Chapter 16 - Five Dragon Kings

I was standing in the closed room. In front of me stood Iris, staring at me. Finally opened her mouth, breaking the silence.

"Do you know about that red-haired kid?" She asked in a serious tone.

"No", I replied calmly, waiting for her explanation.

She glanced at Verina. Understanding her sign, Verina left the room, closing the door behind her. I was still waiting for her answer silently.

"You may not be familiar with the power structure of this world. Even without joining this much power is unimaginable except for the Dragon Kings' inheritance. If I am not wrong, you have the inheritance of Black Dragon King's inheritance, right?" She explained, giving me a lot of information about this world.

'Denying her is no use. Let's go with the flow and get more information from her.' I thought before replying to her, "So"

"There are five Dragon Kings in this world, the only hope for the survival of this world," she said.

"Oh", I nodded. Maybe my reaction, or whatever, she looked quite annoyed.

"You should know, this power comes at a cost. It is not for fun or yourself but to save the world." She said in a serious tone.

"Okay, but let me tell you one thing: I don't have the Black Dragon Inheritance. So, I don't really need to do your work. This power is mine. I got it myself, not from someone else, not even from this world." Leaving behind these words, I opened the door and left without giving her any chance to blabber about destiny or other things.

When I came out of the room, Verina was still standing there. I simply ignored her and left from there, heading straight out of the college.

As I was walking out, I saw a Boy walking in wearing a loose white shirt and black pants. His eyes and hair were crimson red, just like a boy I met at the cafeteria, but slightly older than him. His hands were in his pockets, walking straight, full of confidence; his existence was even threatening the Dream Beast.

'Well, maybe going out won't be easy.' I was thinking of how to avoid confrontation, but I didn't turn around; still on my way.

"Are you Lucian?" That person was standing just a step away from me. I nodded, "Hm."

Deadly silence filled the atmosphere. We stared at each other for a bit before a voice broke the silence, "Lucian…"

I turned around and looked at Alina, who had also come here with Alice, and Iris also stood behind them.

I looked at her for a second before turning to the red-haired guy. He was still staring at me, his face carrying a slight smile.

"Let's meet next weekend, you seem quite busy here." Saying this. He took out a crimson card, offering it to me, "If you need any help, contact this number. I will send someone to pick you up on Sunday."

With these words, he walked away. I was left to face the question from Alina, but as usual, I just ignored her and went to my next class.

When the college came to an end. Alina and I went home together on the bus. On the way, she asked a few questions which I simply ignored, and we came home. Once home, I simply locked myself in my room. Alina also didn't tell anyone, which saved me from a lot of trouble.

I sat on my bed, looking at the shadow which standing in front of me, blocking the light coming from the window, its crimson eyes locked on me. After a few minutes of a staring contest, I closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes again, both of us were standing in the dream world. The shadow was merged with darkness; if not for crimson eyes, it couldn't even be noticed. This time I plan to make a breakthrough at the 9th stage of Nightmare realm cause time is running fast.

I looked at the darkness in front, and it slowly started to clear up. Thousands of nightmare images appeared like a movie, each carrying its own world of fear. I gave them a glance, and all of these nightmares turned into cloud darkness merging with the nightmare realm completely.

I took a step forward, and a huge dragon appeared in the nightmare realm. The same one that I saw in Ray's vision. I gave him a look, and it roared at me, causing the darkness to shake. I looked at him for a slight longer before taking another step forward, and all the darkness in the realm turned into a beast devouring this dragon, not even giving him a chance to struggle.

The next was Malghor, which also merged with darkness easily. Now, I stood in front of the Lilith, a bit hesitant cause she also seemed to be cultivating the Nightmare method. After hesitating for a bit, I just took another step forward because there is no going back.

This time, just as the Lilith figure merged with darkness, I lost my vision for a second. When I opened my eyes again. I was staring at the burning world ground, filled with dead bodies and walking skeletons, and millions of black shadows flying in the sky. A vision of death, a vision of hell, and a vision of reality. Forcing me to wake up.

I opened my eyes, and the apocalyptic vision vanished. Everything returned to calm, but the fear still lingered in my mind. This wasn't the fear of the world's destruction but something else… Eyes… the fear didn't come from the destruction, but from the eyes through which I saw the world.

I took a long breath before taking another step, but before placing my step, I halted in my tracks and looked at the sky. The next instant, a figure appeared in front of me.

"Hey, what are you doing? You share with me if anything is bothering you. I may not be helpful, but I can still listen." Alina spoke in a low voice, standing in front of me.

"Nothing, I was just dozing off," I replied as usual.
