Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Dressed in JK to See You

The slap echoed sharply.

The entire restaurant fell silent, stunned. Tie Tuo Wang stood frozen, his mind blank, unable to process what just happened. Lu Chengwen, heart pounding, hid his trembling hands behind his back. I scared myself half to death with that one.

Eyes blazing, he barked, "Tell me, why did you come to the Northern Kingdom?"

Tie Tuo Wang's thoughts spiraled. I'm done for. This must be the Young Master! I messed up big time, flirting with his woman on my first day. This stunning, lively girl—why wouldn't the Young Master want her? How could I be so stupid? Will he stew me alive?

Lu Chengwen's mind screamed, Come on, back down already! You're scaring me to death!

With Tie Tuo Wang silent, Lu Chengwen couldn't let the moment stall. Gritting his teeth, he delivered another resounding slap. "Speak! What are you here for?"

Tie Tuo Wang dropped to one knee. "To assist the Young Master in uniting—"

Slap! Lu Chengwen cut him off with another blow. "You're really saying it?"

Tie Tuo Wang was on the verge of tears. "Young Master, please, calm your anger—"

Lu Chengwen grabbed his throat, hissing through clenched teeth, "Call me President Lu, you idiot!"

"Y-Yes, President Lu, I was wrong…" Tie Tuo Wang stammered.

As he knelt, his four men followed suit, chorusing, "Please, President Lu, have mercy!"

Lu Chengwen, feigning rage, shouted, "You lot, pack your bags and get out of here! You'll ruin my plans!"

Tie Tuo Wang pleaded, "President Lu, we know we messed up! Please, give us another chance!"

His men echoed, "Please, President Lu, show mercy and give us another chance!"

Lu Chengwen pretended to barely contain his fury. "In Xuecheng, you'd better act civilized, be polite, learn humbly, and listen to others, or I'll tear your bones apart and feed them to dogs! Got it?"

"Yes! We understand!" they chorused.

He raised his hand as if to slap again but stopped, his hand aching, wary of overplaying his act. "Be smarter next time!" he growled.

Xu Xuejiao, thinking he might hit again, grabbed his arm. "Chengwen-ge, stop hitting them. I just wanted an apology. It's not worth making them kneel!"

Lu Chengwen thought, Finally, you're talking sense. If you'd calmed things down earlier, I wouldn't have had to dance on the edge of death.

Pointing at Xu Xuejiao, he ordered, "Apologize."

Tie Tuo Wang and his men hurriedly apologized, making Xu Xuejiao feel embarrassed. "Alright, alright, enough. Just maintain order in public places. Queue properly—it's basic decency!"

"Yes, yes, we understand," they mumbled.

"And be polite to women. A real man has class!"

"Yes, yes, we were wrong."

"And you, big guy, Iron… whatever Wang, don't bully girls. It'll come back to bite you."

Lu Chengwen added, "How about I make them kowtow a hundred times?"

"No, no!" Xu Xuejiao waved her hands, horrified by the sight of five burly men kneeling in a row. "Enough, Chengwen-ge, calm down. Let's go. Ignore them. If it makes you happy, I'll wear that JK uniform for you later."

"You mean it?"

"Absolutely, let's go!" She tugged him toward the exit.

Zhao Gang started the car, shaking his head in awe. "President Lu, I'm in awe! You're unreal! I tested those guys—two of them match my skill, maybe more. Yet these tough nuts knelt before you, begging forgiveness. You're a true prodigy, a god among men, just here for a stroll…"

While Zhao Gang rambled, Lu Chengwen was trembling in the back seat. Xu Xuejiao noticed. "Chengwen-ge, what's wrong? You're sweating and shaking!"

Lu Chengwen thought, You have no idea—I nearly died back there. Tie Tuo Wang, one of the Northern Kingdom's four heavenly kings, a brutal, ruthless beast. I was acting, playing the prince in pauper's clothes. If that guy had half a brain, I'd be done for.

Xu Xuejiao, concerned, checked his pulse. He pulled his hand back wearily. "I'm fine."

"Hug?" she offered.

He slumped, and she wrapped her arms around him, blushing but teasing, "There, there, Lu-baby. No need to be scared. Xuejiao-jiejie's here."

Lu Chengwen sighed. This got out of hand. When Tie Tuo Wang realizes I played him—and slapped him—he'll come for me.

Outside the restaurant, Tie Tuo Wang watched the luxury car speed off, frowning. He slapped himself hard. This chapter isn't over yet. Please turn to the next page for more exciting content!

"Damn it, I screwed up on day one, offending the Young Master! I'm blind!" he cursed.

"Iron King, is that really the Young Master?" one of his men asked.

"No doubt! His charm, his carefree swagger, his thunderous rage, his domineering flair—who else could it be? No one else has that aura!"

"We helped him show off, though. That's a win, right?"

Tie Tuo Wang nodded. "Those slaps built a bond between me and the Young Master. It's a good start, don't you think?"

Lu Chengwen was fuming. Xu Xuejiao, that troublemaker, had pushed him to the brink. Without her, he wouldn't have stirred up this mess. But without her, he wouldn't have known Tie Tuo Wang was already in the Northern Kingdom. One step at a time, I guess.

Unbeknownst to him, Leng Qingqiu was dead-set on joining his shantytown project, while Long Aotian kept pushing Leng Tianhao toward an amusement park venture. Lu Chengwen had outmaneuvered them, transferring ten billion directly to Leng Qingqiu's personal account. She refused to use it for the group, keeping it as her own funds. Meanwhile, Qianfeng Group had scraped together forty-nine billion—part cash, part loans—and signed with Li Meiqin at lightning speed, funneling the money into Dasheng Group's accounts.

This left Leng Tianhao livid but helpless. Long Aotian, too, was frustrated. His past was a trail of effortless victories, crushing gods and demons alike. Yet in Xuecheng, he was tripping over his own feet. Everything should've fallen into place—smooth, natural, unstoppable. But reality was a harsh slap. He couldn't even handle the Leng family.

Desperate, Long Aotian sent a distress signal to his organization, the "Great" Organization—likely named by an author fond of Naruto. The Northern Kingdom branch dispatched Tie Tuo Wang, one of the four heavenly kings, with five billion in cash to assist.

It all hinged on that plot of land. Secure it, make a fortune, and prove his business acumen to Leng Tianhao and Leng Qingqiu. Then, taking over Qianfeng Group would be a breeze. Money wasn't an issue for Long Aotian. Once he controlled the four great families, their wealth would be his. The women would line up, begging him to use their funds, fearing they'd lose his favor if he didn't.

Smirking, Long Aotian envisioned his glorious future. Everything was ready—except for Tie Tuo Wang's startup capital.

In Lu Chengwen's private villa, newly purchased and renovated at breakneck speed, the decor blended lavish opulence with understated elegance—his preferred mix of literary flair and nouveau-riche extravagance. Money made miracles happen.

Sprawled on his bed, he stared at the ceiling, drained. I'm at the end of my road. Offending Tie Tuo Wang? One of his lackeys could snap me like a twig. Zhao Gang was spooked today, wasn't he? Thinks he's tough, but he's never taken a hit like that. Those four goons were terrifying.

He bolted upright. "I'll just leave this city. Who's stopping me?"

Jumping off the bed, he froze as the door swung open. Xu Xuejiao sauntered in, dressed in a JK uniform.

Lu Chengwen blinked. "What are you doing?"

She grinned, spinning to show off her figure. "Wearing the uniform for you. Don't you love seeing girls in them, you big perv?"

It had to be said—Xu Xuejiao in that uniform wasn't just stunning. She was downright irresistible.
