Momentum Advertising had once belonged to Diane. The revelation that Scott held shares in the company caught me completely off guard.
I glanced up at Dorian, searching his face for answers. His phone buzzed against the table, breaking the heavy silence that had settled between us.
He answered after a few rings. The conversation lasted only moments before he ended the call.
"Scott's dead." The words fell from his lips like stones into still water. Exhaustion weighed down his voice, and his features had turned grave.
First Hart behind bars. Now Scott was gone too.
That left one more man from their circle.
Coincidences this convenient didn't exist in the real world. Too many pieces were falling into place for this to be random chance.
Yet I knew with absolute certainty that Cobb hadn't orchestrated any of this. He lacked both the intelligence and the ruthlessness required for such calculated moves against his own friends.
