Chapter 8 - EIGHT TEAMWORK

MYSTIC LYTHORIA

The ringing of the academy bell signaled the start of combat training.

Maya, standing at the front of the class, addressed the students with authority.

"Settle down,Today, we'll be having a combat exercise,You will form five teams, each consisting of four members. The objective is simple: capture any other team's flag and deliver it to your leader. The first team to secure a flag wins, If there's a tie, a one-on-one showdown will determine the victor.

This training will take place in the Shadowglade Forest," Maya explained.

A smirk played on Logan Bladestorm's lips as he crossed his arms, his piercing green eyes gleaming with anticipation. The commander's son stood tall at 6'0", his athletic build a testament to years of rigorous training.

A scar above his right eyebrow hinted at past battles.

"Perfect," Logan mused aloud. "Now we'll see how strong the new girl really is."

Kokoro Akatsuki's gaze lingered on Logan, a small, knowing smile forming on her lips. "Isn't he captivating?" she whispered to herself, her bright brown eyes sparkling with intrigue. Her short black hair framed her heart-shaped face, and her impeccable fashion sense, inherited from her mother, the kingdom's most renowned designermade her stand out effortlessly.

A sharp voice interrupted her thoughts. Mason Dorman, prince of Daria, cleared his throat. "Hey! Can we focus?" His well-groomed dark brown hair and regal posture commanded respect.

Beside him, Koji Yoshida, ever the mischief-maker, grinned. "I think she's staring at us." His youthful energy made him seem perpetually ready for an adventure.

Sitting elegantly with an air of mystery was Sakura Ryujin, her striking long, curly red hair cascading over her shoulders. "Why not team up with her, Kokoro?" she suggested slyly. "You could make her miserable." Her delicate fingers played with a jeweled ring, a silent indicator of her immense wealth.

As the students continued their chatter, Maya sighed. "Enough talk." She raised her hands. "Instant Teleportation!"

DARIA : SHADOWGLAD FOREST

The group's chatter died down as they took in their surroundings, tress, wind picking up, as a thick black smoke poured out from the forest, each student eager to prove themselves.

Logan's eyes locked onto Kokoro, a flicker of interest sparking within them. "You think you can handle yourself in combat, Akatsuki?"

Kokoro's smile grew wider, "I think I can handle more than just combat, Bladestorm."

Mason intervened, his voice firm, "Enough. We're here to work together, not against each other."

As the tension dissipated, the group began to disperse, seeking out potential teammates. The combat training was about to begin, and only the strongest would emerge victorious.

It's one of the smallest forests of Daria, located at the centre of the Kingdom.

The class erupted into an uproar as students murmured and sought out partners to form strong teams.

Cassandra enthusiastically approached Hesper. "I'm going to crush everyone! Hey, Hesper, want to team up with me?"

Before Hesper could respond, Kokoro Akatsuki confidently interrupted, "Sorry to cut in, we haven't formally met,I'm Kokoro Akatsuki."

Her expression was unreadable, Kokoro asked, "Would you prefer joining the winning team or the losing team?"

Cassandra burst in, "I'll make you eat those words, Kokoro!"

Kokoro raised an eyebrow. "What makes you so sure?"

Hesper shrugged nonchalantly. "I'd join the losing team, I have no interest in you."

Kokoro's expression darkened, her fury palpable. "You'll pay for turning me down," she hissed, spinning on her heel to rejoin her group.

The air vibrated with tension as Kokoro's companions exchanged uneasy glances.

Maya's voice rang out across the clearing. "Now that the teams have been decided, here are the groups:

Group One:

Logan Bladestorm

Kokoro Akatsuki

Koji Yoshida

Sakura Ryujin

Group Two:

"Team five will be having only three members" the teacher announced.

"Let the combat training begin!" Maya declared, they all ran inside the forest, the match began only the strongest and the smartest would win this, the main reason for this class was to test their team work.

MYSTIC LYTHORIA

Junior class 4

"Eno is an energy that flows in all things, it's an energy that is said to be harnessed from Dio having more simpler uses which involves the four elemental manipulations, fire ,air, water and earth"

Fire Manipulation:*

- Eno grants the user the ability to command and control the element of fire. This includes the generation of intense flames, the manipulation of heat, and the ability to shape and direct fire as a potent force.

*Air Manipulation:*

- Eno imbues the user with the power to manipulate the air and atmospheric forces. This encompasses the ability to create gusts of wind, generate powerful currents, and even control the very breath of life.

*Water Manipulation:*

- Eno enables the manipulation and control of water in its various forms. This includes the ability to summon and direct bodies of water, alter the flow of rivers, and command the forces of precipitation and humidity.

