Superhero Conference
This was the press conference held by Hawke Industries today —or rather, a superhero showcase.
It was said that three superheroes would demonstrate their powers live.
This unprecedented announcement filled the venue to capacity.Almost half of New York came to watch.
And the biggest reason for the excitement was none other than Andrei, the superhero everyone knew as Super V.
In New York, you might not know the mayor —but you definitely know your friendly neighborhood hero — Super V.
Especially because of his iconic line:
"Your friendly neighbor."
This skyrocketed Super V's popularity.Every product he endorsed sold out,and Hawke Industries' stock prices soared —even before the press conference had begun.
The market was going wild.
Fans couldn't hold back their chants:
"Super V! Super V! We want Super V!"
Inside Hawke Industries, Nathan Hawke felt the power pulsing through his body, lightning flickering at his fingertips.
"That's it… the more people who believe in superheroes, the more supervillains I can summon —and the stronger I'll become."
The summoning resonance within him was growing. He knew the next summoning was drawing near.
At the press event, many wondered why Nathan Hawke himself wasn't present.
It wasn't until someone explained that he was attending a charity galathat public opinion began to turn in his favor.
Though Nathan didn't actually attend the gala, the donations and aid he provided were real —and those recipients would soon become his most devoted fans.
Everything began with the children.
The press conference was a resounding success.
Super V's telekinesis,The Invisible Man's invisibility, and Electro's lightning powerskept the crowd roaring with excitement.
After their joint appearance, each hero had solo interviews, dedicated media booths, exclusive merchandise, and photo ops.
They performed demonstrations —making objects float, turning people invisible, and charging fans' devices with electric energy.
By around 11 PM,with the help of Hawke Industries' staff and local police, the event concluded smoothly.
But behind the success, something was off.
Inside Hawke Tower, the three heroes collapsed onto the floor.
"Man, I'm exhausted,"Andrei muttered, floating a can of soda toward himself with telekinesis.
Max Dillon (Electro) stared up at the ceiling.
"You guys have no idea what kind of stuff people asked me to charge today."
Both Andrei and the Invisible Man looked at him curiously.Max pointed downward.
"Hisss—" They both inhaled sharply.
"They play that wild?" the Invisible Man asked, stunned.
"You wouldn't believe it," Max said, rolling his eyes."Some brought toys, some didn't."
The Invisible Man grinned mischievously.
"Well then, let's take a look at your future fanbase."
He and Andrei exchanged knowing smirks.
"Were there men and women?" Andrei asked, intrigued.
Max refused to answer and fired a small electric spark at him.Andrei waved it away easily.
The Invisible Man burst out laughing.
After this little episode, the three grew noticeably closer.
"Tomorrow, you'll both start acting as real superheroes,"Andrei said encouragingly before leaving.
"Got it.""No problem."
The Invisible Man had perfected his abilities — no issue there.Max Dillon, though, was still uneasy, planning to refine his image and superhero lines later.
Meanwhile, Nathan Hawke was in discussion with Wesker.
"Hawke Industries' stock is skyrocketing," Wesker said."It'll soon stabilize and dip — we should be ready."
"I've already found several suitable offshore sites.Once the funds are in place, we can begin deployment."
Wesker had identified ideal locations abroadfor bio-weapon research and combat simulations, awaiting Hawke's financial support.
Umbrella's domestic funds were insufficient for such expansion.Equipment, transport, and labor required massive capital —without a strong cash flow, it was impossible.
After discussing the logistics, Nathan left to rest.
Wesker, however, didn't need sleep. His T-virus enhanced body kept him fully alert for days.
Nathan could stay awake using telekinetic focus, but his endurance still wasn't on Wesker's level. When he first summoned Wesker, the man's strength — and the virus — were only half as powerful as now.
Over time, they'd absorbed bits of Nathan's altered genes, granting them telepathy, invisibility, electricity, and stamina.
