With Cobb now bound to the Mathews family through their engagement, he naturally expected their support during this crisis.
If the Bailey family stepped in to rescue the Zaid Group, we would secure their loyalty for future endeavors. Even a small stake in their business would prove invaluable to our interests.
The Zaid Group had committed to funding the Crestwood City development project after signing with the Mathews family. Now they desperately needed capital to honor that agreement.
"But how could Soren possibly accept our family's investment?" Dorian's brow creased with concern. "The Zaid and Mathews families are bound by marriage now. They're practically one entity."
"Do you honestly believe the Mathews family has any genuine affection for Cobb?" I challenged him.
Dorian looked startled. He stammered, "But didn't Cobb propose to Isabelle just last night?"