*Earth Manipulation:*

- Eno empowers the user to exert influence over the element of earth and terrestrial materials. This encompasses the ability to shape and mold earth, control geological forces, and even summon seismic active " as the class commence, Aristo last time we had a little test , your birth elements was air , am I correct ?" She asked , with that he answered "yes miss yashida"

Now could you make use of wind a little bit , with that he created a huge gust of wind.

Wow that's amazing, the class was astonished, by Aristo performance, Phobos was fast asleep as always.

With that every student came out to test which ability they own, creating flames, winds, water, earth from nothing, others who have trouble controlling theirs were being assisted by fellow students, the class progressed

DARIA: SHADOWGLAD FOREST

GROUP TWO

" Hi I'm ori kaito, I might not look it, but I'm actually a demi-human" ori said as she was too shy to look into hesper's eyes

" What clan are you from!? ," Hesper said wanting to know, "your name, it sounds familiar, but it can't be, it's just not possible" she said trying to think

"Akira Takahashi " as she introduced her self to hesper

"Nice to meet you" what are your specialty, hesper asked

" I'm a flame user by birth , so far I can make use of the four elements, but I'm kinda having trouble with water" Cassandra handed the flag to ori kaito.

" You're the team leader why give me the flag?" She asked.

" It's a strategy giving you the flag, you won't be targeted, they would least suspect you, that way we can keep it safe , knowing Logan , he would come for our group first" she answered

GROUP ONE

"Just as you said, the flag was given to Ori Kaito; they intend to trick us," Kokoro said.

As an earth element user by birth, she had full mastery over earth, allowing her to communicate with plants telepathically, sense their emotions, accelerate their growth, and possess knowledge of water manipulation.

Kokoro widened her focus, using the trees to survey the forest without expending much energy. "What are your plans, Logan?" she asked.

Logan replied, "Separate them, I'll go after Cassandra, while you take the new girl, Koji Yoshida the flag"

"Sakura turned to Kokoro. 'Which way are they?'

Kokoro pointed towards the eastern edge of the forest. 'They're that way.'"

"This will take a lot out of me, but it's worth it," Sakura said, raising her hands [bubbling ]A massive amount of water flowed from sakura, flooding the area and separating the teams.

GROUP TWO

"Something is heading our way,"

" What do you think it might be Cassandra "

" I feel it too, it sounds and feel like a huge body if water" Hesper replied ori kaito

The ground began vibrating, and a huge quantity of water came flooding in, separating them.

GROUP ONE

"Where are they now?" Logan asked

"They've been separated, and each is heading in opposite directions, just as Logan assigned." As they all departed

Logan instructed Sakura, "Once you're fully recovered, follow Kokoro. I don't think she can handle the new girl alone."

HESPER

"I'm always alone; I need to stay alert." A massive tree swung its trunk at Hesper, but she swiftly cut it off with a thread [SLICE ] dodged out of the way.

Spines erupted from the ground, Hesper was launched into the air, her body soaring high.

she extended her hands, conjuring flames that swept through the forest, consuming every tree in her path. The inferno spread, clearing the area of all plant life—but as the smoke cleared, a single flower emerged from the scorched earth. Slowly, it grew, its petals unfolding as vines shot out, lashing out and ensnaring Hesper in their grip.

Hesper quickly raised a boulder in front of her, using it as a shield to block the attacking vines. But the vines broke through with surprising strength, sending her crashing into the air. She slammed against a tree, landing upright, her back pressed against the bark.

The person controlling this must be nearby, she thought, her eyes darting around the area, searching for any sign of the enemy.

With a determined glare, she unleashed a massive flame toward the relentless vines. But to her shock, the fiery blast was swallowed by the plant's vines without so much as a flicker of hesitation.

Impossible, Hesper thought, narrowing her eyes. It has fire resistance—but how strong is this plant?

The venous trap lashed out with ten thick vines, each one aimed at Hesper with deadly precision. She reacted swiftly, compressing her flame into a concentrated ball of heat and sent it hurtling back toward the plant.

As the flame struck, something unexpected happened—it transformed into crackling lightning. The high-voltage surge coursed through the plant, causing it to convulse and expand, its vines writhing in agony before exploding in a violent burst.

Toxic, glue-like substance splattered everywhere, raining down like acid.

Hesper raised a defensive barrier of water and air, encasing herself in a protective shield that kept the corrosive glue at bay. The toxic substance hit the ground, and wherever it landed, the surface melted away as though it had never existed.

"I know you're there, Kokoro," Hesper said calmly. "You won't take the flag by hiding." Kokoro emerged, smiling.

"The flag given to Ori Kaito – I believe it's been retrieved from her. Teaming up with them is laughable."

Every spot covered in glue sprouted another flower. Hesper identified it as chamomile. "You intend to make me fall asleep?" she asked.

