Wang Xian raised his hand, recalling his unconscious partner to its ball. His expression shifted to one of intense focus as he unclipped a second Poké Ball.
"Let's go!! Eelektross!!!"
A beam of red light shot into the arena.
In the center of the field appeared a sleek, gray, eel-like Pokémon with two long, blue-gray arms. It hovered several inches off the ground, looking strangely detached from the laws of gravity.

Hearing the command, Gyarados coiled its massive body like a spring. It launched itself into the sky with Bounce, soaring high enough to let the Thunderbolt pass harmlessly through the space it had occupied a millisecond ago.
High above the arena, a veil of water began to coat Gyarados. It climbed higher and higher...
Once it reached a height of nearly fifty meters, it performed a mid-air somersault, turning its massive head to face the arena below—specifically, the spot where Eelektross was hovering.
In the next instant, Gyarados exploded downward. Its descent was so fast it triggered a series of sonic booms that rattled the stadium windows.

Eelektross raised both hands, condensing a massive orb of violent, unstable electricity between its palms. It fired the beam straight up at the descending dragon.

With a heavy drone, the Zap Cannon shot upward. Gyarados, looking like a sapphire-blue meteor, didn't flinch. It smashed directly into the core of the electric blast.

The two forces collided. In an instant, the Zap Cannon was shattered, its energy scattering across the sky in a magnificent, jagged web of lightning.
Gyarados didn't slow down for a heartbeat. In fact, because the water veil surrounding its body was conductive, the shattered electricity from the Zap Cannon was drawn into the rushing water. Arcs of lightning now danced across its serpentine form, making the Hydro Comet look even more majestic and terrifying.
THUD!!!! —
With a deafening explosion of earth and water, the comet struck home.
"Eelektross is unable to battle!! Gyarados wins the round!!"
A total shutout. Eelektross had barely time to register its entry before it was deleted by Gyarados.
The audience was in a state of shock.
Wang Xian was no amateur. He was a Top 400 veteran of the last Huaxia League Conference. His Pokémon weren't low-level fodder; they were high-tier Elite-rank veterans.
Yet, his Level 85 Eelektross had been one-shot like it was a level 5 Rattata.

Mega Meganium was a sight to behold. The single large flower at its neck had split and multiplied into four distinct, layered blooms. The flowers grew in size from top to bottom, but their colors faded—the largest at the bottom was a pristine white, followed by pink, light red, and finally a deep crimson at the top.
The antennae on its head had elongated and fused at the tips, forming a delicate arc over its forehead. Its overall size had also increased significantly.
Usually, Mega Evolution either makes a Pokémon look sleek and cool or weird and bulky. Mega Meganium hit a strange, majestic middle ground. While the four-layered flower looked a bit eccentric at first glance, the overall effect was one of regal, ancient power.
The extra flowers weren't just for show. They acted as super-charged solar collectors, drastically increasing the efficiency of its light absorption.
As Mega Meganium stood its ground, a bizarrely sweet fragrance filled the arena. It was refreshing, carrying a soothing property that seemed to drain the aggression from everything around it.

It had transformed from a bulky support Pokémon into a heavy-duty special artillery platform.