Among them, the Invisible Man actually had the strongest body, though even he wasn't bomb-proof.
Nathan didn't need rest —but he chose to anyway.
The next morning, Nathan received a message from Justin Hammer.
"You're a big star now.I was at your event yesterday, thought you'd show up —but you didn't.Anyway, you're coming to my place today."
"Sure. I'll be right there."
Their first meeting had been at a weapons expo.Justin Hammer had been giving speeches to military buyerswhen someone mentioned Tony Stark.
Hammer froze for a moment, but quickly recovered and continued boasting about his "invincible" weapons.
His weapons were cheap, varied, and quick to produce —earning him a military contract despite the competition.
Nathan's visit today wasn't random —he was building his network.
He purchased large quantities of weapons for Wesker's projects.
When Hammer learned his guest was the heir and CEO of Hawke Industries,he immediately saw the opportunity —more friends, more profits.
He even offered his weapons at production cost.
Their business friendship began that day.
Nathan entered his car and told the driver,
"To Hammer Industries."
But soon, he noticed the route had changed.
Nathan's eyes narrowed. With a flick of telekinesis, the driver's skull snapped —and the car veered back on course, guided now by Nathan's power.
"Boss, the target vehicle is back on route,"one operative reported through binoculars.
"Didn't we already replace the driver?"asked a man wearing a skull mask.
"Yes, but… the car isn't behaving as expected."
"You mean our man might be dead?"
Before the spotter could answer, his headset crackled.
"Boss, according to our nearby observers, the driver's still inside — but he looks… off."
"Off?"
"Yes, sir. Body language experts say he's completely limp."
The skull-masked man fell silent. Then coldly ordered,
"Feed him something hard."
Operation: Eliminate Nathan Hawke — began.
Two cars tailed Nathan's from behind, while others blocked him from the front.
"Who's trying to kill me?"
Nathan's eyes gleamed.A name surfaced in his mind —HYDRA.
He smirked and pressed a hidden button on his suit.
Immediately, three signals went out —his summoned heroes received the command.
Andrei arrived first.Seeing cars blocking the bridge,he waved his hand —metal parts buckled and tore loose.
Vehicles spun out of control, crashing into one another and plunging into the river below.
A sharp whirr — a special bullet spun through the air, piercing the glass and stopping just a breath away from Nathan's temple, suspended by telekinetic force.
Tracing the bullet's path,Andrei launched himself toward the shooter.
"Super V's here! Retreat!"
The ambushers panicked, dropping their weapons as they fled.
"Leaving so soon?"
Andrei's telepathic pulse knocked them all unconscious.
"Wesker's going to love these new lab samples,"he said coldly, glancing at the fallen men.
"Mission failed," one observer muttered into his radio.
"Everyone, retreat!" the skull-masked man ordered.
But before they could escape,a blinding flash filled the air.
Electro descended from above.
"Going somewhere?"
"Kill him!"
Gunfire erupted —but the bullets never reached him.
"You fools never learn,"Max sneered, lightning sparking in his eyes.
In an instant, bolts of energy surged outward, electrocuting the entire strike team.
"Looks like Umbrella just found fresh test subjects,"Max muttered.
A metal door slammed open. The skull-masked man stumbled inside and sealed it shut.
"Brock, did you handle it?"came a sharp voice — Sitwell.
"Handled?" Brock Rumlow growled, and kicked a nearby table to pieces.
Sitwell frowned.
"Superheroes — especially Super V and Electro —are far beyond our strike team's capabilities," he admitted.
Remembering the massacre caused by Electro's arrival,Rumlow punched another desk into splinters.
Sitwell stayed quiet.
"The Director will understand,"he finally said, trying to comfort him.
Rumlow — a super-soldier — had never imagined failure. But reality had taught him a harsh lesson:there's always someone stronger.
Sitwell couldn't explain why,but he felt a flicker of sympathy —perhaps the kind only a subordinate could feelfor someone consumed by rage and defeat.
