When we regrouped the next day, my eyes immediately locked onto Kalispell.
They sparkled. Shamelessly.
I didn't even greet him. I just appeared right in front of him, hands clasped together, leaning forward slightly, staring at his face like I was waiting for a legendary drop to activate.
"…Ahmm. Eunji?" Kalispell frowned. "What's with you?"
"Nothing," I said sweetly.
My eyes said absolutely not nothing.
He shifted. "Seriously. You're making me anxious."
Good. That meant it was working.
"Oh, nothing really," I continued, smiling wider. "I just heard something very intriguing. And I want the full story."
Before he could escape, I grabbed his wrist and dragged him straight toward the dining hall in Black Vultures. No resistance allowed. This was an emergency.
"So you've heard," he said as he sat down, resigned. "Why ask me again?"
"Because," I replied, slamming my hands on the table, "I heard a report. Not the cheesy version. I want the beginning. With feelings. And pauses."
