"Morphtronic Boomboxen, attack Vortex Trooper!"
Transformed into robot form, Boomboxen wobbled over to Vortex Trooper. The two robots quickly clashed, sparks flying, parts scattering all over.
In a moment, Vortex Trooper crumbled into junk, bits flying everywhere—no one even knew where the fan on its head landed—finally, with a "boom!", it erupted in a sorry explosion.
"Vortex Trooper's monster effect activates," Kira stated calmly. "When Vortex Trooper is destroyed, I draw a card from the deck."
Kira drew a card.
The bespectacled elementary student muttered from the side, "Drawing again…"
Sure enough, this silver-haired uncle really felt like he was looking for something.
But Leo was now wholly absorbed in his clever tactics and didn't notice at all. "Now your field is empty, uncle! But my battle's not done! Since Morphtronic Boomboxen's in attack position, it can attack twice per turn! Next, Boomboxen attacks directly!"
Boomboxen leaped over the empty field, its iron fist punching directly into Kira.

"Yes! Yes!" Leo hopped from foot to foot, brimming with excitement.
"I did big damage!"
Kira smiled back, encouraging. "You're doing great."
But then he shifted gears.
"However, now my set card activates. Trap Card: 'Damage Condenser'. When I take battle damage, I can discard a card to Special Summon a monster from my deck with ATK less than or equal to the damage. I discard a card—now, from my deck, I Special Summon 'Treasure Panda' in attack mode."
A rotund panda leapt onto Kira's field, its huge paw pressing down its hat and its plump belly almost threatening to burst its buttons.

Leo: "You even used my attack to summon a monster—uncle, you're good!"
He didn't think much about it, but the bespectacled classmate grew more confused.
"If you'd summoned the panda when Power Tool Dragon first attacked, wouldn't it have blocked an extra Boomboxen attack?"
He quietly mumbled.
"No—that first Power Tool attack did 3200 massive damage. If Damage Condenser triggered then, he could have summoned a monster with up to 3200 ATK. Leo could never get through that."
But this man waited until the end just to summon the panda. Was there something special about this monster?
At the end of Leo's turn, the Morphtronic Boomboxen summoned by Junk Box self-destructed and went back to the graveyard.
"My turn. Draw."
Kira looked at his drawn card and revealed it.
"I activate the Spell Card 'Allure of Darkness'. Draw two cards from the deck, then banish a DARK monster from my hand, or if you have none, banish your entire hand."
Leo gasped. "Wouldn't that be dangerous if you had no DARK monsters?"
The glasses-wearing student squinted, "You just wouldn't activate it, then."
Leo scratched his head. "Ahaha, true."
Kira drew two, then showed his DARK monster "Sangan", banishing it.
"Next, I activate 'Into the Void'. If I have three or more cards in hand, draw one card. But at the end of the turn, discard my entire hand."
Leo and Glasses: "!"
Both were shocked.
Discarding your whole hand at the end of the turn… wasn't this a desperate last-ditch draw combo? Was he seriously willing to go that far just to draw?
"I set a card," Kira said. "Then, I activate 'Reload'—return my entire hand to the deck, then draw the same number."
He shuffled his entire hand back and drew again.
"Next, Treasure Panda's monster effect. From my graveyard, I can banish up to three Spell or Trap Cards face-down to Special Summon a Normal Monster from my Deck whose Level equals the number banished."
This effect isn't once per turn, and by now Kira's graveyard had plenty of spells and traps.
"I banish the Trap 'Card of Sacrifice' from the grave. One card banished, so I Special Summon a Level 1 Normal Monster from my Deck: 'Skull Servant'!"
A skeletal figure clad in ragged robes appeared—thin, frail, not looking tough at all.

"Next, I banish 'Into the Void' from the grave." Kira announced. "Treasure Panda activates again, summoning another Skull Servant."

"And then, banish 'Allure of Darkness'—special summon a third Skull Servant."

Leo was perplexed. "But uncle, no matter how many you summon, they're just Level 1 normals. My Power Tool Dragon can't be beaten by those."
Power Tool Dragon flexed its drill confidently.
"Seems so," Kira smiled.
"Next, I activate 'White Elephant's Gift'. Send all non-Effect monsters on my field to the graveyard, draw two cards. I send a Skull Servant, draw two."
Kira drew.
"Then Treasure Panda's effect—banish 'Damage Condenser', special summon a Level 1 Normal from Deck: 'Thousand-Eyes Idol!'"
[Thousand-Eyes Idol, ATK 0]
"Thousand-Eyes Idol is a Spellcaster, so I can equip it with 'Wonder Wand'. This gives it 500 ATK, and by sending both to the GY, I draw two more cards."
"And then Into the Void—draw again."
"And Treasure Panda's effect, special summon Thousand-Eyes Idol. Equip Wonder Wand, send to GY, draw two."
"Activate White Elephant's Gift again, send another Skull Servant, draw two."
...
For the next minute, Kira repeated a dizzying sequence of card draw combos. The sheer pace and variety left both Leo and the bespectacled student speechless.
Leo just stood there staring, watching the thickness of Kira's deck shrink visibly, down to just a few cards.
Was he about to deck himself out in one turn!?
If you run out of cards, you lose, right? And so far, practically all the cards he drew or sent were either draw accelerators or monsters like Thousand-Eyes Idol and Skull Servant, which can be searched with Panda or sent to the grave by spells—for the sole purpose of drawing more cards.
His whole deck was practically built for card drawing. But how was he supposed to win?
But as Kira's deck reached its final cards, the answer was revealed.
"Finally, I activate the effect of this card in my hand," Kira said, almost lazily revealing it.
"Zushin the Sleeping Giant!"
