Chapter 121 - Chapter 120: Oh no! Bull attack, Bull attack!!

Midori was the leader, after all, and he reacted in time to suppress the fight between the Grass Genin.

But the pasture was already ruined—nearly 80% of it destroyed.

Under Midori's command, the earth was filled back in, but the grass would not regrow overnight. Compensation would inevitably be required.

"A bunch of bastards!" Midori cursed inwardly, his face darkening.

Although many ninjas in Kusagakure were undisciplined due to internal faction struggles, they were never usually this reckless.

Could it be that members of the Grass Dove faction wanted to use this chance to drag him down from his position as leader?

The thought made Midori's eyes sharpen.

"You short-sighted fools… playing petty games while Kusagakure's survival is on the line. Do you even understand what's at stake?"

"Or has there been new progress with the Paradise Treasure Chest?"

He quickly dismissed the idea. "No! Even if something was developed, it still wouldn't threaten the Five Great Nations. They're too naïve. So many people have died already, and they still haven't learned."

He sighed heavily, recalling:

"That bastard Mui even sacrificed his own son, and still came up with nothing. What a pity Muku died for nothing… If he had lived, he would've had the strength to succeed me one day. His achievements would've surpassed mine…"

For a moment, Midori's stern face softened with regret.

But reality pulled him back—Kusagakure was drowning in both internal and external crises.

He led the Grass Flower faction, who advocated uniting resources to develop steadily.

Even if they couldn't surpass the Five Great Nations, they could at least make Kusagakure the strongest of the smaller nations.

But his cousin Mui, leader of the Grass Fruit faction, was obsessed with uncovering the secret of the Paradise Treasure Chest.

The legend said the chest was a relic left behind by the Sage of Six Paths, granting unimaginable power to anyone who opened it.

Mui believed it was Kusagakure's only path to supremacy.

Midori, however, preferred to build strength step by step.

The two factions clashed endlessly. Finally, Mui took away the high-ranking Grass Fruit members, along with the Paradise Treasure Chest, and occupied Hozuki Castle to pursue his research.

Kusagakure, drained of powerful ninja, plummeted from a second-tier power into prey for neighboring nations.

Now, Midori was forced to bring his people to Konoha.

Seeking protection was one reason, but his true aim was to form a real alliance with Konoha—one that could save Kusagakure.

The current "alliance" was nothing but words. No shared interests, no binding promises.

"I just pray we don't cause a disaster here. If we offend Konoha, Kusagakure's final retreat will be cut off."

His expression grew heavy.

"Mui, do you understand? Even if you solve the mystery of the Paradise Treasure Chest, what good will it do if everyone in the village is dead?"

Meanwhile, the Kusagakure ninjas who had been hypnotized by Itsuki earlier were returning in groups of two or three.

Most wore expressions of irritation, clearly unwilling but compelled to come back.

Itsuki, hiding nearby, noticed Karin and her mother arriving with the Konoha girls. He smirked, eyes narrowing.

Is the scene from the future video about to start?

Sure enough, he soon spotted several Amegakure ninjas quietly scouting around the Kusagakure lodging area.

"If I remember right, by now Amegakure was already under Akatsuki's control," Itsuki mused, rubbing his chin.

"But most Rain ninja still believed their leader was Hanzo."

Nagato was already ruling from the shadows, masquerading as Hanzo.

When Konoha issued invitations for this year's Chunin Exams, Amegakure dared not slack off.

They sent nine teams to participate.

The Rain ninja still wore their old gas masks and oxygen masks.

"Those bastards," one Rain ninja muttered. "No wonder they act so arrogant—there are a lot of them here."

Another crouched low. "But we need to be careful. If we're discovered, the consequences will be ugly."

"Unlucky," the third one cursed.

"This means we can't fight openly. We'll have to use the terrain or other tricks to strike from the shadows. It's risky, but I can't swallow the humiliation I suffered earlier."

"Me too!"

"Same here!"

The other two nodded grimly, and the trio began whispering their plan.

Itsuki, watching from a distance, chuckled.

"Ha, I know those faces… Aren't they the same losers who got eliminated by Team 7 in the Forest of Death? The ones Naruto's squad took down right before Orochimaru appeared?"

He leaned back against the tree, smirking.

As the three Rain ninja discussed, their gazes drifted toward the cattle herd grazing nearby.

Itsuki's grin widened. I had anticipated this.

Beforehand, he had purchased a special medicine that reddened animals' eyes and made them aggressive.

Earlier, he had scattered it over the grass.

Now, the effects were beginning to show.

All it would take was one spark for chaos to ignite.

[Ino Yamanaka: They're starting to move! This is gonna be fun!]

[Sakura Haruno: The big scene's about to begin—let's get it rolling already.]

[Tenten: Everyone, be careful! Stay hidden. If we get exposed, we'll be in trouble too.]

[Hinata Hyuga: I-I'm nervous… but kind of excited at the same time.]

[Uzumaki Karin: I didn't expect Mom to get so emotional after learning the truth. She's been through so much all these years…]

The girls relayed their feelings in the chat group as they started live-streaming from their positions, sharing their perspectives with Tsunade and the others.

Though the adults didn't allow the children to intervene, Kurenai Yuhi and Anko Mitarashi were already tailing them secretly, ready to step in if things got dangerous.

At that moment, the three Rain ninja began their plan.

They looked at each other, nodded, and acted in unison.

"Water Style: Black Rain Jutsu!"

"Water Style: Water Clone Jutsu!"

"Clone Jutsu!"

Chakra-infused black rain poured down, drenching the cattle herd.

The already-irritated animals grew frenzied. Their bloodshot eyes burned with rage.

The water clones darted among the cattle, attacking from all directions.

Though they were nothing but illusions, the animals couldn't tell the difference.

The bulls bellowed and retaliated, slamming their horns into the phantom attackers.

But every time they destroyed one, another appeared. Shadows kept multiplying endlessly.

The herd's fury erupted, their attacks growing wilder.

The Rain ninja exchanged astonished looks.

They hadn't expected their provocation to work this well—no, it was even better than they imagined.

They immediately began maneuvering the clones to drive the stampeding herd straight toward Kusagakure's quarters.

Some Grass ninja finally noticed the chaos, but by then it was too late. The drug had fully taken effect.

A wall of enraged cattle charged forward, eyes blazing red, hooves tearing up the ground.

"Oh no! Bull attack, bull attack!! They're coming for revenge!" a Kusagakure ninja screamed in terror.
