Chapter 157 - Chapter 156: Breakthrough to a Higher Level, I Have Something to Return to You

When Song Jie saw Ai Tutu's mischievous smile, he immediately knew she was planning to run away again!

But there was nothing he could do about it—after all, her older brother was standing right there.

He silently made a note in his heart. When the time comes, I'll definitely make her pay for this!

Song Jie led Ai Jiangtu into the living room, chatting casually with her.

"What level have you cultivated to now?" Ai Jiangtu suddenly asked.

"Both Elements have reached the third level," Song Jie replied.

Ai Jiangtu nodded. His guess had been correct.

Ai Tutu originally wanted to tell Mu Nujiao she was leaving, but since Mu Nujiao had been exhausted last night, she decided not to wake her.

"Song Jie, come up and help me move my luggage," Ai Tutu called from upstairs.

Hearing her voice, Song Jie couldn't help but grumble under his breath. Still ordering me around even before leaving?

He went up to the second floor and entered Ai Tutu's room.

It was his first time stepping into a girl's room. The faint fragrance in the air made his heart stir slightly.

"I have two pieces of luggage, both for you to carry," Ai Tutu said with a teasing grin.

"You're really something…" Song Jie started to retort, about to bring up the maid outfit incident, but before he could finish, Ai Tutu suddenly leaned close!

Standing on tiptoe, she tilted her head up and pressed her soft, rosy lips against his cheek, leaving behind a faint lip print.

Before Song Jie could react, she quickly turned and ran off, calling over her shoulder, "I'm going down first!"

Another sneak attack!

Song Jie could only sigh helplessly before picking up the two suitcases and carrying them downstairs.

Outside, a car was already waiting by the roadside.

Ai Tutu waved at him cheerfully. "We'll see each other after school starts! Remember to tell Sister Mu for me!"

Soon, the sedan disappeared around the corner.

After seeing off Ai Tutu and Ai Jiangtu, Song Jie returned alone to the rental house.

The moment he sat down, he heard a door open upstairs.

Mu Nujiao appeared at the top of the staircase. "Did Tutu already leave?"

Song Jie nodded. "She left a little while ago."

Mu Nujiao had just woken up, and by the time she saw Ai Tutu's message on her phone, it was already too late.

She replied to Ai Tutu's text, then walked out of her room holding a bathrobe.

Seeing the bathrobe in her hands, Song Jie asked, "Jiao Jiao, are you going to shower?"

Mu Nujiao nodded. "I was too tired last night and didn't get the chance."

"I also worked up a sweat helping her move her luggage just now. Let's go together!"

Before Mu Nujiao could even close the door, Song Jie had already slipped inside—

A few days later.

Song Jie woke up in Mu Nujiao's bed, just as a message notification popped up on his phone.

It was from Tang Yue.

His money had arrived!

Over 120 million yuan!

It was his first time seeing that much money. His hand trembled slightly as he held the phone.

But when he remembered how quickly it would all be spent, his heart ached.

Turning off the screen, he looked at his reflection—haggard but still handsome—and muttered, "I really need to start exercising some restraint."

Mu Nujiao stirred beside him, her voice soft and sleepy. "Why are you up so early today?"

"I'm in a good mood," he said with a grin.

"Huh? What's going on?" she asked, confused.

"Still half-asleep?"

"Mm… maybe a little…"

"Then let me help you wake up properly," Song Jie teased as he ducked under the blanket.

[Reader: You literally just said you were going to exercise restraint!]

That afternoon, Song Jie contacted Mo Fan and asked him to get in touch with Zhao Manyan about the Galaxy Vein.

Since Mo Fan was no longer in the Magic City, he simply sent Song Jie Zhao Manyan's contact information and told him to find him directly.

When they met, Zhao Manyan treated Song Jie with great respect.

He had already heard the rumors—this was the same Song Jie who had once fought 250 people in a single day!

Zhao Manyan, the son of the Zhao Noble Family's patriarch, had more money than he knew what to do with.

With Zhao Manyan's connections, Song Jie successfully acquired a Galaxy Vein for 90 million yuan.

After thanking Zhao Manyan, Song Jie went to find Dean Xiao to borrow the Three Step Tower for cultivation.

He had already submitted a request in advance, so Dean Xiao approved it immediately.

The students stationed at the tower knew Song Jie well. After greeting them and presenting his pass, he stepped inside.

Standing on the third floor, he exhaled deeply. Whether I can break through to the Advanced Level or not depends on this one attempt!

He began his seclusion.

A few more days passed.

Mu Nujiao, Mo Fan, and several others were chosen as exchange students to study at the Imperial Capital Academy.

Their accompanying teachers were Qiu Yuhua and Gu Han, who were currently waiting for everyone to gather.

Gu Han smiled. "All of you must give it your best this time. Last year, our Pearl Institute defeated the Imperial Capital Academy."

Although not many knew about that incident, quite a few had heard the rumors.

"Teacher Gu, don't put so much pressure on them," Professor Qiu Yuhua said with a small smile.

"I heard that during that exchange, our Pearl Institute completely crushed them!" a male student added excitedly.

"Luo Song, aren't you from the Imperial Capital? You must know the details—tell us!" someone urged.

Everyone turned to look at Luo Song. He sighed and said helplessly, "It was a senior named Song Jie—the one who took on 250 people. He summoned three Warrior-Level Summoned Beasts and completely shocked the entire Imperial Capital Academy."

"Wait, three Summoned Beasts? Isn't a Mid-Level Summoner limited to two?"

"Don't you know? He's a Mutated Mage! Both his Light and Summoning Elements have mutated!"

The group erupted into chatter.

"Alright, everyone's here. Let's get on the bus—we're heading to the airport," Gu Han said after a quick headcount.

They boarded the bus one by one, and the doors closed with a hiss.

At that moment, Song Jie appeared beside the bus, right where Mu Nujiao was sitting.

Behind her sat Bai Tingting, the girl Song Jie had once saved during the stadium incident.

Song Jie waved toward Mu Nujiao, silently bidding her farewell.

Her heart felt warm; she gently raised her hand and waved back.

"The person outside is the one you were just talking about," Gu Han said. "That's Song Jie—the one who led Pearl Institute to defeat the Imperial Capital Academy last time."

Instantly, all eyes turned toward the window. Some students even stood up for a better look.

A flicker of surprise flashed in Bai Tingting's beautiful eyes—she hadn't expected her savior to be that Song Jie.

As the bus slowly pulled away, Song Jie turned to leave the school gates.

Just then, his phone rang.

It was Ding Yumian calling.

Since she'd returned, Ding Yumian had either been cultivating or spending her time in the library, while Song Jie had been busy making money. They hadn't spoken much recently.

Her gentle voice came through the phone.

"Song Jie, come to the lakeside. I have something to return to you."
