I was still sulking over my ruined breakfast when Keiji finally decided to speak, like a judge calling order in court.
He cleared his throat.
Once.
Twice.
The kind of sound that made the entire guild fall silent like we were about to be sentenced.
And then, with his voice colder than his damn ice spells, he said,
"Kael. Why are you in my guild again?"
My fork froze midair. Oh no. Daddy guild leader voice.
Kael, sitting across from me like he owned the place, didn't even flinch. Just smiled. That lazy, too-handsome-for-his-own-good kind of smile.
"I came for breakfast," he said, like it was the most reasonable answer in the world.
"Breakfast?" Keiji repeated, tone flat as a frozen lake. "In my guild. Every day."
"Mm," Kael hummed, leaned back, and drank from his cup like a man made of audacity. "The food's better here."
I nearly choked on my drink. "You're unbelievable.."
