining it with great interest, as he had always been fascinated by formations of this kind.
Zi Yan, on the other hand, was indifferent. With her bloodline talent, this spatial barrier was no different than something clearly visible to her eyes.
As the ship slowly passed through, many powerful individuals from Starfall Pavilion also cast their gazes toward them. Upon recognizing the Wind Sovereign, they respectfully saluted from afar, watching with curiosity. This was the first time the Pavilion Master had brought guests, so everyone was eager to know the identities of the visitors.
However, this curiosity didn't last long before it was completely answered.
The Wind Sovereign even purposely gathered all the disciples to announce Pill Master's return. After all, the position of Pavilion Master had always belonged to Pill Master, though he rarely showed himself, making him unfamiliar to the disciples.
Of course, he was not truly unknown. The famous Pill Master of the Central Plains, even the youngest disciples knew about him, and many of the older elders were filled with joy. They had more experience and understood well what kind of reputation Pill Master had in the Central Plains. If one were to compare his fame and status, even the three leaders of the Dan Tower would be slightly inferior. With such a figure returning, how could Starfall Pavilion not rise?
After these matters were dealt with, the sky had darkened, and the stars filled the entire sky, creating a dreamlike, dazzling scene.
Pill Master looked at the Wind Sovereign with a bitter smile and said, "Why rush?"
"I'm afraid you'll run off again. If you had stayed in Starfall Pavilion back then, those things wouldn't have happened... but it's fine, it's all in the past now. There's no need to talk about it anymore. I'll send people to investigate Mu Gu's whereabouts. After you recover your body, we can go find him!" The Wind Sovereign clenched his fist, his eyes flashing with a cold glint. He was never someone with a good temper.
If he had an enemy, he would make sure to avenge it. Forgiving others was something only a fool would do.
"Mm."
Pill Master didn't refuse. After all, he hadn't let go of those matters from the past. Mu Gu, who was once his senior brother, had caused an irreconcilable grudge between them. Those old grievances were not something that could be solved with just a few words.
"I think that kid Yao Yan is quite good. Your eye for talent seems to be improving," the Wind Sovereign suddenly changed the topic and said to Pill Master. "Why didn't you take him as your disciple? Don't tell me you didn't teach him alchemy."
"That kid already has a master, and his master's identity seems quite extraordinary. I suspect his master is probably a nine-star alchemist… but he hasn't explained it, and I didn't ask much. He seems very eager, his pursuit of strength is enough to astonish me," Pill Master shook his head slowly and said.
"It seems that kid has a lot of secrets," the Wind Sovereign said, surprised.
"Mm, since he doesn't want to talk, I won't pry either... When he saved me earlier, it was just a fair trade, but after spending time with him, I've started to treat him as a junior," Pill Master said with a slight smile.
He was always someone who valued relationships, but after being hurt by Han Feng, his heart had become guarded. Now that the knot in his heart was untied, life had to move on, and naturally, he hoped the younger generation would grow up.
"Starfall Pavilion needs to develop. Otherwise, with the trouble that kid causes, you might not be able to handle it," the Wind Sovereign said with a smile.
"Once I recover my body, I'll recruit some strong individuals."
Pill Master's expression became serious as he spoke.
In the past, he had never intended to develop a force. He had always acted independently, and that was why he became a target of the Hun Palace, and Mu Gu had acted against him. After learning from those mistakes, he wouldn't make the same mistake again.
The Wind Sovereign was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected his lazy old friend to have the drive to 'work hard' now. He then straightened his face and said, "It seems that trouble is coming for that kid."
"He disassembled a Dou Zun-level Heavenly Demon Phoenix's corpse and refined its bone wings into a flying combat technique," Pill Master said indifferently.
"..." The Wind Sovereign's expression instantly froze. This trouble was truly no small matter. If it were him, he wouldn't be able to handle it either. Only Pill Master, after recovering his strength, might be able to mediate.
...
Elsewhere, Yao Yan had already started cultivating in the Star Tower, which was one of the most special places in Starfall Pavilion. It could gather endless starlight, a type of celestial energy that was incredibly pure. With his possession of heavenly flame, Yao Yan could absorb and refine it without obstruction.
His body was bathed in starlight, as if draped in a layer of silver light.
The azure flames around his body swirled, turning the thick, almost tangible starlight into pure Dou Qi that flowed into his limbs and bones.
After some time, Yao Yan slowly opened his eyes and silently thought, "This starlight power is truly magical. It actually has the power to nourish the body. No wonder it can cultivate something like the eternal flame, the Three Thousand Yan Flames."
Thinking about the Three Thousand Yan Flames, Yao Yan couldn't help but feel a rush of heat in his heart. With his spirit race's Dou Emperor bloodline, once he possesses the Three Thousand Yan Flames, his body will truly transform into an immortal body. Even if he lost an arm, it would likely heal in a short time. With the addition of the Heavenly Flame, rebirth from a drop of blood might no longer be a fantasy.
"Heavenly flames are truly amazing," Yao Yan thought to himself. Almost every type of heavenly flame contained a unique rule of heaven and earth, comparable to divine artifacts from other worlds.
"Once I break through to Dou Zong, I'll head to Dan Tower!"
Yao Yan had made up his mind. For the Three Thousand Yan Flames, even if his identity was exposed, he didn't mind.
Heavenly flame, he was determined to obtain it!
...
The next day, as Yao Yan walked out of the Black Tower, he saw Zi Yan and a similarly-aged girl making eye contact. He immediately stopped in his tracks.