Kokoro replied, "Wow, I'm surprised you know your plants so well. This won't be easy. The moment I faced you, I knew you'd lose."

Hesper asked, "If you're so confident, why do you need backup?" Kokoro sneered, "What do you mean by backup? I need no help defeating you – you're nothing but a worthless Demi-human." Sleep as she alter that word

The chamomile released toxic sleeping gas, the gas covered the whole place, but Hesper covered her face with air, regulating her breathing, she could separate the oxygen from the toxic sleeping gas . "Shall we begin?" she said, rushing toward Kokoro.

" Impossible, how can this be, she's standing right in the Middle of the gas" kokoro was suppressed

"Unlike you who could make use of only your birth element, I can make use of the four elements properly and learned them to their advanced levels, and there is no way I'm losing to the likes of you" hesper shouted walking out of the chamomile sleeping gas

Kokoro created more venous traps, but Hesper's thread cut through them, the thread was heading straight to kokoro.

Sakura's blizzard slammed into the battlefield, forcing Hesper to retreat. Kokoro glared at her. "What's the point of interfering? I had it handled."

Sakura's voice cut through the wind. "You can't. She's created a Quintessence thread by mixing all four elements."

Kokoro's fists clenched, eyes flashing with disbelief. "I didn't think she'd go that far. It takes total focus—and a ridiculous amount of eno energy—to form a single thread. Judging by that one, she'd need a thousand to make it that thick."

Hesper smirked. "Scared to lose a friend? You humans are weak. Fight for yourself, Kokoro."

Kokoro's eyes burned with fury. "I'll wipe that smug look off your face!"

ORI KAITO

"Ori wandered through the dense forest, frustration mounting. "Where am I? Got separated... great, now I'm all alone!" she called out. Her voice echoed through the trees. "Is anybody there?!"

As she moved through the thick foliage, trying to find her way, a barrage of iron spears suddenly shot out from the shadows, piercing her body in an instant.

"Hey, you're so loud. Can you keep it down?" Koji's voice came from above, his smile visible as he sat casually on a tree, waiting for Ori Kaito.

Ori, gasping, glared up at him, the spears still embedded in her body. Koji tilted his head. "Even for a clone, you're annoying," he said, his eyes narrowing. "This isn't the real Ori Kaito I know. Where exactly could you be? Giving you the flag is such a hassle. You're the only one who can create hundreds of clones and sustain them so effortlessly. The amount of eno energy you use is insane." He paused, then muttered, "Unlocking Dio would be a pain... What do you think?"

As he spoke, he turned around, only to find Ori standing opposite him on a tree, a wry smile on her face.

Ori jumped, but before she could react, her head was cleanly severed from her body. As her body dropped, Koji's voice rang out, cool and calculated.

"The whole place had been covered with threads. Fire, earth, air... Mixing them together, I created a solid amount of metal. From there, I reconstructed it, adding a large amount of water to make it hard and transparent—nearly invisible to the eye. Slipping past every molecule… How's that sound?"

As Koji finished speaking, the head vanished. The Ori Kaito before him was revealed to be just another clone.

" Stop playing games with me ori, where exactly are you " he said while smiling a devilish smile.

CASSANDRA

"Just as I predicted, you'd come straight to me, Cassandra," Logan said, sitting down on a wooden chair. "I got bored waiting, so I thought I should be the one coming." She replied

Cassandra was ecstatic.

"How's your dad doing? Still a failure? My dad has a lot of respect for Damon, but now he doesn't. Do you want to know why?" Within an instant she moved so fast, to him it felt like she had teleported ,Cassandra stood behind him, her anger boiling over. She punched him in the face, but he dodged by jumping out of the way. The punch landed on the chair, breaking it, and her hand cracked the earth beneath her.

"That must be a very strong punch to cause that much damage," Logan said. "Fighting me won't change your family's reputation, but what about your adopted blind brother? Is he really blind"

Logan's words struck a nerve.

"Insulting my dad is one thing," Cassandra hissed, her voice trembling with rage, "but insulting my brother—that's unforgivable!"

Before he could react, she vanished from his sight. In the blink of an eye, her fist crashed into Logan's face with bone-shattering force. He'd tried to block, but her power tore through his guard. Blood trickled down his nose as he staggered to his feet, wincing.

Cassandra stood before him, veins bulging along her temples, her fury radiating like heat.

Logan slashed the air, sending out sharp bursts of wind. The blades of air ripped through the forest, felling trees in their path, but Cassandra deflected each one effortlessly. She darted forward—only for the ground to erupt beneath her feet. Thorns shot upward, slicing into her flesh.

With a roar, she unleashed a surge of flames, burning the vines to ash. Her wounds began to seal almost instantly, flesh knitting back together before his eyes.

