The person who had tracked his psychic powers that day was not someone Cain could confront. And now, with the members of the Sacred Church gathered together, that conglomeration of psychic powers was, quite simply, a walking nuclear bomb.
Cain could not help but wonder how, in ancient times, such a powerful country of psychics had been defeated, and how so many psychics could have been overcome by a group of ordinary people.
However, he suddenly remembered something else. In the Sinnoh region, the secret guarded by Cynthia's ancient clan, the legends of the god of time and the god of space: Dialga and Palkia.
In the past, Cain had seen, engraved on the walls of an ancient temple hidden in the rear mountains, accounts about this continent.
At that time, the texts on the walls were very special; ordinary people could not understand them at all, and not even Cynthia's ancient lineage had passed down a method capable of interpreting them.
But at this moment, with the help of the Unown, Cain managed to understand part of the content.
It was a very vague sensation. He did not literally understand the words, but he did grasp part of their meaning, as if there were a thin membrane blocking the deepest secrets.
Perhaps the Unown had not wanted Cain to know, or perhaps the Cain of that time still did not have the ability to understand it.
However, right now, as he recalled the content of those walls, the Unown on his wrist began to glow. The characters that had once seemed blurry gradually began to clarify in his mind.
Cain watched the images in his head in astonishment. The texts on that wall had been deeply engraved into his subconscious without him knowing it. Now, as he thought about it, and under the deliberate impetus of the Unown, those characters seemed to come to life, turning into words Cain could understand.
Much of their content did not differ greatly from what he had seen in the past.
In an infinite and boundless space, Arceus discovered three Pokémon eggs floating in the void. With its help, the eggs successfully hatched, giving rise to three Pokémon.
Dialga and Palkia, who were born with the ability to control time and space, and the third egg, from which was born the Dragon of the Underworld, Giratina, capable of controlling antimatter.
The three Pokémon did not get along with each other from birth, but Arceus, acting as a mediator, wanted to improve their relationship.
However, of them all, the one who rejected Arceus's help the most was Giratina. Endowed from birth with the power of antimatter, it turned around and disappeared into infinite space.
Dialga and Palkia, for their part, attempted to cooperate experimentally and, after investing an enormous amount of time, created the continent of time and space in which Cain now found himself. The two Pokémon also enjoyed a period of calm and stability.
Moreover, the two Pokémon lived on this continent, precisely on the highest mountain located at its center.
Because of their prolonged stay, the place where they resided underwent certain special changes.
When Arceus was ambushed during the creation of the Pokémon world and was gravely injured, choosing to temporarily withdraw, without its intentional suppression, the relationship between Dialga and Palkia gradually deteriorated once more.
Both Pokémon left the continent and never returned, but the peculiarities of the place where they had lived were preserved.
"So... the Sacred Church's objective is probably related to something Dialga and Palkia left behind?" Cain raised his head and could vaguely make out the enormous mountain rising in the center of the continent. And the place where he sensed the presence of the Sacred Church coincided precisely with that area.
Although all of this was a sensation induced by the Unown, Cain could not help but feel that he was being manipulated like a puppet, which made him extremely uncomfortable.
"No matter what the Sacred Church's objective is. With my current strength, going there would be courting death. Besides, we still have to stay here for more than four months. If that object were so easy to obtain, the Sacred Church would not have chosen this moment to enter," he shook his head, expelling from his mind that idea imposed by the Unown.
It was evident that the Unown wanted Cain to go there, even though he did not know what benefit they would gain from it.
If it were something feasible, even if difficult, and considering how much the Unown had helped him for so long, Cain would not mind taking a small risk.
But now it was clear that all the members of the Sacred Church had gathered there. With Cain's current strength, approaching rashly would only mean certain death.
Upon understanding Cain's resolve and firm stance, the Unown stopped glowing and no longer continued to instigate him.
Once Cain made his decision, Steven and the others, who had already finished organizing their things, walked out of the cave.
Seeing Cain lost in thought, Steven stepped forward, patted him on the shoulder, and smiled.
"What are you thinking about?"
That tap brought Cain back to his senses. He temporarily stored all those thoughts deep in his mind. For now, the priority was protecting themselves; it was better not to let those unrealistic ideas grow in his head.
He slowly shook his head.
"Nothing, I was just thinking about how to find people and gather them faster."
After hearing his words, the others did not have a good solution either.
The extent of this continent was enormous, and the wild Pokémon were extremely powerful, which further increased the difficulty of the search. The only fortunate thing was that the Sacred Church had gathered at the mountain, which made their own actions considerably safer.
Although the people from each region had left symbols that were understandable to one another, the area was so vast that there was no guarantee anyone would see them. In reality, Cain and his group had been lucky: their initial strategy was clear, to wait in one place until Cain managed to gather them.
"I propose the following," said Lance. "First, let's look for a place that is safe enough and suitable for camping, and establish our base there. Then, once our safety is guaranteed, we go out separately to leave marks and search for companions."
"With our capabilities, I think we can cover a considerable distance in a single day. In the long run, by expanding the search range, someone will eventually see what we leave behind."
"Although it takes time, it's safe. The prerequisite is having a relatively safe environment."
