Kira looked at Akiza with a teasing smile.
"I said, if you could win the Fortune Cup, defeat the King, become New Domino's true champion—then maybe you'd be worthy of fighting me again.
"But, it seems your so-called fire for revenge was just so-so."
"Shut up! Just shut up!"
Akiza, just finished dueling Yusei, her headband cracked from the earlier outburst of power, her hair now wild.
"I don't care about tournaments, only about killing you, avenging Sayer. Nothing else matters.
I go first. Draw!"
Akiza took her first draw.
"I Summon 'Evil Thorn' in Attack Position!"
On her field, earth bulged and a tiny green plant sprouted, blooming a lifeless flower.

"Evil Thorn's effect activates!" Akiza declared. "I tribute this card to inflict 300 damage to you!
Take this!"
The damage was only 300, but with her psychic power unleashed, her hair blew wildly. Evil Thorn vanished into light—its tendril lashed at Kira, who parried it with his duel disk like a shield.

"After Evil Thorn's effect, I can special summon up to two more 'Evil Thorns' from my deck in Attack Position."
Her deck spat out two cards automatically.
"Come to my field—two Evil Thorns!"
Again, buds broke through the soil to stand beside her.

Akiza played a Spell Card from her hand.
"But now I activate the Spell Card 'Closed Plant Gate'!" (Anime card)
The spell projected behind her, swirling leaves forming a closed barrier.
"Closed Plant Gate can only activate with at least two plant monsters of the same name on the field.
Your opponent can't declare any attacks next turn!"
"So, you're going with burn plus attack lock. Akiza sure is withdrawn, not cute at all." Kira shrugged.
"Shut up!" Akiza snapped. "I Set two cards and end my turn."
She motioned toward Kira.
"This duel, I'll go all out, I will NOT lose to you again—even if I have to risk my life!"
"Oh?" Kira replied. "All for Sayer?"
"Don't you dare say his name!"
"Alright, alright. Just so you know: memory can be flawed. Sometimes you only believe what you want to believe. Did you ever doubt Sayer at all?"
"I SAID SHUT UP!"
"Okay then. My turn; draw."
Kira said, "If my opponent has special summoned monsters, and I have none, I activate 'Card of Adversity' (Anime card).
Draw two cards from the deck."
He drew twice.
"Now the effect of Machina Fortress in my hand. By discarding Machine monsters for a total of 8 or more levels from my hand, I can special summon it from hand or graveyard.
I discard level 8 Machine—Planet Series 'The Big Saturn'.

A heavy mech fortress crashed down, quickly transforming—massive cannons locking on, treads landed, fully armed and ready.

He pointed at his Fortress.
"I release 'Machina Fortress' to revive the card I just discarded for its summon—"
The giant alloy fortress was wreathed in light, metal parts melting away in the glow. An intense pillar of light erupted, fierce power rising skyward.

A titanic machine loomed from the light, golden-brown rings spinning at mad speed, spitting lightning and thunder. The ground shook, debris hovered, swirling like planetary rings.
The golden ring collapsed into a blazing halo; gears and conduits unfurled, forming the iron titan fortress. The Big Saturn crashed down, its aura like a cosmic tyrant ruling over ruins.

As a psychic duelist, Akiza could sense the unique aura from the "Planet Series"—she was moved.
"This monster's power…"
But she shook her head. "No matter how strong, you can't attack!"
"True. But Saturn's power doesn't even require attacking." Kira smiled. "First, The Big Saturn's effect.
Once per turn, pay 1000 LP to increase Saturn's ATK by 1000 until the end of the turn!"