Logan's heart pounded. She's a monster, he thought, eyes wide. Her eno energy rivals Dio's. If she can actually use Dio… I'm dead for sure.

Cassandra's eyes glowed with intense focus as she raised her hands. The air around her rippled, and a massive rock—nearly the size of a mountain—began to lift, suspended by her elemental control. With a swift motion, she hurled it toward Logan, the earth-shattering weight of it hurtling through the air.

Logan barely had time to react, slashing through the boulder with a fierce gust of wind, splitting it down the middle. But as the pieces of rock fell away, a sudden flash of light tore through the sky. A lightning bolt, crackling with raw power, struck Logan square in the chest.

His body convulsed, the energy searing through him, and in an instant, his vision blurred. His legs buckled beneath him, and everything went black.

"I bet you didn't predict this," Cassandra said, laughing as she searched Logan for the flag.

"Stop wasting your time; it's over here," Mason said, a smug grin on his face as he held up Logan's flag. "You're too noisy, Cassandra. You've grown up... how long has it been?"

Cassandra's eyes blazed with fury. "Don't act like you're all grown up just because you're a year older. That doesn't make you superior."

Mason's temper flared. "You haven't changed at all—still the same competitive, annoying girl! Just because I'm older doesn't make me automatically better, but it does give me an edge. How can you be so naive?"

Cassandra's fists clenched in frustration. "Hand over the flag. I don't need to beat you up to prove anything. I've always been on top, even when we were kids. No matter how hard you train, that won't change. To avoid bloodshed, just give it up. You didn't give the flag to Ori, did you? She can control hundreds of clones without tiring. You should've given it to her. We've been together for years; you know that was the only way to win. But you didn't. Why? Because then she would've been the target. Sure, she's weak, but her clones... they're just so damn annoying."

As Mason spoke, one of Ori's clones sprinted past them. Without hesitation, Mason snapped his fingers, and the clone exploded in a burst of energy.

"Exactly what I was saying," he muttered, shaking his head. "So annoying."

HESPER

Kokoro and Sakura were battered and exhausted, every tactic they had tried failing to even faze Hesper. She stood there, unscathed, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "Are you girls tired already?" she taunted, her voice sweet with mockery.

With a fluid movement, Hesper stretched her arms toward the sky, her smile widening as the air around them shifted. In an instant, a massive body of water surged forth, swallowing the entire area and submerging Kokoro and Sakura. They flailed against the rising tide, their bodies sluggish from the relentless fight.

Struggling to keep their heads above the water, neither of them noticed the subtle crackle of energy building within the waves. Hesper's smirk grew wider as the water she controlled became charged with electricity.

The surge of electric current shot through the water, racing toward them. Kokoro and Sakura convulsed as the shockwaves hit, their muscles locking up in agony. Within moments, both were rendered unconscious, sinking beneath the surface.

ORI KAITO

"Ori Kaito, where are you?" Koji shouted, his voice laced with frustration as eight identical Ori Kaitos walked past him, oblivious to his anger.

"What the hell? You're so annoying!" Koji exploded, firing a barrage of lightning bolts at the clones. They vanished into thin air, like wisps of smoke.

Koji clenched his teeth, his frustration building. The problem with Ori Kaito's clones is that they look incredibly realistic. Normally, the creator's energy would surpass that of the clones, making it easier to spot them. But Ori's clones have the same energy signature as hers. It's impossible to tell them apart. This is infuriating!

He kicked a nearby tree in rage, and it snapped under the force, crashing to the ground with a loud thud.

"Ouch, my butt! Why'd you do that?" Ori's voice came from above him, and Koji looked up just in time to see her fall from the tree.

Koji scowled. "I don't have time for cheap clones like you."

"Thanks!" Ori said with a grin, brushing herself off as she sprinted off.

It wasn't until she was already running that Koji realized, Wait… that was the real Ori!

He cursed under his breath and chased after her. As he closed the distance, Ori screamed in fear, and Koji saw the reason—an enormous bear lunged at her, claws swinging inches from her face. Without hesitation, he slammed his hands to the ground, causing the earth to rise and trap the beast beneath it.

"That was close. Thanks," Ori said, her voice shaking with relief as she caught her breath.

Koji remained calm, though there was a flicker of annoyance in his eyes. "Don't thank me. Hand over the flag."

Ori smiled mischievously, raising an eyebrow. "I'm not with the flag."

Koji froze, his eyes wide with disbelief. He sat down beside her with a frustrated sigh, staring at the ground. Ori, unable to contain herself, burst into giggles.

"What's so funny?" Koji asked, clearly annoyed. "Did I say something funny?"

Ori only laughed harder, covering her face with her hands as she tried to compose herself.
