Just then, Nami's diagnostic report came in.
Jin scanned it.
"Well?" Nami asked, her voice filled with a nervous energy.
Jin smiled and patted her on the head. "Not bad. You've mastered Tempest Kick, and you've got a good handle on Shave and Finger Pistol. And your marksmanship isn't bad either. You're at the level of a Marine Headquarters Captain. You've been training hard, haven't you?"
Nami smiled sheepishly. "You put your trust in me. I couldn't let you down."
Jin grinned. A Headquarters Captain might not sound like much, but in the East Blue, it was a big deal. And Nami had only started her training three years ago. Her rapid progress was a testament to her diligence.
Ai's assessment: "Proficient in kicking and grappling. High mental and willpower stats. Suited for a Zoan-type fruit."
A Zoan?
"Alright," Jin said. "My ship is about to accept you. I'm going to grant you the power of a Devil Fruit. Don't resist."
"Okay."
Jin opened the interface again.
In the third-rank "Scout" position, he entered Nami's name.
Nami felt herself being enveloped by a strange power, suspended in a dark void. She could see nothing, feel nothing. All was silent.
"Woooooooooom..."
In the darkness, a soul-shaking sound echoed, and she trembled.
Then, golden flames appeared, one after another, illuminating the space and revealing a massive ship.
Once Nami had been granted her permissions, Jin looked through his collection of Devil Fruits and chose one for her.
The Dog-Dog Fruit, Mythical Zoan, Model: Werewolf.
And with the Memo-Memo Fruit, he passed on the memories of the fruit's past users, their knowledge of its abilities.
The Werewolf fruit granted immense strength, stamina, speed, and a healing factor. It could also manipulate static electricity, like the Minks, or merge with the shadows for stealth and assassination. And it had the ability to control the wind. Elemental attacks were a common trait of Mythical Zoans.
With this fruit, and with Jin's guidance, Nami's potential skyrocketed.
[Position: Scout]
[Name: Nami]
[Rank: Third]
[Height: 178cm]
[Ability: Mythical Zoan, Werewolf Fruit]
[Lineage Factor: None]
[Haki: Observation Haki]
[Composite Doriki: 4750-9210]
[Evaluation: Independent, brave, strong, with an indomitable will.]
In her base form, her Doriki of over 4000 was already on par with the once-in-four-hundred-years genius of CP9, Rob Lucci, the level of an average Marine Vice Admiral.
And with her fruit, her combat power was multiplied.
Jin then teleported Nami back to her office.
He had told Foss to pull his forces back to Cocoyasi Village because he had already guessed his opponent's plan.
They were using Ron to try and pin the "colluding with the Revolutionary Army" label on the East Blue Trading Company, to give Cipher Pol and the Marines a "legitimate" reason to make arrests.
Plausible deniability.
But with Ron dead, there was no proof. The East Blue Trading Company could claim that it was all his own doing.
But his opponent wouldn't give up that easily. They would have a backup plan.
And what was that plan?
Simple.
Cipher Pol and the Marines had the backing of the World Government. The mastermind behind this whole affair wouldn't have to get their hands dirty. A quiet word in the right ear, and without a single act of violence, they could just block the shipping lanes, inspect every ship, or impound them in port for any number of reasons.
The daily losses would be immense.
The company's clients, the other kingdoms, would be forced to reconsider their partnerships.
Then, they would threaten or bribe a few of the company's senior members or ship captains to testify that Foss had dealings with the Revolutionary Army.
They didn't need to prove it. They just needed an excuse. Once they had him in custody, they could charge him with whatever they wanted.
And at that point, it wouldn't just be the East Blue Trading Company that would be affected. The entire Conomi Islands could be dragged into it.
Why target the East Blue Trading Company?
Because it was a large, sprawling organization.
And merchants... they prioritize profit. How much loyalty could they really have to the Winter Blossom Kingdom, to Jin?
Under the right pressure, the right incentives... someone was bound to crack.
So, instead of giving his opponent the chance to pick them off one by one, he would pull them all back, form a fist.
Yes, there would be huge losses. But would the other kingdoms that did business with the company not suffer as well?
The more Cipher Pol and the Marines threw their weight around, the more they oppressed the people, the stronger the people's will to resist would become.
With his orders given, Jin decided not to interfere any further in the affairs of the East Blue. He wanted to see how his people would handle it.
It was a test, a trial by fire.
His attention returned to the demonic carrier.
He looked at its new stats.

The demonic carrier had finally become a ten-thousand-ton behemoth.
But that was just its physical weight.
Including the sub-space, it was much, much larger.
And after swallowing the six islands, its internal space had expanded dramatically.
The requirements for the next evolution had also increased exponentially.
"A hundred Devil Fruits," Jin breathed. "I'll have to harvest the entire world..."
