Chapter 141 - Chapter 142: Forces of Rainbow Mountain

The Extraterritorial Battlefield served as humanity's crucible, a vast testing ground where the various races of the universe honed their military might. Its primary purpose wasn't to produce mere soldiers, it existed to forge Immortals, the true pillars of any civilization. Only Immortals possessed the power and longevity to serve as enduring guardians, the symbols of racial strength that could weather the endless cosmic conflicts.

For Han Jue's clone, the Ice Peak Lord had established a straightforward objective: achieve the title of Invincible King. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Star Flow Sea clone lacked the explosive million-fold amplification that Han Jue's main body commanded through his Six Eyes bloodline, but it compensated with its own formidable foundation. The 3,000x genetic level, combined with the physical enhancements from cultivating the Frost Secret Manual, allowed it to ultimately unleash 130,000 times the power of an ordinary World Master, a level comparable to peak Kings.

Such strength was far from negligible on the outer battlefields. Enhanced by numerous treasures, soul-class armaments, combat secret techniques, and innate talents, even among peak Kings he would stand as a formidable figure. The requirement of becoming an Invincible King presented a considerable challenge, yes, but it remained within the realm of possibility.

The Sixth Battlefield. Outer area of the core region. A continental fragment known as Rainbow Mountain.

Rainbow Mountain stretched across space like a cosmic jewel, its maximum diameter spanning 1 trillion kilometers and its minimum extent reaching 800 billion kilometers. The fragment had become a favored residence for numerous Immortal gods, and elite World Master teams, led by Immortal commanders, frequently chose this location for their training expeditions.

Currently, three forces dominated the region's reputation, and instilled its most widespread fear.

The first was a band of seven ordinary Immortal-level demons who roamed Rainbow Mountain like apex predators. When they encountered opponents weaker than themselves, they killed without hesitation. Against those whose strength gave them pause, they settled for collecting "passage fees" instead.

The second power was a Zerg World Master who commanded an army of 100,000 ordinary World Master-level insects. Under their combined assault, even Marquis-level Immortals would fall. Almost no one on Rainbow Mountain dared provoke this World Master, not even the arrogant demon Immortal team gave them trouble.

The third force was an elite human team of four World Masters. Each member individually possessed power rivaling ordinary Immortals. Together, they could hunt Marquis-level Immortals. Three Marquises had already fallen to their coordinated attacks: one high-level Marquis and two low-level Marquises. They hadn't bothered with barely-qualified Marquises, those weren't worth their time.

The unwritten rule was simple: avoid these three forces at all costs.

Inside a cave within Rainbow Mountain's layered terrain, the four humans sat dividing their latest spoils.

"This demon Marquis we killed was disappointingly poor," Lei Shen remarked with a shake of his head. "Not even as wealthy as that Machine Race Immortal from before."

"The demon race operates on pure survival of the fittest," Hong explained with a slight smile. "Without membership in the demon royal families, accessing abundant resources proves difficult. The Machine Race, on the other hand, benefits from advanced technology and sophisticated weaponry, making them naturally wealthier."

Han Xi nodded thoughtfully. "The harvest this time wasn't terrible. Everyone received over 500,000 Chaos Units."

"Not bad at all," Lei Shen agreed, then sighed. "We still rely heavily on Brother Hong and Han Huan, though. You two probably have the strength to kill a Marquis Immortal solo by now, right?"

"Still somewhat lacking," Han Huan said, shaking his head modestly.

He could now match a low-level Marquis, perhaps even surpass one, but matching and killing represented entirely different thresholds of power. Slaying an Immortal required overwhelming superiority, enough to prevent escape through their various life-saving techniques.

Hong, meanwhile, had become the strongest among the four. Armed with a soul-type treasure gifted by the Lord of Darkness and following the Illusionary Warrior cultivation path, he could definitely kill a low-level Marquis in single combat. He even stood a reasonable chance against high-level Marquis Immortals.

Of course, none of the four were truly weak. Hong possessed both treasure and supreme skill, making him the undisputed leader. The other three wielded powerful treasures of their own. Even Lei Shen, currently the weakest, could be considered barely Marquis-level, he merely lacked the refined combat techniques to officially enter that realm.

"What do you think?" Lei Shen's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Should we try hunting some Kings? Apart from that Zerg World Master, Rainbow Mountain basically lacks opponents capable of threatening us."

"I have no objection," Han Huan replied with a slight nod.

His agreement implied Han Xi would support the decision as well.

Lei Shen turned expectantly toward Hong.

Seeing the situation, Hong shook his head with a helpless smile. "Alright, let's leave here and explore deeper into the core region."

Rainbow Mountain was merely a fragment of the Lotus Continent, which formed the core of the Sixth Battlefield. The Lotus Continent housed numerous Marquis and King-level Immortals, ordinary Immortals there would likely serve as little more than cannon fodder. The continent's innermost regions contained countless peak and limit-level Kings. Pinnacle Arcanas had appeared there in the past, drawing ambitious hunters hoping to test their luck and strength.

Led by Hong, the four departed their cave sanctuary. Hong retrieved a triangular spaceship from his spatial storage, a vessel of pure black that seemed forged from polished obsidian. This F9-class spacecraft represented one of Hong's major investments, purchased after extensive training and countless battles in the Extraterritorial Battlefield.

As they boarded the spacecraft and prepared to depart Rainbow Mountain for the Lotus Continent's depths, Lei Shen suddenly tensed.

"Brother Hong, wait!"

The other three instantly focused their attention, following his gaze.

Rainbow Mountain rose like a colossal peak, its surface honeycombed with countless caves of varying sizes. Stretching over a hundred million kilometers, the mountain divided into dozens of distinctly colored regions that created a rainbow-like appearance, hence its name. These different zones possessed no special properties beyond their striking hues.

But now, the entire mountain trembled violently, as if teetering on the brink of collapse.

Countless powerful figures emerged from the caves, dividing into four major factions. Members of each faction gathered together, some discussing the sudden changes to Rainbow Mountain, others analyzing the formidable presences appearing nearby.

"Rainbow Mountain hasn't exhibited unusual behavior for over a thousand epochs," one Immortal observed. "The last disturbance produced a special naturally-formed fruit that granted flesh-and-blood lifeforms ten times their genetic potential. It attracted numerous King-level competitors. I wonder what's causing this commotion."

"This disturbance far exceeds the previous one in intensity," another replied. "It's probably not just a single special fruit."

"Look, that Zerg World Master has emerged! Keep your distance!"

"Don't panic. See that black spaceship? Those are the powerful humans. The Zerg World Master won't dare make trouble here."

"Those demon Immortals have appeared too."

"Think they'll start fighting right here?"

A telepathic message suddenly reached the four humans, cutting through the ambient chaos. "'Gun Demon,' 'Strange Sword,' 'Jade Zither,' 'Thunder', do you four want to join forces with me to eliminate those demon Immortals?"

The voice belonged to the Zerg World Master, smooth and seductive despite its alien origin.

Lei Shen sneered aloud. "Heh, why should we trust you?"

The Zerg World Master shifted tactics, focusing her telepathic attention on Hong. "Gun Demon, what do you think?"

Hong's response was immediate and unambiguous. He shattered the Zerg's soul transmission with a burst of will, making his stance absolutely clear.

Join forces with the Zerg? Impossible.
