Chapter 209: Perhaps the Beastmen All Like the Desert and Gobi?

The Black Mountain Hills, an endless stretch of mountains, perfectly separates the northern and southern grasslands from the desert. The yellowish mountain ranges and the pure blue sky create a striking visual contrast. The strong winds pick up the yellow sand from the desert and wrap the Black Mountain Hills in a faint yellow veil, making it difficult to see clearly.

On the edge of the Tagore Desert, a werewolf boy named A Mo, covered from head to toe in a black cloak with only his eyes and his sand-covered wolf ears occasionally twitching visible, climbed over a sand dune and saw a small market on the other side. Excitedly, he turned to the large, burly man in a black cloak who was similarly covered and said, "Brother Lin! The merchant caravan is right ahead! We've arrived!"

The man in the black cloak, whose eyes were the only visible part, stood on the sand dune and looked down at the small market below, consisting of just over ten stone houses and a few hundred people. His crimson-gold eyes gazed up at the swirling yellow sand in the sky, silently thinking that the living conditions of these beastmen were incredibly harsh.

But perhaps beastmen liked living in such desolate desert environments?

A Mo: ???

"Uncle Kui! Uncle Kui!" A Mo led Jiang Lin into a stone house, the exterior of which was decorated with a wolf's head. Inside, more than ten Buli werewolves, seeking shelter from the wind and sand, sat around. At the head of them was a werewolf whose height was nearly two meters without including his ears, his body full of muscle, and his chest and face marked with battle scars. Among the average one-meter-seven tall Buli werewolves, he was particularly eye-catching.

As soon as A Mo and Jiang Lin entered, the attention of the other werewolves in the room turned toward them. More than ten pairs of wolf-like eyes, tinged with a hint of viciousness, stared coldly at the two. But as soon as they saw A Mo's exposed ears, their gazes softened considerably. The remaining werewolves, however, began to scrutinize Jiang Lin, who was hidden in a black cloak with only his crimson-gold eyes visible.

After entering, A Mo quickly closed the door and began to clean out the yellow sand from his ears. "We're really unlucky. We ran into a yellow sandstorm outside, but luckily Brother Lin showed us the way, or we might have gotten lost."

The stone room's ceiling was inlaid with some transparent crystals. Though the yellow sand partially blocked the sunlight, it still allowed a faint light to penetrate, keeping the room from being completely dark. In this dim light, it might have been uncomfortable for humans, but for the Buli werewolves, it felt almost like daylight.

"A Mo, who is this human?" The leader of the Buli werewolves, Kui Qing, with his giant wolf-like eyes, looked at Jiang Lin, who emanated a human aura despite being cloaked. His eyes flickered, and then he spoke in a deep, gravelly voice, almost like a beast growling quietly.

"Uncle Kui! This is the doctor I brought back!" A Mo immediately explained with excitement, "He's the best doctor I found in Gamma Sacred City!"

"Doctor?" The other werewolves' faces showed some confusion, but Kui Qing's eyes flickered with realization. He gave Jiang Lin a slightly strange look, then asked A Mo, "Are you sure?"

"Of course! Brother Lin can even regenerate severed limbs! Brother Lin, let me introduce you. This is Uncle Kui Qing, the leader of the Buli tribe's merchant caravan guards. He's a great guy!" A Mo enthusiastically introduced Jiang Lin, not knowing where he had heard this story.

Jiang Lin felt somewhat helpless. If he wasn't mistaken, A Mo was likely referring to the creation of the Qing Lin Dragon Arm for Mo Lan, right? If that counted as regenerating a severed limb, then Jiang Lin couldn't exactly argue.

"Hello, you can call me Lin," Jiang Lin slightly nodded in respect to Kui Qing, who was seated at the head of the group.

In Jiang Lin's spiritual perception, most of the werewolves were at the Dou Shi level, with two or three at the Da Dou Shi level. But Kui Qing was a solid one-star Dou Ling, and judging by his solid aura, he was likely at the later stages of one-star Dou Ling. Additionally, his physique was incredibly powerful. Jiang Lin suspected that any average human Dou Ling would probably be used as a punching bag by him.

It had to be said, though the beastmen lived in harsh conditions, their bloodline strength gave them a much higher baseline than humans. After all, the ancestors of many human families might have been ordinary people, but the ancestors of beastmen were undoubtedly high-level magical beasts. The Buli werewolves, who came from the Beast Domain, must have had a very glorious past.

"Human? Hello, Lin. Can you really regenerate severed limbs?" Hearing that Jiang Lin could regenerate severed limbs, the eyes of all the Buli werewolves in the room became eager, especially Kui Qing, who, as a high-ranking member of the tribe, immediately understood A Mo's intentions.

"Hmm? That's just a rumor from outside," Jiang Lin said, shaking his head slightly as he noticed the eager wolf-like eyes staring at him. The eyes visibly dimmed with disappointment. However, Jiang Lin pointed to a werewolf in the room, his arm wrapped in cloth: "If the materials are appropriate, I can reattach his arm."

Regenerating severed limbs? Jiang Lin couldn't do that, but when it came to prosthetics, he had a bit of talent.

"Hmm?" Hearing this, Kui Qing and the others looked at their injured comrade. Kui Qing's expression tightened as he looked at Jiang Lin, his voice becoming a little more urgent: "Is that true?"

Before Jiang Lin could answer, A Mo spoke up in dissatisfaction: "Uncle Kui! I already told you he's the best doctor from Gamma Sacred City!"

"Sorry!" Kui Qing realized his attitude had been a bit inappropriate, so he quickly apologized to Jiang Lin. "Sorry, for the Buli werewolves, regenerating severed limbs is more of a legend and belief. Please don't mind us."

"If Master can reattach his arm, I will offer an appropriate reward," Kui Qing said sincerely. The werewolf who had lost his arm was attacked by a magical beast in the desert not long ago. If his arm could be reattached, that would be the best.

"Let's see. If the materials are available, I'll give it a try," Jiang Lin gave a vague response, not immediately agreeing.

If it weren't for A Mo's request for confidentiality, Jiang Lin would have flown straight to the Black Mountain Hills.

But that would be too conspicuous, and with Jiang Lin's reputation, if he went to the Buli tribe, people would surely deduce his purpose and uncover the story of how the Buli tribe sold their ancestors to revive their ancestral glory, ultimately discovering the truth behind A Mo's sister.

Though the Gamma Empire might not care whether the Buli tribe gains another Dou Huang, the other forces near the Black Mountain Hills certainly would.
