Chapter 44 - 44: Heaven-Defying Power

A radiant portal of light opened in midair as Balder stepped through.

"Pfft…!"

At once, he spat out a mouthful of divine blood.

The sacred liquid splattered across the ground, bathing the entire area in brilliant light.

Where it fell, flowers bloomed, and grass grew taller as though nourished by divine grace.

"Sir, what happened?!"

Ivanka rushed toward him in alarm.

Balder waved her off.

Without a word, his figure blurred and vanished—reappearing moments later inside his private chamber.

Only then did he release the suppression over his wounds.

His aura weakened sharply; color drained from his face.

When he opened his tunic, a terrifying sight was revealed—

A crack ran across his chest, like fractured glass, glowing faintly with surges of radiant divine power.

He closed his clothing again and summoned the Idol of Faith, channeling the faith energy stored within it to repair his injuries.

Half an hour passed before color slowly returned to his cheeks.

"That false omniscient power… is truly terrifying."

Balder—the Asgardian God of Light, wielder of the primal Light Authority—was no stranger to high-tier power.

The Light itself ranked just below the supreme forces of Time and Fate.

Among beings of his class, few could match him.

Yet somehow, a so-called god from a low-magic world—barely at the "Extraordinary" level—had managed to wound him.

Worse still, it wasn't just a scratch. It was cross-tier damage.

The realization only made the fire in his eyes burn brighter.

"That power… I must obtain it. I must seize the False Omniscience and Omnipotence!"

It was beyond strong—it was absurd.

Having battled it firsthand, Balder now understood its essence.

In simple terms, that authority comprised three aspects:

Analysis. Simulation. Dominion.

To put it plainly—

If you handed this god the formula for a nuclear bomb, He could analyze and simulate the entire process of its creation.

And then?

He could simply manifest it from nothing.

With His power, He didn't need to build a bomb—He could become the bomb.

That was the meaning of Omniscience—to know everything.

And Omnipotence—to control everything.

That god, despite having no supernatural hierarchy or external system of power, could grasp and command every natural trait in existence:

the strength of a whale,

the lifting force of an ant,

the speed of a peregrine falcon,

the regeneration of a salamander or starfish,

the survival instinct of a gecko,

the adaptability of a tardigrade…

All combined in one being.

Every punch carried the force of a million tons.

Every movement rivaled speed-type transcendents.

His endurance and regeneration were beyond reason—if you didn't kill Him outright, He'd adapt and recover instantly.

Even if faced with an attack that could truly destroy Him, He would sacrifice a limb and escape, burrowing into the earth to survive.

By analyzing and controlling everything, He could merge with any substance—metal, soil, or water—and reshape Himself into any form imaginable, from a serpent to a titan.

Unkillable. Unstoppable. Unbelievable.

And worst of all—

He had begun to analyze Balder's divine artifact, the Wheel of Light itself.

That artifact, forged from a stellar core and Uru metal, was a gift from Odin the All-Father.

Uru was Asgard's sacred metal—immensely adaptable to magic, nearly immune to enchantment.

The legendary Destroyer Armor Odin once wore in battle against the Celestials was forged entirely from Uru.

So if that false god managed to analyze even a fraction of Uru's anti-magic properties—

he would become a near-unstoppable monster.

Balder's expression hardened.

"Still… even that power isn't without flaws. I've found at least two."

His eyes gleamed sharply.

"First—he didn't directly analyze me. If the False Omniscient Power could fully parse my being, he should've ascended to my level—an Asgardian Sub-Father. The fact that he didn't means the power's analytical range is limited by hierarchical level. He couldn't cross the gap between us instantly."

Indeed, even though that god could analyze the Wheel of Light, he couldn't immediately comprehend Balder himself.

That alone proved the restriction.

"Second—the power doesn't remain active constantly. He used it intermittently. That means the energy cost must be astronomical."

That was logical.

A power capable of rewriting reality couldn't possibly be efficient.

If its consumption were small, it wouldn't just be broken—it would be absurd.

Which led to a critical conclusion:

Against such a being, you cannot afford a drawn-out fight.

You must strike unseen, before He begins analysis.

A single, hidden, killing blow.

Balder raised his hand.

Before him, the World Gate manifested again, swirling with cosmic energy.

"Temporarily seal off the portal to the 'God' world. Begin locating the I, Frankenstein world."

Having now grasped the nature of False Omniscience, he had lost all interest in the Preacher world.

Whether that universe belonged to DC's infinite multiverse or not—it no longer mattered.

After all, if a world truly contained an "Almighty" who wielded false omniscience, then any being stronger than Him could not coexist for long.

That world's "Saint Killer" or "Genesis" must have been manifestations of higher entities—perhaps even projections of supreme beings.

Or worse, the entire world might have been a construct designed by the god Himself—a divine sandbox.

Either way, that world was far too dangerous to meddle with.

Since some of his faith energy was still being diverted to heal his injuries, the search efficiency this time was slower.

Balder didn't mind. He allowed the gate to continue scanning on its own.

Then, with a flick of his hand, several objects appeared before him—

two arms, a severed leg, half a heart, various organs, and vials of divine blood, shimmering faintly with starlight.

He gazed at the remains, murmuring:

"The False Omniscient Power is an Authority. It can only be taken by killing its wielder outright—or by forcibly seizing it whole. These fragments aren't enough to grant me that power…"

A faint smile crossed his lips.

"But since they originated from a god who possessed it… they still carry traces of His divinity. Perhaps I can use these to forge a weapon specialized against such gods."
