Advanced Ritual Art lets you Ritual Summon from your hand by sending Normal Monsters from your deck as tribute.
Since it's a generic Ritual Spell, Kira couldn't yet deduce what deck Eddie was running—just that it was likely a Ritual deck.
"Battle."
Eddie, icy as ever, raised a hand like a dueling machine.
"Attack the face-down monster with 'Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands.'"
Manju flew out like a statue, launching a barrage of fists—a storm of punches, a net of firepower targeting the face-down monster.
The card flipped—a green-furred turtle lay on the ground, its shell resembling a silver UFO.
Kira: "The attack target is 'UFO Turtle.'"
[UFO Turtle, DEF 1200]
Punches hammered the UFO shell, smashing it to pieces. The flying saucer exploded in a fireball, metal shards raining everywhere.
"When UFO Turtle is destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, its effect activates," Kira said. "I can Special Summon a FIRE monster with 1500 or less ATK from my deck, in Attack Position."
His deck auto-searched, ejecting a card. Kira placed it on the duel disk.
"Special Summon 'Lonefire Blossom.'"
A ball of fire bloomed on Kira's field, sprouting into a fiery flower.
[Lonefire Blossom, ATK 500]
Eye: "Ohh, today's a Plant deck!"
Eddie glanced coldly at the burning flower, then spoke in a flat tone.
"Plants are a weak Type. In the world of dueling gods and demons, they are survivors at the margins."
Kira raised an eyebrow.
"Well, that's a new take."
He grinned. "But you can talk about weaklings after you beat me."
Eddie ignored him and set a card.
"I set a card face-down. Turn end."
"Then my turn—draw."
Kira drew.
"Lonefire Blossom's effect: Once per turn, tribute a face-up Plant you control to Special Summon any Plant from your deck."
A classic Plant powerhouse. Tribute any Plant, including itself, to summon any Plant from the deck—no restrictions. In modern Yu-Gi-Oh!, the scary part is that the effect is only "once per turn," not "once per card name per turn." So if you get it off the field and back, or flip it face-down and up again, you can use it multiple times in a turn.
The card's not banned, just semi-limited, mostly because Plants aren't that competitive.
"Lonefire is a Plant, so I tribute Lonefire itself."
A card popped from his deck. Kira grabbed it.
"Special Summon 'Gigaplant.'"
The card was true to its name—a massive plant monster. Green roots plunged into the ground, its body formed a giant plant beast with a huge maw ringed with sharp white teeth.
[Gigaplant, ATK 2400]
"Gigaplant is a Gemini monster, treated as a Normal Monster while face-up or in the graveyard. But you can Normal Summon it again to gain its monster effect.
I Gemini Summon Gigaplant to activate its effect."
The card behind Gigaplant glowed, summoning animation and gold light.
"Now, once per turn, I can Special Summon any Insect or Plant from my hand or graveyard."
A golden light flashed in the graveyard; a card popped to his hand.
"I Special Summon the 'Lonefire Blossom' I just tributed back to the field.
Come forth, Lonefire Blossom."
A fireball flared, blooming into a flower once again.
[Lonefire Blossom, ATK 500]
"Lonefire's effect—once per turn, tribute a Plant to summon any Plant from the deck."
Eye: "Because Lonefire left the field and came back, its once-per-turn effect is reset!
As expected of Duel King! Using a new deck so smoothly on the first try!"
Kira shot it a look and grinned. "You know, you sound just like one of the Supreme King's flunkies."
Eye: "…"
Kira ignored it and continued.
"I tribute Lonefire again. Special Summon any Plant from my deck."
He paused, drawing a card from the deck with a smile.
"This is the rare Plant boss I worked hard to get—let's test it today—
—'Tytannial, Princess of Camellias!'"
Petals danced through the air, giant green leaves unfurled in the center of the field. Lonefire burned itself away, paving the way for its comrade.
From the leaves, a blood-red flower opened, a regal female emerged—pale, dignified, wrapped in leaves and vines, queen of the flowers.
[Tytannial, Princess of Camellias, ATK 2800]
"Summoned two high-level monsters in an instant," Eddie said flatly. "For mere Plants to achieve this…"
"That's why you shouldn't underestimate any Type's potential," said Kira.
"'Tytannial, Princess of Camellias,' attack 'Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands!'"
The Plant Queen slowly opened her eyes and stretched out a slender arm. With a twist of her hand, the petals danced, forming a blood-red vortex—a flower storm shooting at Eddie's field.
[Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, ATK 1400]
Tytannial would inflict 1400 damage by destroying Manju, with the 2400 ATK Gigaplant still ready to strike. If both attacks went through, Eddie's life points would be hanging by a thread!
