After Electro followed Nathan Hawke back to the Marvel universe, he returned home — to a life that was ordinary, yet extraordinary in its own way. For him, this was a brand-new beginning — a future he both anticipated and feared.
When he stepped into his familiar home, looking at the furniture and decorations he once knew, he couldn't help but sigh at how much he had changed.
"Hey, Electro, you coming to the party?" Andrew flew over to him, smiling warmly.
"No. But you — didn't you say you didn't want to train anymore? What, changed your mind?" Electro replied with a grin.
"That's because there's no room for improvement right now. I've just been too tired lately," Andrew muttered. In truth, Nathan Hawke and Wesker had sent him to check up on Electro.
Since returning, Electro had been isolating himself at home, going nowhere, which worried everyone.
"I'm not going. You go have fun," Electro said, waving him off.
Andrew nodded. "Alright. But listen, if you can, maybe let the others know you're taking time off. That way, they won't keep worrying about you."
"Tch. So that's what this is about." Electro smirked.
"Hah, glad you caught on," Andrew chuckled openly. "Anyway, call me when you're ready. Some really gorgeous girls showed up recently — I won't say more. I'm outta here." With that, he shot up into the sky.
Watching him leave, Electro couldn't help but smile bitterly. He knew Andrew cared, but he didn't want to be anyone's burden.
Back inside, Electro sat quietly on the sofa, reflecting on the battles with the Chitauri, the chaos of Night City, and his former life — his past self, and his old rival, Spider-Man. He knew he had escaped the fate of despair and been reborn, but he also understood that this new life wouldn't be easy.
He had once been an ordinary man, until that fateful accident changed everything. Now, he possessed incredible power — but with that power came heavy responsibility and pressure.
He knew he could no longer hide or run from reality. He had to face it — and himself.
"Am I still a supervillain?"
"…No. I'm a hero now."
Electro stood up and walked to the window, gazing at the starry night sky. He made a silent vow: from now on, he would use his power to protect those he cared about and help those in need.
He knew the path ahead wouldn't be smooth — but he was ready. No matter what obstacles awaited him, he would not back down. He had found his conviction, and his will.
"From today onward," he whispered, "I'll become a true hero."
Nathan Hawke was stunned as he read the message from Wesker.
"Ghost, Electro has turned over a new leaf."
The report showed that after their retreat, Electro had pulled himself together and was now seriously carrying out heroic duties. Nathan was both surprised and impressed by his transformation.
"It seems he's finally found his purpose — and the courage to be a true hero," Nathan murmured.
He admired but also wrestled with Electro's decision. After that devastating battle, Electro had truly broken free from darkness and rediscovered his path. Becoming a hero and protecting others was a noble choice — but it was also a heavy one.
"Boss!"
Both men turned toward the door. The Invisible Man strode into the office, his tone sharp: "Boss, Wesker — is it true? Electro's going to be a superhero now?"
He frowned, recalling old, unpleasant memories. "When a bunch of villains start turning good — or when one of us crosses over to the hero side — that means cracks are forming in our unity."
Nathan chuckled. "You're afraid Electro's going to grow a conscience and destroy us?"
"Haha, come on, boss, you're joking." The Invisible Man gave an awkward laugh, then sighed. "Boss, I've seen this before. I used to be part of the Seven — remember?"
"Honestly," Nathan said, folding his papers and looking him in the eye, "I don't know what to do. What matters most is what Electro wants."
"Boss, you know I'm the weakest one here," the Invisible Man said with a sheepish grin, blinking rapidly to emphasize the point.
Nathan raised an eyebrow. "I see. No wonder you've been hanging around with Zhan Jilingma and Cruz lately — looks like you're feeling the pressure."
"Yes, yes, boss, that's exactly what I meant," the Invisible Man said quickly.
Wesker smirked. "You've been injected with the G-virus — and even a bit of some high-grade, unknown gene compound. With your enhanced physique, even if you can't beat Electro, you can at least run from him."
Exposed but unbothered, the Invisible Man simply looked at Nathan.
"See? I'm useless now," Nathan said, spreading his hands. "If Electro's gone straight, what can I even do?"
Wesker shook his head. "Electro's transformation was his own choice. There's no need to force him back. If he truly wants to be a hero, we don't need to stop him."
"Right," the Invisible Man added. "He has his own beliefs. We're not here to fight him — we have our own goals. Everyone's got their own path to walk."
Nathan stared at him in surprise. "When did you grow a conscience?"
Then he nodded in agreement. "You're right. Each of us is an individual, with our own choices and beliefs. I'm glad Electro found his."
A crow flew past the window.
"Enough about this," Nathan said with irritation. "As long as Electro's willing to join us again someday, that's all that matters." He issued an order to seal the information immediately.
Though Electro was now acting as a hero, he hadn't reported back to the company — nor returned to his post. Instead, he had quietly taken an internal leave of absence. As a result, the Hawke Group and his logistics team believed they'd been dismissed — by either Electro or Hawke himself.
Rumors spread. People heard about Electro's public heroics but hadn't seen him, and speculation within the company grew rampant.
Nathan handled it calmly. He knew Electro needed time — time to adjust to his new identity and responsibilities. Pressuring him now would only backfire.
Following Nathan's orders, the company kept Electro's situation confidential. Only a handful of senior executives knew the truth. For now, they would not interfere — only continue executing Hawke's larger plans.
Late at night.
Nathan Hawke drove a sleek black luxury car to the Umbrella Research Facility — a secret base hidden deep in the forest outside the city.
Inside, Zhan Jilingma's assistant escorted Nathan to the command center. The lab was bright and immaculate, filled with advanced machinery and computers.
"Welcome, sir," Zhan greeted him with a smile. "I've prepared a report on our latest research progress."
"Excellent. I'm eager to hear it," Nathan nodded, motioning for him to continue.
Zhan activated the display, revealing streams of data and complex charts. "Over the past few months, we've been integrating technology captured from Night City — as well as military tech and assets from other corporations — to advance our research in intelligent systems, AI, and bioengineering."
Nathan's eyes sharpened; he had always been deeply interested in cutting-edge science. These developments were crucial to Umbrella's growth — and his own ambitions.
"These technologies span multiple fields," Zhan continued proudly. "We've successfully merged them and achieved several breakthroughs. Our next-generation AI systems now possess enhanced self-learning and adaptive capabilities, allowing them to respond to complex, unpredictable scenarios."
"In bioengineering, we've made progress as well. Through genetic modification, we've created organisms with enhanced physical traits — speed, strength, and endurance far beyond human limits."
Nathan smiled in satisfaction. These advancements would greatly strengthen Umbrella's power.
"What applications do you have in mind for them?" he asked.
"We're applying them across all sectors of Umbrella's operations — security, intelligence, and personnel training," Zhan explained. "The AI systems make our defenses smarter, able to anticipate and counter potential threats."
"The bioengineering upgrades, meanwhile, enhance the capabilities of our Umbrella Control Units, allowing them to handle high-risk missions with greater success."
"Impressive work," Nathan praised. "These innovations will significantly boost our organization's strength."
Then, after a pause, he asked, "By the way — while I'm not in charge of your assignments directly — since you're overseeing this project, where does that leave Cruz?"
