The Konoha Ninja Academy was covered by a shimmering layer of golden light.
Outside, a group of Kusagakure ninjas, led by their commander Midori, launched relentless attacks against the barrier.
"All of you, go together! We must break through as quickly as possible!" Midori shouted urgently.
He had already tried several direct attacks, but the barrier held firm, as solid as stone.
Even if he poured all his chakra into it, he couldn't make it budge.
But time was critical. For the sake of his plan, he couldn't afford to exhaust himself on the barrier.
His only option was to rely on sheer numbers to grind down its chakra reserves.
Once it broke, they could storm in, seize the students inside, and use them to blackmail Konoha into handing over resources.
If Konoha compromised, Kusagakure would gain prestige overnight, and his goal of strengthening his village would be achieved.
And the rumor that the Third Hokage's grandson was among the children? That only made things more tempting.
But Midori hadn't expected trouble right at the start.
As soon as he arrived at the Academy gates, a red-haired kunoichi had appeared and erected the golden barrier. It was incredibly stable.
"This woman… she's definitely from the Uzumaki clan, just like the human-shaped weapon we failed to capture!" Midori's eyes gleamed as he stared at the barrier.

He forced himself to stay calm. "Our power may be limited, but nothing must happen to the children. If Honoka collapses, then we, the teachers, will be the final line of defense."
"Even if it costs our lives, we will not let the enemy through these doors!" Iruka's authority steadied the teachers.
Under his lead, they formed up at the entrance, prepared to shield the students with their own bodies if necessary.
Honoka didn't waste words. She clenched her teeth and forced out every ounce of chakra she could muster.
She had already sent a distress signal through the group chat—reinforcements would arrive.
And right on cue, the chaos began outside.
"Ninja Art: Mind-Body Switch Jutsu!"
"Summoning Jutsu: Deep Sea Water!"
"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!"
Support had arrived.
Ino and Tenten, who had been in the Academy gym, rushed straight to the scene after receiving Honoka's signal.
At the same time, Anko Mitarashi, who was nearby evacuating villagers, appeared on the battlefield.
Ino's Shinranshin Jutsu spread over the crowd, seizing control of more than a dozen Grass ninja at once.
They immediately turned their weapons on their allies, slashing and stabbing in confusion.
The ambushed Grass ninjas were completely unprepared.
They had been shoulder-to-shoulder just moments ago. Now, they were cut down before they understood what was happening.
Meanwhile, Tenten unrolled a scroll and released a torrent of water from the sky.
Some of the stronger Kusagakure ninja quickly cast Water-Style ninjutsu to counter it.
But this wasn't ordinary water—it was deep sea water, carrying crushing pressure and weight.
Their defensive jutsu shattered instantly, and the rest of the Grass ninjas were pummeled under the heavy deluge.
In just moments, Ino and Tenten had thrown the enemy ranks into chaos, inflicting heavy casualties.
And then Anko joined the fray.
Her serpents lashed out, binding limbs and sinking fangs into flesh.
Screams echoed as Kusagakure ninjas collapsed one after another, poisoned in seconds.
Kusagakure had come with numbers, but their force was little more than a rabble.
Few among them were jonin—the majority were only chunin and genin.
Against three determined Konoha kunoichi, they didn't stand a chance. Within minutes, their morale shattered.
Midori gritted his teeth, trying to rally the last few elite fighters. But before he could act, Yugao Uzuki arrived at the head of a squad of Anbu.
Faced with overwhelming force, Midori had no choice. He gave the order to retreat.
Kusagakure had come brimming with ambition and dreams of revival.
Instead, they left broken and humiliated. Their battlefield collapsed first of all.
Meanwhile, in the back mountain of Konoha.
Seeing that Itsuki hadn't fallen for his hostage threat, Danzo's eyes went cold.
His right arm, which he had been pretending was crippled, suddenly moved. He pulled out a kunai and thrust it at Kana.
He wanted to test whether Itsuki really didn't care for the hostage—or if he was bluffing.
Itsuki's Sharingan glinted dangerously. He was ready to strike.
But before Danzo's kunai could land, a golden flash burst between them.
Chains erupted from the air, piercing through Danzo's body and wrapping around Kana, yanking her back to safety.
At the same time, more chains lashed out at Danzo's guards, forcing them to scatter.
It was Mito Uzumaki and Kushina Uzumaki.
They had freed themselves from Orochimaru's Impure World Reincarnation. They hadn't planned on interfering with the living—but Danzo's cruelty left them furious.
And with Kana, an Uzumaki, being used as a hostage, they couldn't stand by.
When Uzumaki Country was destroyed in their lifetime, they had been unable to leave Konoha to help.
Now that they saw a clanswoman suffering under Danzo, they would not allow it.
Danzo's face twisted as the Adamantine Sealing Chains ripped through him.
To survive, he abandoned Kana and retreated, blood dripping from holes punched through his body.
"You two… aren't you supposed to be Edo Tensei puppets?!" Danzo's mind reeled. Orochimaru had failed him.
Itsuki caught Kana in his arms. With her safe, his fury exploded. Dozens of golden chains whipped out behind him, forming into drills.
"Adamantine Sealing Chains: Wolf Fang!"
The chains twisted together into a massive drill, spinning with terrifying force. Chakra surged into it, generating a tornado of destruction.
With a single strike, more than a dozen Root operatives were torn apart, not even given the chance to scream.
If Karin could develop this technique, then Itsuki, with his vast chakra, could wield it even more devastatingly.
The destructive power rivaled even the Raikage's Lariat.
"You've mastered the Adamantine Sealing Chains as well?" Mito said in shock.
Kushina's eyes widened. "And not just mastered it—but turned it into something like this? Incredible!"
If even Kushina, who had inherited the Uzumaki chains herself, was this astonished, then the terror Danzo felt was only natural.
His face went pale.
"Sage Master… it's time for you to take action!" Danzo roared desperately into the void as he staggered back.
