Callum carried his lover's body to their bedroom and gently laid her lithe body on the bed. He looked pityingly at his girlfriend, who was still asleep despite nearly falling off the sofa. If she had woken up, he wouldn't hesitate to scold her for overworking herself.
His right hand gently stroked her soft cheek. "Why did you go to all this trouble if you don't love me? You should just sleep if you're so tired."
Edith suddenly opened her eyes slowly, staring at this handsome man's face so close to hers that her heart was pounding. She immediately looked away and quickly pulled back the blanket.
"Oh my God! How could I fall asleep?"
Callum crossed his arms. "This is what you did for working so hard that you fell asleep! Anyway, I won't let you work past midnight now!"
"But the ball is in two days! I have to finish it by tomorrow so you can try it first."
"You still have to rest because you are human!"
