Gwen Tennyson also softened a little.

Ethen's mouth twitched.

Grandpa Max listened quietly from the driver's seat.
He didn't believe a single word Charmcaster said.

But her expression remained calm.

Only the Plumber Association could dig up her criminal record.
In the next second—
Ethen opened his backpack, pulled out his customized phone, and dialed a number.
"Hello. Yes—help me run a background check."
"…Correct. Charmcaster."
While speaking, he calmly glanced at her.
"Don't worry," Gwen said kindly, patting Charmcaster's back.
"Ethen is a legendary Plumber from the Plumber Association. He'll clear your name if you're innocent!"
"…He? A legendary Plumber?!" Charmcaster's jaw dropped.
She stared at Ethen in disbelief.
Ethen ended the call and smiled faintly.
"Do I need to keep talking?"

Charmcaster immediately lowered her head.
"It's alright… Sir Plumber."
Her voice trembled with genuine fear.
Only now did she understand—
How terrifying this boy of the same age truly was.
To be recognized as a legendary Plumber meant far more than strength.
It meant judgment, intelligence, and experience.
She had no chance of fooling him.
"You'd better be honest," Ethen said coldly.
"Otherwise, I won't let you off."

The prototype tool activated and transformed into chains.
"I don't mind tying you up."
"…Whatever you say, Ethen." Charmcaster gave an awkward smile and stopped making excuses altogether.
She finally behaved.
"Ethen," Grandpa Max said while driving, "Hex mentioned tonight is a full moon. If he's going to reappear, the most likely place is the observatory."
The observatory towered hundreds of meters into the sky.
If Hex showed up under a full moon—
That would be the best place to catch him.
"Let's do it, Grandpa," Ethen nodded decisively.
As the old, broken-down car continued forward, Ethen leaned back, momentarily relaxed.
He muttered softly:
"System… open my personal panel."
