Chapter 82 - Chapter 81: S-Rank Sealing Technique, Reaper Death Seal

"Mom, didn't you say that without the Uzumaki bloodline it was impossible to use the Adamantine Sealing Chains? Then how do you explain Itsuki right now?"

Karin didn't care that Itsuki was still testing the technique.

She ran forward and hugged his arm tightly, refusing to let go.

At first Itsuki worried he might hurt her, but he quickly realized he could control the golden chains with ease.

Unlike Karin's earlier attempts, his power carried no risk of losing control.

"I… I don't know either." Kana's voice trembled; she was too shocked to recover her composure.

Karin, however, boldly speculated, "Doesn't this mean Itsuki might actually have the Uzumaki bloodline? If that's true, we could even be relatives!"

Kana nodded slightly, agreeing. "That may be the only explanation. Perhaps Lord Itsuki's maternal family had Uzumaki blood. After all, the Land of Whirlpools and Konoha once had close ties. The First Hokage's wife herself was an Uzumaki. Lord Itsuki, do you know anything about your family background?"

Itsuki shook his head. "My parents died when I was very young. I grew up alone. I don't know who they were."

In the timeline, his parents would have died during the Nine-Tails' attack.

He had spent his childhood in an orphanage, later supporting himself with the small allowance provided by the village.

Of course, those were just the background settings he had been given.

Itsuki knew the truth: he was an ordinary commoner, his parents weren't even shinobi.

His ability to awaken the Adamantine Sealing Chains was entirely thanks to the Fabrication System.

But Kana and Karin didn't know that. In their eyes, Itsuki was surely Uzumaki.

Their expressions softened, becoming warmer and more affectionate toward him.

"I didn't know you suffered so much growing up." Karin's voice wavered, eyes glistening. "From now on, Mom and I will be your family. You won't ever be alone again!"

Kana was moved too. She stepped forward, embracing both children at once. "Karin is right. From now on, we are family. No matter what happens, whenever you return here, this will always be your home, Itsuki."

Itsuki opened his mouth to correct them—but stopped. It was just a misunderstanding, nothing that would cause harm.

After awakening the Adamantine Sealing Chains, he briefly tested the Kagura Mind's Eye.

To his surprise, it activated on the first try. His range extended only a few kilometers for now, but with training, he could surely refine it further.

Kana was stunned. "Lord Itsuki's talent is truly incredible. Even within Uzumaki history, no one could compare to you in terms of raw ability."

She grew more and more certain he had Uzumaki blood.

Itsuki casually flipped through one of the scrolls she had given him, but when his eyes landed on one particular technique, they narrowed slightly.

Kana quickly reached out, blocking his view, and said urgently, "Lord Itsuki, you must not attempt that one! It demands the caster's soul as the price. It's more cruel than dying with your enemy."

She cursed herself silently for forgetting to remove it from the scroll beforehand.

Itsuki only smiled faintly. "Don't worry, Aunt Kana. I've no intention of gambling with my own soul. I haven't lived enough yet."

But in his mind, he had already recognized the technique: the Reaper Death Seal (Shiki Fūjin).

The Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, had used this very jutsu to seal the Nine-Tails.

An S-rank sealing technique, it summoned the God of Death, allowing the caster to bind an enemy's soul—at the cost of their own.

Both the caster and the sealed victim would remain trapped in the Shinigami's stomach forever.

Itsuki stroked his chin, thinking. This jutsu was powerful, but he also remembered one person who had once exploited a loophole in it.

Before traveling to this world, he had thought about that "bug" too.

If it truly worked, then the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques could rival even Susanoo.

"Aunt Kana, may I ask you something?" Itsuki's eyes gleamed with curiosity.

"If I were to cast the Reaper Death Seal… but didn't actually seal anything, then dispelled the jutsu—would the Shinigami still take my soul?"

Kana stiffened, horrified. Lord Itsuki was already tempted by this jutsu!

She wanted to refuse outright, but feared he might secretly experiment on his own. With no other choice, she answered carefully.

"Once the Reaper Death Seal is invoked, it cannot be undone. There are only two outcomes: success or failure. But in either case, the caster's soul is taken away."

She gripped his arm tightly. "That's why, Itsuki, you must never attempt this. The fate it brings is worse than death."

Itsuki rubbed his chin, deep in thought. So the jutsu is irreversible. That means it can't be canceled early?

Kana's anxiety only grew. "Promise me, Itsuki—you will never learn the Reaper Death Seal!"

He chuckled softly. "Aunt Kana, I understand your concern. But every technique exists for a reason. Of course, I won't recklessly gamble with my soul. But this jutsu does have its uses. I'd like to study it—but only when I know it's safe."

He leaned in, lowering his voice. "Besides, there actually is a way to break the Reaper Death Seal."

Kana's eyes widened. "A way to break it? I've never heard of such a thing."

Itsuki explained what he knew, partly to reassure her.

But instead, Kana clenched her fists with determination. "So… even undoing the Reaper Death Seal requires another soul sacrifice. If that's true, then hear me, Itsuki. If you ever become trapped in this jutsu… I will give my soul to save you."

Itsuki froze, flustered. That was the opposite of what he wanted.

He waved his hands quickly. "No, no, no! Forget it. I'd never allow that. I promise you, Aunt Kana—I won't get myself sealed."

Kana hesitated, then sighed softly. "…Actually, there is a third possibility."

Itsuki raised a brow.

She explained, "Someone once asked the same question as you. He tested it—he summoned the Shinigami, but canceled the technique before sealing anything. His soul was not taken away. But…"

Her expression darkened. "Even so, his soul was weakened for years. The Shinigami drained some of his essence before letting go. That is the price of even attempting to use it."

Itsuki listened carefully, brows furrowed.

Kana looked at him seriously. "That's why no one sane would ever test it again. Dealing with the Shinigami always comes with a cost."
